He is OP both american and japan tier lists suggest so and if not then you haven’t faced a Sagat player. I read something saying that no sagat made it to the evo 09 finals(which is true) but if Mago was there then we would be watching Mago vs Daigo in the Evo 09 finals instead of Jwong.

I’m saying what’s the point?

He IS the best in the game, but not overpowered.

Characters can beat him. It’s not like 3s where all you saw was Ken, Yun, Chun all day.

Look at Oogosho. Used Rufus against Mago (and Sagat “counters” Rufus) and beat him at SBO.

Overpowered is:
3s Chun
Mag/Storm/Sent/Cable
5.0 Steve
T4 Jin

so on and so forth.

**Nobodies saying he doesn’t need improvements, but he most certainly doesn’t need to be able to combo into SGS, and that’ll most likely be the case for his second Ultra as well. (unless its a fireball or something)

And Akuma has nothing to worry about. Sagat and Ryu are gonna get the bulk of the nerfing,

I’m saying that to be technical, his ultra is tied with Blanka’s for the most powerful. I said this to be technical because you claimed his ultra to be the 2nd most powerful.

I’m saying he doesnt need improvements.

It would just make him too strong.

It won’t make sense storyline wise (does Capcom care?) but make Kongou Kokuretsuzan his second Ultra.

-Give it the same start up as Viper’s Ultra (with wider range obviously)

-Can juggle off a FADC (DP—>FADC—>:d::d::d::3p:)

-To compensate for the Ultra setup, it has to do less damage than SGS (I don’t know point damage for SF4 so I can’t give a gauge)**

Also, there is little point to make comparative/balance ideas at this point, as they are all based in the wrong frame of reference, that being how good would it be NOW with the other characters as they are NOW. A better way is to simply throw out general ideas based on things he has in other games, all the while keeping in mind that SSFIV will be a very very different game balance wise.

I say this because an ultra Akuma can combo into would break him in SSFIV, but in Super, who knows?

It is fun, I was referring more to the “no, that’s overpowered” mindset.

Like, how could they possibly know whats OP in a game with 20% of the characters not even announced, not to mention all changes to existing characters (like Sagat’s s. rh breaking armor, crushing block, and automatically linking into his ultra on hit).

i would like for his d+mk divekick made available earlier in the jump, it feels to floaty and weird in this game.

but akuma needs to become the beast he was back in the cvs2 / 3rd strike days

gotta give him his fireball super back, and make his teleport a bit safer ,imo

nowadays hes more “run , spam fireballs , hit sick ass 10 hit combos , but hope to god not to get hit more than 3 times” akuma

compared to has old gameplay which was “throwing fireballs isn’t a must, cause my combos and sick specials keep my enemy’s black and blue, and you better hope i dont catch you with the instant hell murder”

Dont get me wrong i didnt mean like rufus/yun/yangs divekicks, more like his own 3s divekick.

I would also like to see Akumas’ normal dive move made more useful. I hardly ever see it being used as of now.

He already has his 3s dive kick.

It’s just slower (but it’s just as good, if not better than 3s because of all the mix-ups it provides.)

I would love to see a return of the 3s “Rush that shit down!” Akuma. I don’t know how they’d do it, but it would be welcomed if they did. However, I don’t want them to give him more runaway tools or improve the runaway/ keepaway tools he already has.

He’s already top tier (if not for shitty stamina, he’d easily be better than Sagat and Ryu), since he’s pretty much untouchable by anyone who has to fight up close. He doesn’t even have to deal with mix ups, since he can pretty much teleport for free.

If Akuma get’s any buffs, I would say give him a comboable ultra. That at least keeps him from having something else to strengthen his keep away game.
