SSF4 Sakura Character Specific Combos

The mysteries abound re: Decapre hitboxes. I can connect cl.hp xx l.tatsu > cr.hp…but only on CH cl.hp, and only vs. standing.

Looks like shoto fake crossup setup(jumpback > dash > j.hp) hits Poison as a fake crossup if they hold forward, but whiffs entirely if she holds back. Something about the whole deal looks weird animation wise, I think she might be prime for an unblockable but I’m not good at figuring those out lol

Found some combos on decapre after reading the cr.hp loop doesnt work
Decapre
st.lp, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.mk xx shouoken
st.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.mk shouoken ( after cross up)

I also got st.hp xx lk tatsu cr.hp xx lk tatsu cr.mk shouoken after hp shouoken fadc but not sure how I did it, still trying to figure out the timing

Also got one for elena after trying to find a good punish for her slide and ex mallet smash it does 410 meterless damage !!

Elena
cr.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.mk/st.hp shouoken (after blocked slide, ex mallet smash or ex shouoken fadc)

May I add this to the Rolento list:

Jump in > Clmk xx lk tatsu > clmk xx lk tatsu > crhp xx lk tatsu > crhp xx lk tatsu > Far standing HP xx Shou/extatsu.
Focus attack > Lk tatsu > clmk xx lk tatsu > crhp xx lk tatsu > crhp xx lk tatsu > Far standing HP xx Shou/extatsu.

Cl.hp xx lk.tatsu > cr.hp xx lk.tatsu > cr.mk xx works off nearly every cl.hp on Rolento including both crouching and standing and counterhit on both, on srk FADC, on ex.srk FADC, on focus crumple > lk.tatsu, on jump in, and on raw lk.tatsu including counterhit UNLESS you get a non counterhit lk.tatsu on standing Rolento then far.hp comes out instead.

On Hugo max damage loop (idk if this is still max damage with the added far.hp loops) cl.hp xx lk.tatsu > cr.hp xx lk.tatsu > cr.hp xx seems to work off anything (including srk FADC and focus crumple > lk.tatsu) unless you’re just hitting him raw standing in which case I believe cl.mk xx lk.tatsu > cr.hp xx lk.tatsu > cr.hp xx lk.tatsu > st.lk xx is max damage.

On Poison can do cl.mk x3, cr.hp tatsu loop after a jump in or ex.srk FADC (standing only)
Can also do cl.hp, cr.hp, cr.mk tatsu loop after a jump in or ex.srk FADC on both crouching and standing Poison, this might be max damage without Ultra.

Sorry if anyone posted any of these before.

Yeah he’s like adon, like I said before all the combos on adon with a few exceptions work on him.

Elena’s crouching hurtbox is messed up lol, I was trying cl.hp, cr.hp, cr.mk loop on her crouching and sometimes it worked, sometimes the cr.hp would hit with later active frames and not get the link and sometimes lk.tatsu whiffed after cr.hp, sooo inconsistent it seems.

So I found out some new couterhit combos using the far standing fierce, check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGGCvpRkvCQ

Soo apparently you can land two close st.hp on poison sf x tk style made a quick vid to show how to land it

Love that you guys still keep going with all the sakura tech!
id use cl.mp st.hp (CH) c.mk xx shouoken cancel cl.hp ex.tatsu for max dmg into U1 for aprox 603 dmg i think it was.

Nice find, but is this practical to use in a match? I can see that it makes the link 2f instead of 1f, but it gives you the same dmg/stun as cr.HP (which is the standard link you’d be familiar with for other matchups anyway), means more character-specific stuff to think about mid-match and if you should mess it up and get far.st.HP instead you’re leaving a 4f gap at best.

Also from a quick test in training mode the jumpin doesn’t need to be super deep if you’re using j.HK instead of j.HP

Yeah it’s actually very practical you can land the combo off of her regular post hp shouoken safe jumps. I actually landed it multiple times in match after I found out to try out if it was practical or not. The only thing that might need some adjusting is that if you fadc after 2 hits (like I do) you have to adjust your timing a bit. But in general I think most Sakura players use 3 hits to confirm anyway, I just taught myself to do it after two because the timing was easier for me . That’s actually how I found out about it missing lol.

Doesn’t seem too complicated to remember, pretty straight forward. I fadc after 2 hits on mp shou and 3 hits on ex and HP shou, I feel more consistent with the 2 hit mp. Not sure why, i think the quicker timing keeps me in rythm. Nice find, excited to land it.

fwiw I just ran a three hour set against a good Poison for matchup ideas for my next vid and I can confirm that cl.hp x2 into cr.mp is very viable and useful. I’d seen Foxx do it into cr.hp but couldn’t get that to work myself.

It does about 13 more damage than my combo but like 80 less stun; it’s also wayyy easier execution-wise and the way to go imo

This one inspired me

nice

Apologies as Twitch is banned at work and mobile archive playback is obviously a no-go, I can’t tell if the video has any sound but at locals yesterday I was kinda toying vs. Elena in training mode while waiting for the tournament to start and showed a few things that’ll be in this week’s video, namely a consistent, max damage/stun far s.hp combo (and some other random crap).

I think it’s a minute or two in before I start (and another minute or two before I stop dropping combos lol)

on balrog you can do cr.mp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, far st.hp xx shouken/ex tatsu
it works after a blocked headbutt, focus level 1 and 2, ex fadc, and jump in

Niiice

Found another along that line that’s finicky, CL.MP > CR.MP xx L.Tatsu > CR.HP xx L.Tatsu, the tatsu hits meaty but I can’t figure out how to make it constantly max meaty, sometimes you can S.HP, you can always CR.MP into either Shou or EX.Tatsu though
