Probably a little more priority on his normals… and well, maybe SAI form 3S but just maybe.
1.) Learn the timing better.
2.) It has frigging instant recovery.
I don’t know what has been said in this thread because I haven’t read anything (too much material to read) but this is my stance on Akuma in SSF4:
-Make Super into a cancellable/linkable fireball like 3s (keep ultra the same)
Everything else about SF4 Akuma is pretty much perfect in my opinion.
If they end up making a nerf to Akuma, the only one I think needs to happen is that sweep needs to be unsafe and/or removed as a combo from hurricane. That is debatable to boot.
I don’t think he needs any buffs or real nerfs because he loses due to inconsistencies in the game engine more than anything else (random stuff, mashed uppercuts, etc). His tool set seems fine as is. I’d prefer if his Ultra did not give the opponent 2 and a half bars of meter though.
idk because ryu can easily link Cr. Jab Cr. Jab sweep… at least akuma needs to time his correcly on certain charachters, oh yeah and you need to land a LK tatsu to do it. think a little more on that one please, because if akuma cant knock you down he cant mix you up or set up his zoning again. and when ur fighting Gief or E honda you want them getting up on YOUR terms not theirs.

dude I totally agree with you but mainly on the ultra I have been maining akuma and most of the time I lose because I will set up a perfect raging demon but in the end I might punch them or something by accident and it pushes them and they counter into their ultra or they hit me and set up there combo.
and give him somemore health and decrease sagat so sick of losing to him due to is outragious health and powetr
Play ryu. palm strike is a perfectly fine focus break.
My advise to you is to get better with akuma and buffering the demon. Akumas demon is fine, akuma isnt ment to be noobtastic. akuma is already played by enough scrubs online. if you cant figure akumas ultra in sf4 you need to play sf4 more. landing the demon is easy as hell when/if you know how to use it properly. :tup:
It’s only easy because your opponent does something stupid against you.
Personally I think Akuma should have this moveset. I think it’d help balance him out a bit:

Far as I’m concerned:
Reduce the Damage that Akuma takes by about 15%
Reduce the damage a little bit on his Shun Goku Satsu’s by 10-15%
Give Akuma back his Kongou Koku Retsu Zan (lightning fist ground smash) as his alternate ultra and make it connectable with appropriately scaled damage (less if used in a combo, more if used stand alone)

If you reduce the damage he takes with about 15 percent, he’ll have close to 1000k health and will probably be the strongest character in the game.
Really, why even be conservative with these ridiculous buffs? You might as well say that you want his jab damage to be a one hit kill for Gief.

Everyone knows Akuma needs a Katamari Ball to balance him out…
ill say it again…leave him alone…give him kkz but make it helllla hard to land…that is all. (a tatsu super would be nice)
KKZ might be a bit overpowered with no air blocking/parrying, though, considering that its hit box takes up over 60% of the screen. It would definitely have to do less damage than Ryu’s ultra.
KKZ as an AA would be fucking HORRIFIC. I’d be embarrassed to use it.
Messatsu Gohadouken would be feasible I think. You wouldn’t be able to punish neutral jumps like Ryu can due to the extra animation frames for Akuma’s fireball, so it would pretty much just be for super cancels and air to air battles.
