My MUs have gone all over the place.
The seth match I am so much more comfortable with. But at the same time, I’m losing to blanka, bison and 'rog consistently. It’s really weird. And annoying. Think I need to revisit those match ups.

Bison/Rog I’m comfortable with. Blanka I need to revisit. Rose has never been so free. Seriously evasive/aggressive Guy players whom know their safejump/run stop pressure/frame traps are a pain to deal with. Vipers are alot of fun. Currently studying Yang/Yun matchup. Still think Yang is so much more difficult than Yun. Revisiting the Sagat matchup as well as the Ken matchup.
EDIT: Then again, the fact that I’m too aggro for my own good doesn’t help any either.
what’s changed in the rose matchup that’s made it easier (i kinda could tell it had changed too)? more nerfs than just the ultra 2 nerf and the super nerf?
Just wanted to know who has the best Guile? I never knew who it was. I’d love to find out who it is and study their gameplay as I plan to main Guile. Thanks.
Its hard to say who is “best” based on opinion/playstyle etc… but I think Dieminion is consistently getting best results with him for the longest time. Warahk its great too, but I think he may have switched mains for AE due to the nerf frustrations.
Anyone know why Frame Data for Shades isnt up? Dudleys Rose has it, I think we should have data for dem Shades too.
Na dude that’s fine. Just trying to scope out some good Guile players. And what’s this about a nerf?
Check out the AE Guile thread
I think the best guile in america is Dieminion(no show, just effective play), the one I love to see because his corner pressure is just beatiful is Dagger G, the one I always back up and try to save my prayers is Warahk(I like his hair style too).
Hey what’s up guys. Haven’t really got a chance to visit since EVO but I’ll be sure to check in more often. Didn’t do quite so well @ EVO due to lack of sleep, but I’m really looking forward to SBO and the following week Nagoya Street Battle! Feel free to ask any questions and I will be more than happy to answer.
congrats on the SBO qualification! all my fingers are crossed for you to do well over there.
Di3: Can you offer any advice on the Sim matchup? You do very well against Arturo. Is that based more of your familiarity with him rather than the matchup itself? You can’t win this anymore using the Super strategy of full screen fireball war. I try to match fireballs, focus through limbs, get in. I also try to get in a boom and dash behind it, trying to bulldog Sim a bit and just push him to the corner… always on guard for that tele. I thought sweeping his cr.hp would be good to get the kd and rush in but haven’t played many Sims lately.
BTW would anyone here agree with the statement that Guile kind of lives off of fundamentals? Few things he does are flashy, it seems like if you have good fundamentals you can go really far with Guile, as opposed to a number of other chars.
Hey guys, I figured out how to give your flash kick just a little extra range, its not much but you never know when it might come in handy. I’ll be posting a short little video about it soon
kara flash kick with medium punch?
no. just tiger knee, you actually get a bit more range. its like the walk forward a step and then sonic boom
Interesting, just played… taolon? Something like that. The super-aggresive Guile player, confused the hell outta me for a while, probably thought I was trolling him because it made me go back to Guile myself and turtle. Gimmicky to be sure but could very well work in a tourney.
I played Dieminion this Saturday in a tournament. He is good! He sent me to the losers bracket. Not only that, but he won the whole KC tournament.
One thing I noticed was that he was using rolling sabots at a distance a bunch in our mirror match. I’m guessing this helps him build meter quick. He always had more meter than me. Is this fairly common practice?
I found some really interesting Guile safe jumps after lk and mk super today. Will be posting a video with those soon
sobat does not build meter unless he is hiting you with it. He used it to zone and manage his boom fire efficiently. I am sure that he neutral jumped or jumped most of your ex booms or maybe, he focused absorbed some of your ex when he matched it with his boom.
I once watched him play a very good guile on the stream and he won because he manage to receive minimun chip damage for the first 70 secs of the round, after that it is the guile that has taken more chip damage, the one that needs to make something unsafe in order to win…
I bet that’s it. I know St LK is great for positioning forward but I guess St MK can move you back a little if you like or neutral jump a boom
