Well if rose lost invul frames on wake up reversal ultra 2, then vega is free to force her to blocm and eat chip damage with cst.hp. Because of ultra dos, I couldnt do this on her wake up giving me no incentive to pressue and use vegas great options agaknst rose on her wake vb up. Sadly nerf on ultra dos doesnt give that edge bacj because vega got shafted badly. So my thing is ash e wil be free to moves like vegas cst.hl again provided said character has mix up options thT hurt. Like vega did in super.

I know her U2 is changed. I’m not even crying over it, whats done is done.
Her mix-ups, and other shenanigans I use with U2 arent gone. But all I want to know at this point is, what am I getting in return? What valuable changes have they done to her, as far as Wake-Up options are concerned.
And to be honest, giving me an ultra that opens up in 0 frames so I can compensate and forget the fact that Rose has a horrible Wake-Up game is stupid. How about they fix that instead so I can save my Ultra in clutch situations. I know how to block and backdash, and thats about all you need to know with Rose, other than activating U2 as we speak.
It doesnt seem like where getting anything. The very least they could do is add 2-4f of invinc to SSpiral. I guess the whole reasoning behind her bad reversal is based on how she was in the Alpha series but, this aint alpha rose(if couldnt tell by rose’s low/midcore damage) so they need to get over that shit and tune up somethings, or give her a aphal cancel. (the one with card would be nice.lmao)
SO uhm seeing how the ords will still be active etc when she gets hit won"t it hit them afterwards thus removing the pressure, or am i way off track? >_<

If she gets hit with a meaty attack, the orbs don’t appear.
Unable to do super when fb is on screen is ok, good player never get hit by this.
Unable to do u2 on wakeup is like playing with vanilla Rose. On some matchups it can still be viable, like sim, chun, guile… BUT fei/viper/gouki is gonna be hell again.
So, overall.
SF4 => SSF4 = nerf of normals, get some combos + u2.
SSF4 => SSF4 AE = nerf of u2
SF4 => SSF4 AE = nerf of normals. COOL.

Depends. If u are asking me if i prefer sf4 rose vs the sf4 cast, i would say sf4 rose. But if it’s sf4 rose vs ssf4 cast, i would pick ssf4 rose.
Rose got up in the tier list in ssf4, not only thanks to her u2 and combos, but it’s also coz the top char are dealing less dmg and got eventually nerfed.
For me the U2 nerf doesn’t matter because I won’t be playing the AE anyway… it’s not coming to the consoles as a download is it?
But second of all, I won most of my matches just fine with U1, and I love U1 anyway. It’s just gonna take some adjusting again on wake up.
Oh well Rose players can still use it while it last. AE probably won’t be here(console) for a good while anyhow.
Rose will still be solid hopefully but we still gotta see the changes as a whole to the game.
I need to get my ass on the competitive scene lol. I use Chun but ppl have said my Rose is annoying which is good.
I’ve also been trying to analyze whether or not match ups will get easier or harder even without Ultra 2.
Because from what I’ve heard, lk scissors is -3 on block, which is JAB punishable, no more relying on U2.
A lot of Rose players can live v Rufus using U1.
Cammy is still gonna be hard.

The only ones that will really still pose a threat is Gief and cammy at the moment. Not so much cammy now that Cannon strike got nerfed. That match will definitely come down to who has better footsies/spacing.
I don’t see how Gief is more of a challenge with the U2 nerf. I mean, you catch him missing one SPD attempt, or not focus cancel a blocked EX Green Hand, and it can set up combos leading into U2 if you’re proper with spark FADC combos.
Everything you named should have been in SF4 from the jump anyway(minus u2,we should have had slightly better reversal though). Didnt we all pretty much agree that ReflectxxSThrow looked like it was made to combo back then and that reflects always felt kind off in FB wars. Everyone pretty much agreed rose was a concles character that missed out on her full potienal (She’s still a few steps away now,but she has taken a big step foward).
It’s not that the matchup was any different with U2 present. But now that Gief doesn’t have anything to stop him from constant crossup mixups after knockdown, once Gief is in, he’s pretty much staying in if you guess wrong. So now instead of actually having U2 stop Gief from doing whatever he felt and take a minute to back off you, U2 is reduced to just keeping gief out to let them waste the timer on U2 or just EX Green hand through to be back in.
Of course this is if you’re using U2 in this matchup.
