For all the characters Gief got better vs because of their nerfs, same amount of characters that he was even or 4-6 vs got notably better. Thinks Juri, thinks Gouken, thinks DJ, thinks Adon, thinks Ken, thinks lp srk trade ultra Ryu…
and he will still suck vs chun, sagat and akuma…the tourney mainstays

Zangitan got a free SPD on one green hand connect. Wouldve gotten another if he SPD’s instead of jabbed on another connect. And Akuma teleported once. And once Zangitan was looking for a reaction and preemptively backdashed. I fail to see how that’s bad. Not only that but knockdown on Akuma wouldn’t matter anyway because he teleports on wakeup consistently. Tokido blocked post GH a lot that match. If Zangitan didn’t respect him as much he wouldve gotten more damage. It’s day one. And Akuma is a bullshit example since I’d you were running se wakeup pressure on him in Super you’re amazing.
I can just see it now. No KD with EXGH in Sagat match up is going to be a nightmare… I don’t know. Maybe it will be just as tough as before. But one big advantage gief has against Sagat was on his wake up because he’s so tall and the cross up splash can be very ambiguous and he can’t just mash TU on wake up to get out.
SPD after EXGH is not free. I don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s a guess. If Akuma back dashes, or shoryus, then gief eats big damage. KD on Akuma is important because you can os green hand to keep him from teleporting. Now that option is gone because you don’t get the KD! STOP IT WITH THE POINTLESS ARGUING!
To be fair Akuma has one of the best wakeups in the game vs most of the cast anyway. As others said, blowing through a sagat TS and running a wake up on him is a thing of the past. That match up gets harder, the KD was the ONLY thing that kept Gief from being massacred a-la seth.
Plus, knees > lp GH chase to o-s GH was a viable tactic on akuma, now gone.
That spacing after the exgh hit is great not to much pushback. Lp sweep os range, spd ,lariat you have lots of options with the minimal pushback. And it’s 1 hit so combos will be scaled less so more damage. I am looking forward to the new gief should be fun.

Looking at the new EXGH in motion is not only weird, but saddening. The lack of a knockdown is ass. Absolute ass.
Supposedly, Daigo is really afraid of the new Geif. His other buffs are supposed to be helpful. How EXGH affects all of the matchups in the game is yet to be seen. I’m not very optimistic tho. . .
Look, EX Green Hands is better against some characters, and worse against others. It is neither a direct buff nor a direct nerf. Let us also not forget that we are playing against people. If EX Green Hands hits, it will come as a surprise, unless someone is a masochist and likes to be hit. If you hit through sonic boom, do you really think Guile’s going to be ready and mentally prepared to retaliate? Let us not forget that we are playing people as well as characters.

LP SPD range has been extended, so:
if you EX GH them from right in their face and they backdash afterwards, are they still in SPD range
If the above is NO, then surely backdash or up+back wins every time? With EX GH at +1 I don’t see how they can make cr.lk 3 frames again?
What role does far standing hard punch (if any) have to play after EX SPD?
I actually think the sagat match will be easier now, personally i find myself at my most dangerous when we are both standing and I am in his face

Zangeif can punish backdashes without SPD. . . Some like rose and chun are difficult but if you know they are going to backdash, you can punish it.

Also I never see you on streams at big tourneys it’s so weird with how good and how much of a rep you have. Also I have trouble finding your gameplay footage on YouTube.
