Meaty doesn’t mean it hits on the last active frame necessarily, just not the first active frame.
A lot of the character specific combos don’t hit on the very last active frame. You can tell because only some of them you can link a sweep after.
Another thing that’s really nice and I’m not sure every character it works on; but it’s, jump in lp so that you land very close, lk tatsu (crosses up if they crouch, which they should to block lows unless they’re throwing which also loses to lk tatsu) obviously it’s very subject to reversals that beat lk tatsu, but it’s a good trick/technique none-the-less. I know for sure, Bison and Sakura though I’m sure it works on a few others at least.
I don’t know how exactly that trick works but Uryo tends to do it a lot on Rufus too…
I like just doing my normal blockstrings then every now and then after 1 or 2 jabs I randomly do l tatsu and it totally catches techers off gaurd and leads to stHP tatssu crHP ex tatsu xD

But for some reason I don’t understand some people end up kicking me out of the tatsu o.O
Their lk/lp/mp (ryu’s doing mp + crouch tech OS) will hit me out of the tatsu… pretty strange…
Crouch jab beats it the opponent has to do a late tech to get blown up
Found out these combos that work on gen today, its pretty good damage for a meterless hitconfirm. They also work on cody, but they seem to to be less consistent on cody unless you jump in.

I would like to ask if there is a kind of spreadsheet or something like that with a list of the character specific combos to each character. So I could see which are the optimized/bnb combos for each match up with just a look.

Does sweep work in place of cr.mk? Kinda hard to tell if there’s enough advantage, doesn’t look like it, but worth a check. Cool finds!

I posted a list of the majority of character specific combos in this thread on the page before this, I might update it with some later finds. Also in the sakura notebook thread, there are some special combos listed as well.
In general what you want to do is, from up close you go for st.hp xx lk tatsu cr.hp xx tatsu, from further away you go for st.lk instead of cr.hp.
I just saw human bomb doing this combo @ 6.24
st.mk xx tatsu > st. lp > cr.hp xx tatsu > cr.mk shouoken
works on ryu, ken, evil ryu
You can do it after focus and after a blocked/whiffed dp, so pretty good meterless punish does 331 damage
also in case someone didnt know yet, against sakura, against blocked/whiffed shouoken or after doing focus, do st.hp xx tatsu cr.hp xx tatsu, cr.mk shouoken
On Balrog you can do cl.hp, cr.hp normally or add a s.mk at the start after deep jumpin or focus crumple…on the corner you can do hado FA level 2 for the crumple after second cr.hp, dash and do it again, though adding s.mk into that can be finicky.
Just found out about these two combos that work on balrog
First one only works after headbutt, second one works after headbutt and focus (edit:) and jump in :O, pretty good meterless damage

On rolento you can pretty much do all the Adon meaty tatsu combos combos except for st.lp/cr.lk > st.hp xx lk tatsu >cr.hp xx lk tatsu cr.mk shouoken
all the others starting with st.hp cr.hp or st.mk work
a new one is st.lp > cr.hp xx lk tatsu > st.mk xx shouoken
on poison you can do
cr.mp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu. cr mk xx shouoken/sweep (after jump in/ focus)
st.lp st.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.mk xx shouken
on elena
st.lp st.hp xx lk tatsu. cr.hp xx lk tatsu. cr.mk/far.st.hp xx shouoken/ sweep

on hugo you can do hp into otoshi as expected
best way to land is to do it from st.mk xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx otoshi

Decapre
Decapre has a very weird hitbox, I assumed she would have the same hitbox as Cammy but that is not the case. The default St. HP xx LK tatsu, cr. HP XX dp loop does NOT work on her. The cr. HP whiffs on her so in order to tatsu loop her, you have to use St. MK.
