^ this. Usually, when people talk about Sagat being “broken”, it’s because they think he’s too good, too powerfull. Is there another reason why people say this? Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it takes plenty of skill to use him. But the sad fact is that a lot of beginners can have an easy time by picking Sagat because his power and health advantage over another character like say, C. Viper or Akuma for instance which may have a more varied toolset, but are more difficult to use correctly (at least IMO) and have a health disadvantage.
There wasn’t a different meaning in either my posts. It was both to say the same thing: avoid making Akuma become overly powerfull (and so “broken”) by making his ultra connect more and/or giving him a health boost, etc (I.E. Don’t buff him!!). When I first started playing SFIV, I would’ve agreed with some here that his Ultra is useless, but now that I know how to use it, it’s actually an amazing asset and a real game changer when he has revenge meter. That said, I think it would be actually pretty neat if Akuma was more like Gouken who, even though he’s supposed to be a Shoto character, plays so much differently than either Ryu or Ken (or Akuma). Though I guess that would probably be another way to “break” him…
I’m still new to the game but I think these are reasonable improvements to Akuma:
Ultra doesn’t feed the opponent so much super bars, sometimes I think twice before landing an ultra on Ryu, that damn super of his can really hurt you in the next round!
HP is fine as it is IMO since Akuma can do very damaging combos, but it would be nice to raise his stun to around 900 instead of 850.
I would like for j. down mk to be a little faster or have a tiny bit more hit- and blockstun to make it more viable.
It would also be cool if they removed the voice sample during demon flip startup. Its pretty easy to distinguish a demon flip from a normal jump, so that would increase the mixup potential a little.
True, but scissors never whiff crouching opponents and works far or close. But this is neither here nor there, they are both good moves, and neither is ‘broken.’
I agree but if they did that, do you know how many Misogi whores we’ll have running around out there?..it I great move and I love it but I don’t want it to become a disadvantage towards others unless they make a way out of it besides jumping:china: If they brung the superfireball back, that would be a great touch
sf4 is to much about balance its never gonna have a shin akuma or the like. especially an ultra like misogi its too ambiguous to use u can seriously throw that out and have the opponent guess where its gonna land. meanwhile u urself dont know either.
How do you figure he is fine? please in what way is he fine enough not to give him some upgrades and a combo able ultra or/and super? I swear some people in here needs to just stop posting and clearly do some serious research on specific characters. If your not a serious dedicated Gouki player then don’t post in here.:nono:
