i remember toikido said that guile was one of akuma’s worst matches in a.e. when i posted it on this forum, everyone was like “wtf?” (including myself). so maybe you have a point on that one.
just for the record, i haven’t played a.e yet. but i’m just curious to know what matches have changed from 6-4 guile in super, to 4-6…if you get what i mean.
i plan on staying with guile. but i definitely want to learn another character thoroughly for this game. who absolutely ridiculously destroys dhalsim in a.e? that’s pretty much all i care about right now. my abel and cammy are trash, and i don’t think adon gives him as big a problem as i first thought he would. do the twins give him a hard time? in super, i’ve totally given up on guile vs sim and i’m not ashamed to admit it. the minute my opponent picks sim and i lose, i switch to vega. i’ve been getting good success rates with vega against pretty high quality dhalsim’s.
I don’t think the Akuma matchup is 4-6 in Guile’s favor in AE. Akuma still has a slight advantage due to Guile’s shitty wakeup and Akuma’s knockdown options. SH is really a big match changer in this matchup cos it limits his air ex fb attempts. To me, it’s like 5.5 to about 6 in Akuma’s favour.
I’m learning a bit of Sagat nowadays as I think he can play a little like Guile to a certain extent at the fb game and he can go even with Yun and Yang, except for Fei. If you really wanna destroy Sim, Yun is a good character. Sim can’t really do anything against Yun at all and if you know how to play Yun right, he gets in on Sim anytime he wants with his godlike divekick recovery. Ken is also good against Sim and gets in for free too if you know how to utilise his tatsu. AE is really about Yun, Fei and Yang. For Guile against Sim, I just try to empty jump and punish his AA knee with c.mp > FK > SH. Or try to bait a slide and sweep. But good Sims push Guile to the corner and it’s game over.
Interesting that Tokido mentioned that about Guile being a hard matchup. Did he mention any particular reasoning? It can’t be only stun and srk damage.
I don’t know, a friend actually posted it on my profile on this other message board site but I don’t think he’s active anymore
Dang poor Guile. You know something’s not right when you got people who play Bison who has a 3:7 MU against him saying the nerfs were over done. I’m not the only Bipson who feels this way.
[S]I still say Honda got what was coming, he was stupid you get hit like 3 times and your dead lol[/S]
I’m seeing more of Evil Ryu and Oni than the twin. Shoto players can probably pick them up easily.
I see more Yang than Yun out of the twin. I played a really good Yang but can’t recall any good Yuns. Most of the Yuns seem to have picked him because they heard he was OP, needed nerfing etc.
Random thought:
The distance that a back throw chucks an opponent. Is it the same distance as when they’re hit by a U2? Recall the ambiguous crossup which Dieminion mentioned awhile back ago.
lol. i don’t think i’ve lost to a single guile with yun yet. yes you read that right. oni is going to be a pain in the ass when people work out that just turtling on guile is the way to win.
same thing with Evil Ryu I feel as well because there’s no way to win the fireball war since they have that fireball that does 3 hits, you’ll just be stuck NJ’ing all day and looking for a way to get in yourself
He says I play like p**** and such. Since he’s a cop and started the whole thing, I used every stereotypical and offensive derogatory term you can say about a cop. This includes saying how he will write traffic tickets for the rest of his life. I also added that I didn’t need his life story.
