seth’s ultra covers nearly the complete screen. i don’t see a problem in the kkz but it shouldn’t do more than 400 damage.
i still would prefer the demon.
How do you use KKZ as anything but an AA? I thought you could only combo it with juggles?
And having it do 400 damage would make it one of the most broken moves in the game, unless damage scaled by distance from Akuma like in 3rd strike, only doing ~100 if you hit with the tip of the explosion.
Uh…400 damage is only just 2 points more than Ryu’s Ultra…
Since you can’t air block, just like in 3S, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to reset into it
this
The only changes I would make to Akuma would be allowing him to sweep all characters after a ground lp tatsu, changing his super to Messatsu Gohadouken and have it be usable on the ground and in the air, and have his two ultras be Shun Goku Satsu and Misogi.
Agree with this.
But please, make the KKZ’s damage worthy if it’s that difficult to land.
I think any changes to Akuma will break him atm…
Since there are selectable ultras first Raging Demon, second Lightening Fist Ground Smash. Change his Super to the Messatsu Hado.
This makes him seem overpowered, but hey Seth K. said everyone is getting a buff right?
I suppose it would be a relatively simple affair to merely have the KKZ whiff entirely on reset characters, untill they can begin to block, similair to a command grab.
Instant Transmission Shun Goku Satsu!!!
On a more serious note, I’d hate for him to be broken like Sagat is, even though the idea of having an Ultra that’s easier to land (albeit nerfed in damage) sounds appealing.
I don’t know what anyone else thinks though, but how would it be if his Demon Flip throw could be done in the air as well? I’d also like it if his teleport was made to be like it was in 3s where it kinda changed speed depending on which version (PPP or KKK) you used. At least so as to be used as an offensive mix-up tool rather than just a runaway tactic (for the most part).
I’d be happy though with an Akuma that’s very similar to what he is now, just with a few tweaks to his overall package that makes him a more solid character with enough differences to set him appart from Ryu or Ken (kinda like Gouken is).
So, Sagat is broken and Akuma is just solid and needs a comboable ultra with a better teleport?
EL OH EL
Where did you get that outta my post? I said I thought he was solid as he is and didn’t want him to fall into near “god” tier as Sagat is perceived to be. Was it the part where I said that it would be nice if Akuma’s ultra was more reliable (though nerfed, of course)?
How does “more reliable ultra” translate into “comboable ultra”?? I swear, some people look at the join dates and assume the worst…
Perhaps this part of the post is where he got confused.
Well, he is overpowered. I don’t think there are too many people around this forum going: “Yeah, y’know, Sagat’s such a weakling, they should give him a ton of buffs!”.
Besides, I thought this thread was where one could discuss about how to improve Akuma, which I tried to do. And somehow, that was perceived to be wrong! Silly me! Should’ve asked for them to delete Akuma instead!

Akuma is fine. Why fix what ain’t broke?
His ultra is fine, it’s perfectly reliable…it has more options than Guile’s does which is good enough for me.
Once Akuma has ultra, your opponent’s set of tricks gets drastically reduced, as it can punish many, many things. It’s not only threatening just to have it, it’s actually practical to connect with it.
Is he overpowered or broken, you have now said both, and they are two different things.
Depends on the connotation. Broken can, in the sense that “Disgusting” can be used to describe something fantastic, describe something overpowered.
ie. Broken in the sense that it is too good.
I don’t disagree, but there is a difference, broken means he shouldn’t be tourney legal, overpowered just means he’s almost too good but not. Which is he?
As to say I agree with what you said, but you can see in both of his posts that his descriptions sound different.
