SSF4 AE: Revenge of the Orbs

K haven’t read through this thread much so i don’t know if any of this has been posted. Was playing casuals here in NY and i’ve noticed that against yun you can stuff dive kicks with, Cr.Heavy (duh), standing jab (unsafe) and Ex Soul Spiral also slide trades. You can screw with yuns wakeup game pretty well.

Personally i think U1 is just the better choice now since this game is soo much more offensive, you can catch people dive kicking and doing stupid stuff.

Are u sure ShinkuuR? I was sure it’s not 7 Frames damn. Why would they mess up her Ultra in terms of combo abilitys O_o

its seems the st goes more vertical im not sure, so if the height got more range and the grab range was increased, does this make a viable option to aa with along with cr.hp, or is dosent matter bc the hurtboxes, hitboxes or whatever make it so that u can get hit out of it relatively easily unless i missed something and they changed that to.

also after day 1 of ae, even though i had to deal with the twins and fei’s bs i dont feel the need to drop rose even if its day 1, lets see if it stays that way lol(this is from playing matches all f**in day)

It took me 7 whiffed Soul Throws to get a bar for me, and I still have Super. 6 whiffed was basically a bar though, like a blocked jab would’ve probably gotten me a bar.

Played Rose a few times yesterday while my friend was playing his crappy and inexperienced Yun.
She feels the same, Orbs are still a good anti-air and pressure tool. Wake up ex-drill takes the place of wake up u2 even though it’s not safe. I always had meter when I played her, I guess I ever threw many fireballs. I don’t mind the revenge meter nerf, since honestly that was pretty broken.

I did this a few times as well, it was a pleasant surprise.

I got knocked down by a Hakan and got so fucking scared >_>

the yellow box next to her scarf is her throwable/grab box, the green hit box is still the same but has adjusted proportions for the shorter range in ae
seems to me like just a nerf, with no buff, unless they changed how fast her standing hit box lifts off from the ground during the move’s startup, but i doubt it

It’s a lil nerf + a nice buff. Look at the hurtbox from her dress in Super.

Is the throwable box still a hurtbox? There’s DEFINITELY a difference. I used to get my st.mk stuffed by shoto cr.mks and now it beats them out every time.

Instead of speculating, just be happy the move even feels better.

Because if it feels better, it usually means that it is better.

Slide can’t whiff on Rose anymore :(.

The yellow hitboxes aren’t throwable boxes, the long horizontal one is for proximity blocking, and the other ones are pushblocks. Her throwable box is the blue outline. None of those should be able to be hit by an attack hitbox, at least it wouldn’t do anything. As for it losing to a cr.forward or something, the move does have startup frames, 6 of them in fact. Who knows, maybe they made it a frame faster to compensate for the hitbox change, which no matter how much I look at it, only looks like they just moved it back basically. As for beating lows with st.forward, I beat cr.forwards from shotos all the time with it in Super.

If you walk forward vs blanka/rose and they do slide, it whiffs on super. I guess it doesn’t on AE.

Day 2 training room stuff…

Oni:

-his dp+k can be focused and ex soul thrown(regular ones work but most of the time you’ll get beat.) All of them but the FK version are at least -4 on block.
-his hcf+k moves can be thrown before the punch comes out. Also, if you see the mk and fk you can slide him, allowing you to counter the mk one and slide past the second one. If you’re gutsy you can time a jab so when he goes past you with the fk one, you will turn around and hit him before he hits you.

-rekkas seem to have a bigger hitbox or something, it hit me out of c.mk instead of getting stuffed at certain distances, never did that in super.

ShinkuuR, that’s BIG in Super. Gave you the power of Blanka to walk forward and not be scared. Now you have to be scared ;/
