You can also KKK c.hp tatsus. Unlike some of the other punishers, KKK c.hp stops Ryu from going on the other side of you before the move comes out.

Does it need to be posted in threads that have nothing to do with combos? That is why there is a thread dedicated to combos, or one for videos. It seems you are just trying to build views to your videos.

5 punch inputs = hands, you’re probably mashing too much.

Just fyi, it’s 5 button presses for any piano move in the game, like blankas electricity and Honda handslap.

Does anybody know the longest meter-less combo that gen has? Just wanna check because I think I’ve found a really good damage combo. If I have then it’s a great Christmas gift :smiley: haha

I’m not sure how character spacific it is but it worked on chun li and a few others i’d tinkered with.
j.hk hk ppp s.mp kkk c.mp H.Jaysen I think it did 333 damage and nearly 500 stun, I was rather proud :slight_smile:

It is indeed character specific, unfortunately I have some trouble executing the switch between mantis back to crane for the c.mp sometimes. I´m not sure which characters the HP roll does not work on though, LP (and I think mp) would work on all afaik.

Its a good combo to do from a neutral jump next to someone, I use it sometimes.

it’s beastly, a friend of mine mains chun and she’s in line for the heavy roll so 333 damage and that’s 1/3 of her health gone >=) ALSO I’m working on something but I don’t think it’s consistent enough to present to the Gen community so I’m keeping it under my hat, but with a broken arcade stick I can’t practice much :frowning:

so… a couple wierd things about rufus.

(m)cr.lk,c.lp,st.mp,st.mkxxxhands does not work on rufus without a jump in. the mk will not combo

on the plus side, something wierd happens when you cross him up with (m)j.mk. i was able to do the following combos

only following mantis cross up mk (probrablly allows for perfect spacing)
- st.mp, st,mp, cr.hk
-st.mp,st.mp, cr.fp
-st.mp,st.mp, cr.mpxxxhands(2hits)

his wierd hitbox makes the second mp hit with the later active frames allowing for some different possibilities

…pretty cool IMO. i have to see if any other characters hitboxes allow this sort of thing

You get more damage if you use crane j. FP to start that combo. Plus you get another 125 stun if you use EX roll

So i started messing with Gen. Always liked him and sick and tired of Vega. Just one thing: What do you guys use as a punishment for whiffed srks etc? I’ve been using st.mp -> st.hp -> lk.gekiro in mantis and cr.mp -> hp roll in crane. Does he have a more damaging punish without using meter?

not really, those are the best meterless punishments you can do with gen in SSF4, excluding jump-ins of course, and unless you have enough time to do a full FA3

but i actually almost never do the crane one, since his crane charge special move require much longer charging time to be ready (pretty much doubled) and i’m not that used to keep the DB charge with gen ready to punish stuff (and keep in mind the HP roll might get blocked if you were too distant with youre crMP), maybe with you maining vega it would be more natural but you’ll easily notice how longer charging times are

you can also do sMP, sMP, sMK xx (HP)Hands, but the gekiro combo ends up being the most damaging anyway

well… sMP, KKK, cMP xx Roll too… but its gonna be pretty hard to keep the charge for the roll if you need to get closer

Arcade Edition will allow for** sMP, HP xx MK xx Gek(LK)** which will be slightly better
