You must be referring to the A3 days about air throw and I agree it’s stupid he has little to no throw invincible moves or an armor breaker for that matter.

@Sswyu it’s lack of match-up experience he didn’t know that plus it was mentioned NorCal has little to no good Yun players.

yes…also in ST he had 2 regular air throws. even hakan has a stupid air throw…shit…now without the KD EXGH i think el fuerte can scape without a scratch doing his ex run.

If you EX-Green Hand Ex-run will absorb both hits and El Fuerte escapes. Ex run loses to normal throw, spd, and ultra.

Juri’s normal fireballs do not go full screen - so when she has made a lot of space and is throwing fireballs out, you can whiff your grab to build some meter before you advance again.

Maybe someone can clarify this situation for me.

If I spd too early and the opponent just stands there, then it can whiff (like they’re still in hitstun).
But exgh is +1 on hit, and spd is 2 startup and 2 active. Why doesn’t it connect?

At certain ranges HP and MP SPD will whiff after Ex. GH, try using jab SPD after far Ex. GHs.

Edit: Jab SPD can still whiff from very far distance Ex. GH.

What he is talking about is not about the range. If you did close ex GH then mashed lp SPF it would whiff, but theoretically it should not, based on the frame data.

I’ve heard that the unthrowable time is not exactly equal to the block/hit stun. I think people are actually unthrowable for 2 additional frames after block/hit stun ends. That’s if I remember correctly. It may be 1 frame or it may not be true at all…I can’t remember where I read it. But it SEEMS to be true judging by this, otherwise there shouldn’t be any way for an SPD to whiff if EXGH really is +1 on hit.

You guys have to stop mashing 360p after an ex-gh on hit, if you delay the input slightly it will always throw them (as long as they’re not doing something that’s unthrowable).

During 2 frames after any recovery (wakeup, hitstun, blockstsun), a char is unthrowable.You want your throw to be active on the first frame after these 2.
I thought people on the Gief forum would be very familiar with this detail.

Gief has throws active on frames 1&2 (U1), 2&3 (SPD, 360K), 3&4 (normal throws), 4&5 (ex SPD).
So you lookup frame data for a normal (hit or block), add 2 frames and select your throw. Can be done on hit and on block.

So if you hit exgh, you’re +1, you have to wait 2 additional frames so you look at a throw active on frame 4 (== frame 3 after opponent’s recovery, as frame 1 and 2 are unthrowable).
=> no linked SPD, you have to delay it 1 or 2 frames.

Maybe I’m crazy but I don’t think I’m delaying my timing on the spd after greenhand. I’m pretty sure I’m mashing it out and haven’t had a problem with wiffs. But who knows I’m no good with frame data and it really doesn’t mess me up I can land ultras or spd’s or u2’s after gh no problem. Also who’s backdashes can you catch with u2 after a exgh hit I don’t think it works vs gen or cammy.

I doubt it. given the fact that El Fuerte’s Guacamole now has increased recovery, getting hard knockdown’d by Gief is a million times more frightening. EX Run does take two hits, but it can still be grabbed.

on another note about EX Run. if he hits the wall he will turn around and run forward, this resets the hits, allowing him to take two more, for a maximum of 4 hits.
