When you say whiff do you mean like you don’t get the Ultra and instead do a running bear grab? Because that’s your executional error.
And every move has some use in street fighter, for example, you can reaction ex rbg some character’s really bad moves, like Chun Li’s flip kick. Granted this isn’t really good at all, but it’s still there. Also, you need the EX Rbg’s properties to o~s armor cancel Zangief’s super. Idk why you think this move is so useless that it just doesn’t deserve to be in the game.
See the problem is RBG is too slow as compared to say HDR were it was worth using that is why most Giefs at high level from what I’ve seen have avoided doing the move more than likely because of the same fact.
Edit: he is talking about real matches not many players would allow Gief to even get that close to use s.lk in that way.
You’re right. It’s an execution error. But it’s not a hard one to make considering the motions, and if you happen to miss by a little bit, you get wrecked by whatever your opponent wants. And it happens at a high level, too. I’ve seen a few pro matches where EX RBG came out instead of U2. The only time you ever really see RBG in live play is when someone makes an input mistake, and it almost always leads to a big time punish. EX RBG can look useful in theory, just like Siberian Blizzard did in Super. But just the same; it’s ass.
I’m not debating that the move isn’t ass, but it’s not entirely useless as seen in the video you use it’s properties in advanced option selects.
I mean yeah the move is bad, but if you mess up you can’t complain about getting punished. A better idea than say taking the move out would be training mode and just more practice.
If you watched the video you can see Desk doing the o~s’s on xbox live.
I don’t recommend removing RBG at all…I really hope Capcom will re-vamp it because it is one of his signature moves…the HDR version of RBG is too good and it’s not going to happen…how about making that move cancellable …maybe something like ELF’s run…press LP and it will stop the animation… it would allow Gief to bait and create more mix-ups.
I really miss the old Gief(as in SF2T) where each SPD would nearly take off 25% to almost 33%…makes Gief sooo dangerous and exciting to watch.
another thing I want Capcom to fix is the cr lp hitbox after splash a crouch opponent
this whiff is so fucking annoying, especially now cr lk is 0-frame link, so had to use cr lp more often.
I like trolling online with RBG, but I’d have to agree it’s pretty fucking useless. The “uppercut” (cr.MP I think?) should have a similar hitbox to Sakura’s or Makoto’s. Otherwise, I agree he is balanced well besides horrible Akuma/Sagat matchups…
No, it’s not. Seriously, guys, if you think RBG is a bad move, stop using it. And if you do it by mistake, just try to improve your skills and execution, but don’t blame your greed on Capcom’s choices.
If your opponent jumped and you got an RBG instead of the wanted supplex, then you shouldn’t have tried to grab him in the first place. What comes after is pure logic : YOU did a mistake, YOU are punished, nothing wrong here. Then again, if you missed a timing/input and got an ex RBG instead of Ultra 2 (for example), you’re the only person responsible for that mistake. Just learn how to perform the motion in order to activate U2 right after you left the ground, nobody can do that for you.
And I repeat : RBG is NOT useless. Just because you don’t know what to do with it doesn’t mean it’s shit.
People thinking that rbg isn’t useless just blows my mind. It’s probably worse than the people who thought the new ex.gh was actually a buff lol. I’m sorry but if u think rbg is a good move or has an actual purpose then u have no clue or u just suck ass.
