Sorry i disagree with you. There a lot of stuff that are FREE in this game. There is nothing more free than a mashaed Shoryuken between links to FADC to ultra, and i dont think should be excluded too…El furte ultra 2 is free.
If we take out everything that is slighty strong in this game all that will remain will be a boring game.
Rose is fine as she is including her ( NOT OVERPOWERED ) ultra 2.

I wanna see you hit U2 on me. Rose’s close st. mk just irks out of that. It’s one of those things you have to watch out for, but it isn’t free.
Rose does have an overpowered U2. Anything that puts you in an advantageous position 100% of the time is broken, sir.
i thought this thread was for talking about our opinions on changes that may or may not happen in a patch that who knows when will come to consoles…um no?
I’m more interested in what other changes will be made to other characters. I think that gives a better balance picture of where Rose sits against others.
What I’m not interested in seeing is the same 5-6 characters dominate even more. I’ve been surprised in the past, so who knows, maybe these changes are for the better?
maybe I’m a bit retarded and just not a good player at all, but confirming orbs into cr.HP at wake-up is actually hard to do for me due to the many scenarios that may ensue.
They block, any fast C HP loses you the orbs and even worse frame-advantage if you drill or just stick with it
They dont block but arent point blank, the Cr. HP lmay or may not hit due to push-back
They are seemingly atacking: now you might counter that attack with reversal, or you may simply just get hit the next frame losing everything.
They are in the middle of active frames: you can bet on the fact that they will be out of it when the orbs hit, or you can attack but lose to the meatie.
They arent doing anything: but they can EX you immediately
These scenarios made me believe that cr.hp to any combo was not a good idea after activation outside of a combo. I whiff and die to often due to chaos. If you hit it, imo, you deserved the damage.
I choose cr. mp upon confirmation just to be safe. Using that, the damage aint that great. Btw, to get 500 you need a lot more than cr.HP xx drill, cause scaling that would do 240+100+100 without scaling.
The combo you mention; do you land that often? Really?
Guy that was saying EX moves and throws and stuff can go through U2: yeah, if you sit there and let them, they can blow through an orb with an invincible move. If you block, they get hit by another orb or you can punish them for doing that. If someone manages to command throw you out of the move, he worked for it and had a good read on you.
Spark FADC > U2 combos do really nice damage. You can’t really say it has low damage output when the move makes so many combos possible. It’s a move you can START combos with, whereas all the other ultras end combos and suffer scaling. If SS hits, you don’t have to spend any meter to attempt a safe half life combo. If you were Ryu or someone with DP FADC > ultra, you’d have to be spending 50% meter (plus ultra) to get that.
Yet, when I meet roses, and see higher-level Rose vids, those occurrences of high-damage Ultra are quite rare. Making me conclude that it’s not all that OP than some here say it is.
And euh, filipin0man, you will be hard pressed to find anyone with more theoretical knowledge about Rose than me. Really. Quit the arrogant attitude.
If there’s anything you can say about orbs it’s that it’s hard to pin down due to randomness. Possible that high-level players can make decisions much better judging the frames during freeze and the frames after initial hit, but it’s very hard against a cast of 35 chars who react differently. You CAN get high damage out of oit, we’ve seen the combo vids, but I haven’t seen it yet in matches.
You understand why? This Ultra is not only for the high damage, but it’s the reason why it gives you the advantageous position from anywhere you do it from.
When you activate it and they back away, you have 2 orbs that follow you around and you’re off the ground, which puts you in a position where Rose shines.
Sure you always have your easy 400-500 damage combos that you do get, depending on how respectful your opponent is to you, but it’s mainly used for wake up, and the whole point is that the ultra should not just stop offense like that.
If you don’t understand where I’m getting at, then that’s cool. But having the ability to do MASSIVE damage and having the ability to have them respect you with no downfall when you activate it is pretty damn broken.
We can theory fight all day if you would like, still doesn’t make the ultra any less broken.
If it was broken the way you said, we should’ve seen results by now. We’ve seen Sabin using footsies U1 to win a tournament, and Luffy winning with footsies and excellent reading from a Ryu.
The list would be very different if we were talking about Sagat SF4 U1
