SSF4 AE Guy Changes

That’s a bit of an upset.

So that must mean run overhead is at least +3 on hit now. Its +2 in Super.

Nope because st.hk>bushin chain punishes that shit easily now.

Only character I’m worried about is Guile flash kick.Hes crouching in his recovery.

When in doubt about punishin crouching recoveries, I’ve been trying to incorporate cl.HP,MK tatsu. It does really good stun and damage, more than the standard mp>hp>lp.hozanto. If you want your opponent knocked down close to you however, that’s another thing.

I think it was acidicAnima who confirmed that st.hk punish works on guile’s fk so that says a lot on how good the hitbox is now

Had my first jam on AE today against a Bison and found a lot of success stuffing scissor kicks with cr.mk. I remember someone posting that the hitbox was extended but can anyone confirm if it was also heightened?

Guile literally crouches at one point during FK recovery… if Cl.HK works 100% on him… its safe to say that its gonna hit alot of crouchers (big guys like Sagat,Gief,Hawk) … Making it an awesome frame trap…

Yeah on console you can HK slide under Seth’s and Gouken’s projectiles. I havent tested everyone else. I assume because Seth and Gouken are taller it works. Sorry if its old news…saw the subject of going under projectiles.

So, This_Is_K1 and I both went to Arcade UFO and we both agreed that Guy still feels pretty much the same. There was nothing that major that changed that we could tell, but we didn’t get a whole lot time playing.

Well if a Guy player named Lord Otaku can go 396-4 in AE on a 400 game set … I think somethings have changed there…

Guys changes are subtle but they improve his strengths so much.Hes just solid in AE.

Also if OTK went 396-4 then surely that means hes got the highest win streak in AE so far?That T.Hawk player got like a 99 win streak.

He was solid already in SSF4, duh. He had some inconsistencies but overall he worked well. Now he’s just flat out strong.

I noticed there’s no such topic yet, (the AE thread is mainly for discussion) so I’d say it would be good to have one.

In the list I’ll add (?) where I’m not sure, because there’s been a lot of talking about certain things (but without proper confirmation), so somebody please confirm those. I’ll use as + buff, - as nerf, +/- as neutral (if there are any neutral changes)

  • cl.HK hitbox is bigger

  • st.MP hitbox is bigger

  • st.MK has less recovery/startup

  • target combo hitbox is improved

  • cl.MK has better frames on block/hit

  • f+MP overhead is two hits and has better frames on block/hit

  • d+HK slide has more active frames (?)

  • c.LK is 3 frames of startup

  • EX Run -> slide has fireball invincibility

  • EX Run timing for followups is the same as the regular version now

  • EX Run -> Stop follow up has Super Armor

  • Super does more damage, and fixed some problems with it not connecting after a combo

  • hp Hozanto faster (?)

  • Hozantos have better frames on block

  • lk/mk tatsus have less recovery (?)

  • run -> overhead recovers faster (or is just the c.LK buff that makes it combo afterwards?)

+/- lk tatsu has upperbody invincibility (has it lost throw/lower body invincibility?)

+/- st.LP hitbox moved up

  • Bushin Flip throw damage nerfed from 200 to 180

  • cl.MP has less hitstun/blockstun (?)

If there are any more changes, please point them out.

I think either Run Overhead has better hit/blockstun or it recovers faster cause on hit I believe it did +2

I think Kiryu mentioned on his blog that LP and MP Hozantos are now -1 and -2. Dunno about the HP version. Someone test that out. I don’t think the EX version changed though. Anyways, confirmations would be nice. :stuck_out_tongue:

thats nice for mp hozz. I wish ex hozz was safe cause it has no invincibility and not much range as well but w/e. I believe kiryu and maybe some other guy players posted new shit on twitter and JBB (or w/e the site is) but no one here speaks reads japanese as far as I know. If someone passes by this thread who might be interested to check what the japanese have said about guy’s changes, that would be cool.
