SSF4 AE: Revenge of the Orbs

One word. CAPCOM.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, I’m just trying to understand.
As a player and a fan, what should I do or how to
Plan. Cause as deep down as it goes there’s a srs task at hand.
Cetainly this is pretty plain to see. As learning how to troll is a simple
Objective for me. And deep down I know just who’s the
Man, cause just look at what they did to Seth and his two fans.

To cut a story short, and make a dead poet weep.
They want to nerf this shit harder then they nerfed Rose’s sweep.
Capcom looks at the players, and scours the lands.
But no one do it like Capcom, they don’t stop trollin the fans.

There will always be people on both sides of an argument, we’ll just have to wait and see which side the developers agree with. As easy and fun as it is blaming Capcom for everything they don’t like, it’s silly to think developers are actively trying to upset players.

It’s unfortunate that we can’t have a calm discussion about something without doing everything and anything to win an argument (random numbers, personal attacks, gross oversimplifications, taking things out of context, etc). But I guess that’s the nature of the internet.

On topic- I’m thinking this initial report of the SS change was from someone who doesn’t main Rose/understand the details on how the ultra currently works. It will be interesting to see if it changes, but I’m hoping that don’t change its startup. It’s an easy ‘nerf’ target though, and I guess they can’t really make it worse in any other way, since all of its other properties are just about as bad as can be… but I guess that’s just my opinion. Maybe remove/lower the chip damage? Would people complain less about it then?

man, i had to make my last stop here after coming from the seth boards to thank capcom,from making the worst match up in the game (seth vs gief) an actual match now judy by getting rid of one normal… J. HP . Rose, now, is going to actually take skill to use rose,and u2 properly and no more get out of jail free cards with that bs ass ultra now, watch the scrub rose players drop like flies and truthfully skill ones move on to continue to get high level… now capcom just do me one last favor… nerf her backdash then i will give all praising to you… ok peace

uh…Rose Always took skill in the SF4 series. So you can stop all that trolling. This isn’t the Fei Long forums after Summer Jam.

Rose didn’t take that much to learn the basics though.

Rose is very very very basic.

Using the basics to the perfection. It’s hard to do.

U2 would be too good if the damage was higher or if rose had another good reversal. Currently it works like many other ultra’s if you jump into it…the problem is people are use to jumping in on rose for free and not get punished, or mashing on low forwards … Those that don’t do that don’t have a problem with U2.

Her ultra is a safe momentum swing…

It sucks that you can’t use it as a safe reversal anymore but meh… Hopefully she gets a buff somewhere else and no nerfs.

So far her changes could have been worse. They are some bad ideas out there.

yes rose did take skill in VANILLA No one really played rose, even though she was slept on hardcore. Honestly she doesn’t take that much to pick up. She has good normals, scracth that god like normals, good damage, good stun, good health but before she had no good reversal. The only thing she had was the person ability to just block. Which most players don’t know how to do. I respected rose players to the fullest in vanilla but now, its like just because of one ultra everyone is picking her up.

When I first played SSFIV, I didn’t play SFIV beforehand. When my father bought SFIV out of surprise, I decided to try it out. I noticed that Rose was a bit harder to use in Vanilla due to longer recovery on her Soul Sparks, and no juggling properties on her Soul Reflect. When I played it online, I had about a 10-win streak with Rose. I was surprised, although it could be a lack of match-up knowledge. She is always a fun character to use/learn, if anyone picks her up. Even though there has been more Rose players since SSFIV came out, Rose is still underestimated, especially on the tournament scene.

Really? I still feel people sleep on Rose and till this day, still don’t even understand U2 because they don’t bother to learn about it. People like Art and Luffy are helping people realize the girl has potential. But I haven’t seen any sudden rise of Rose players outside the same people playing her since vanilla/Super dropped.

Rose always was hard she was my vanilla main… i even customised a stick with her on it … truth is i went to tournaments and persons say no rose can even beat them… etc etc… but I stuck to her… 50% win rate I stuck with her… the next fucking person who says she is so easy needs to stfu… try getting a person off your ass that has a decent 50/50 and pressure and rushdown… try getting knocked down against ppl with solid mixups try learning never to rely on an ultra because it was so easy to block/punish and coming to a new game where she isn’t that different but got a few tweaks now she is bust and broken well FUCK YOU!.. i hate ppl disrespecting my wins saying all you gotta do is mp drill… seriously?.. she takes more skill than half the cast because ur basics gotta be TIGHT… rose is sweat!.. rose is tears!.. rose is being tough!..:karate:

There’s definitely been a rise in Rose’s im sure just because of her new ultra and how “OP” it was. Once the update comes along, then we’ll see the real players who can adapt. I just looked at the list of updates/ nerfs on the rest of the cast, and we honestly dont have it as bad as others. All her normals are still intact, and thats all i really care about.

rose’s normal have already been nerfed from vanilla… they wont renerf it lol.

I thought it was an even trade where cr. jab got worse, cr. short got better, cr. mp got better, cr. mk is the same, cr. fierce got better cr. round house got worse, soul piede got worse and slide got worse. Also, I will mention that all her standing shit stayed the same (I believe).

Cr.short and cr.mp got better? I dont noticed anything different with them compared to SF4 and the frame data is the same, I think. Same thing with slide i don’t think it got worse, i could be wrong about all of this, so i just wanted to ask.

Also someone posted a little bit back about making Peide an OH, while I have dreamed of this an think it would make the move more effective I can understand why ppl are against it now and when i said it a while ago going into ssf4 (though if it happened I would be more than fine with it, actually I would be glad just to have the old frames back for it on hit and block) but i do think rose could get an OH out her nj.mk(it would be 30x better than nj.lk), i think it might need faster start up to do that though, don’t know.

I don’tget why they dont buff her far.Hp hitbox so it matches up with animation better( i can still get the scarf to about half of ken’s chest without hitting him). I think if they did buff it, that move would be come a staple for Rose’s foosties. I make do with it as is but i see its potential. Hoping they make cr.mk 5-6 start up (i think 7 is to slow) and +4 on hit that 1f to cr.mp would be great imo.
