It is in the sense that it’s easy to confirm and execute and has worthwhile damage/stun, but I was hoping to put together something like “here’s this combo, and also a good way to land the starter” rather than just leaving people hoping that they react with it if they get a crossup. Part of that is just because I spent half of Friday night jumping at Cody like an idiot fishing for cl.hps, lol.
Ooh, like that, what i’ve been doing so far is do a shouoken, then take 1 step forward, jump with midkick and it will cross up. If you do it right you can basically do it as an endless loop, if your opponent is somehow incapable of blocking cross ups :D.
Not really possible to hit tatsu links on good opponents.
Best way is after DP FADC or corner setups/resets…
Other than that there’s not much room for it…
You can use this one against Cody… forward throw, jump straight over and tatsu and you land on other side, st.HP, tatsu, st lp, cr HP etc etc… other than that dunno…
Hi guys. I’m having problems with sakura’s trial number 23. It’s light tatsu, c.hp, ex dp, fadc, mk, light tatsu, c.hp, ex dp. I’m only getting the first three. I’m having trouble fadc with the mk. I know how to fadc but the mk is not coming out. Any suggestions or tips on when to fadc to mk?

Oh, I meant wanting those setups for the Sakura one, since I know it has to be started with a crossup and you can’t just do those at will all the time. I did test tonight and it appears a j.hp that hits behind will also work, so I think you can do it off of the 50/50 setup regardless of which you hit with in the corner, but I need to test that further to confirm.
You’re going to want to plink the s.mk with lk, that’s a one-frame link both times, as well are the l.tatsu > cr.hp ones. I generally do the plink directly after the mp+mk input for the FADC. You’ll get it eventually, for what it’s worth the first time I did it I spent like 3 hours on it with no luck, went to bed, woke up the next morning and did it on my second try.

Also make sure you fadc after the 4th or 5th hit of the EX shouoken.

Dunno if this has been posted yet, but on C.Viper you can do stMK xx tatsu, stHP xx tatsu, crHP xx tatsu, crMK, DP

I just tried it and the way Viper was in hitstun after the crHP tatsu it seemed like when doing the other combos on Yun/Yang etc so I just tried it and it works…
I start off in training mode on SF before I go online, pick Sakura and then random as training dummy and see which combos work on which… for instance on Ryu you can only do stMK tatsu, stHP tatsu, crHP ex tatsu/DP for regular BnB, on T Hawk you can do stMK, crHP, crHP, stLK ex tatsu/DP on Gief you can only do stMK, crHP, stLK… just test it out see what works… you can also do longer combos like stMK, stMK, stMK, crHP on Ryu but that involves 3 1 frame links and I’m so terrible at plinking in general, plinking MK is very hard for me… I can’t do it for crap…
I’ll practice combo against the character and after I’m done, I just do the combo 5 times in a row (if I fail i start again) and then head online!
Usually takes 10-30 mins depending…

Just wanna note that the clMK, clHP, crHP stuff on Ryu only works when jumping in. If you try to do it off a focus, for instance, you’ll whiff the last part. I’m personally still in the process of figuring out practical bnbs for the whole cast.

Works on everyone, can be hit off of a crumple, can be hit straight off the ground.
Seems to be the most practical and damaging one if you just need a quick punish and cba learning character specifics.
I just have no problem learning character ones because of the random training xD

Yeah I’ll ask later, my modem died, and im using some backup connection now, which is the slowest shit ever, basically slightly better than dial up -_-. Takes forever to load for example a 2 min youtube video, and can’t even see the updates you made because everything is soooo slooow.
What do you mean by meaty tatsu combos?
Combos that causes the tatsu to hit on its last active frame, giving it a lot more frame advantage being able to combo into crazy things.
