The next announcement regarding AE changes will be coming tonight, so we’ll see if she did get any changes besides her U2 (most likely, they’re going to fix it). Worst case scenario, she’s just like how she was in Vanilla, with a few buffs (being able to combo after Soul Reflect into Soul Throw, etc.).
I always say this in my mind and i’ll say it here. Rose’s U2 is ok the way it is compared to what other characters get away with.
I still say that any time you need to have Ultra meter just to have a viable reversal, then people shouldn’t complain about it. I mean, its IS really flexible and basically low risk, but if you have to basically lose half your life just to gain one great reversal tool, that’s a fair trade imo. If it gets nerfed I won’t drop her, but it will be a stupid decision especially when I know we won’t get anything to compensate.
Out of curiosity, what are you basing this assumption on?
and just as most thought, U2 gets nerfed and gains nothing in return. Not at all surprised. Enjoy your new main Renegade.

Rose
- Made it so you can’t do an Aura Soul Spark if a Soul Spark is displayed, Super cancelling works the same though
- Soul Satellite big change(s), considering balance, the invincibility frames have been removed
Why did they even give her a super trap?
this is capcom the guys who made marvel 2, third strike, cvs 2… need i say more?
I guess it isn’t surprising. She can’t use Super while orbs are currently out, and now she can’t use them if a Soul Spark is flying across the screen?
It’s like you can’t use Ryu’s super unless the Hadouken fully passes the screen.

the Spark>ASS screen trap isn’t even a big thing considering it’s dirt easy to hit confirm off drill. I wouldn’t even consider this a nerf.
i’ll still use U2 as lately i’ve been using it more as a offensive tool anyway, but now Gief can cross her up with no worries after a knockdown.
Is the super change the same with Ryu? If it is, I imagine it is one of those across the board changes… not that there are that many fireball supers out there.
As for the ultra 2, I don’t mind saying as a Rose main that it is currently the best ultra in the game. You can use it mid combo, you can use it at neutral to push them to the corner, you can option select it, you can anti-air with it, and you get to react to the opponent during ultra freeze for free. The truly overpowered aspect of it though, is that you can turn your wakeup disadvantage around completely to advantage, 100% guarunteed for free (risking only chip damage). There is no other move in the game that allows that… at best there are escape moves that put you back to neutral or srk fadcs that can whiff completely.
Now, don’t for a second think that I believe Rose herself is currently overpowered. If the above are the only changes that she has, I’ll still main her though. What I think fair though is to see ex spiral have that 1 extra frame of invincibility. I’m tired of being thrown/crouch tech out of it.
I really don’t mind U2 being nerfed. But the fact we don’t get a small buff in something like EX Soul Throw or EX Drill is bothersome.
Damn I’m still not sure what it means for U2, I can’t react immediately after activating it?
And I’m a little disappointed in the super trap removal which I found a little more useful in the Honda & Gief match ups, I can live with it though.
We don’t have as bad as many of the other characters…
i really made use of that trap lol aww darn. thank goodness her normals are fine =] and some of the “top” tier characters wont be receiving the same treatment warms my heart <3
I think they’re still translating some of the changes, but based on the overall summary, it seems she isn’t getting any buffs. Rose is now vulnerable once again on wake-up as she was in Vanilla. Now the orbs are going to be useless, unless you activate them from far away. In that case, isn’t there a better chance that you’ll be hit out of it?
Pretty much. But some characters who are getting nerfed don’t need it more than a simple buff. But capcom doesn’t know the meaning of Buff.
Yep. Depending on how many frames are on it after activation. So if someone does a meaty attack and you wakeup ultra, you can’t block. You’ll get hit out after the freeze and be orbless.
…And again, no one knows what the U2 nerf means since Rose wasn’t invincible upon activation in the first place. If that means she can’t block right after activation, then the ultra will lose it’s main purpose and will be almost worthless. If it means the orbs come out later upon activation allowing the opponent a chance to block or something, then I can deal.
I can deal with not being able to super when a spark is already on the screen.
For awhile now i’ve been thinking that the twirl animation when the orbs come out happen outside the freeze animation or osmething down that line. But it is hard to really gripe at all when we can’t see any vids of it and people are still not getting she had any startup invincibility from the get go.
