They should give her an overhead and that hooligan dive kick from CVS2.
i cant deal with this… oh my god… why cant they leave things as they are…
im so heart broken…
now i know how Gen players felt when they removed his mk hands combo…
80% of my game is Strikes…
SSF4 Cammy is still 100 times beter without TKCS then SF4 Cammy with TKCS.
Stop whining. Everything is not finished. Just hope Sako (and Kindevu if he plays Cammy) do(es)n’t make the first round of God’s Garden Online #2.
Go Daigo! And nerf Ryu!!!
lol…they haven’t changed cammy that much from vanilla fam…stop it lol
I can actually see why cause she can build crazy meter if left alone. But that takes away from all mix ups. Damn. Is there a way to contact them.
Drop them an e-mail, thus causing Capcom to change their long-term planning and their respective development team to redesign plans for SSF4 : Arcade Edition.
It can happen.
ps. If you are in need of more assistance, these people might offer solutions as to how to remedy the situation (vast experience) : Gen
As some one who spent a long time mastering the TKCS I admit this is a serious blow for me as well, yet I’m not going crazy just yet. Aside from the fact that this is in the testing phase and thus TKCS could very well come back before the game’s release, we really don’t have a strong idea of her other changes (or even the full breadth of the changes to the rest of the cast). For all we know Cannon Strike is an over head now, or she has a myriad of other small but meaningful undiscovered buffs? I will say that as much as I was happy with Cammy as she already was, I do like the direction they seem to be taking with these changes, trying to make her more accessible. I know a lot of people liked how tricky she was to use, kept her from becoming over used, but in my opinion a well made fighting game makes every character as accessible as possible to players of all skill levels. Cammy’s tricky TKCS motion and lack of target combos necessitating a lot of tricky links was a big barrier for some player to use her, from the sound of it that barrier has been removed.
So yeah, I’m not happy TKCS is gone, but I’m not unhappy either, at the moment I’m just going to with hold judgment till we have more information. And besides, even if it does stay gone, and even if she did drop a few tiers because of it, I’ve mained her in other games where she was consider bottom tier and didn’t even have cannon strike, so I’ll likely keep repping her regardless.
While I agree that characters should be accessible I think that a good character should also have room to grow and adapt as the player gets better. Ryu for example is an easy character to pick up and still holds his own at high levels of play. I mean look at Viper, the execution required to play her at a high level is ridiculous and not really “noob” friendly.
Although I will say that if the CS now hits overhead I will take back anything I ever said about Ono, and I’ve said alot.
amen to this. i went through it last version with gen. anyways making her normals easier to combo and removing normal tkcs sounds like some suggestions a scrub who can’t tkcs and sucks at combo’s would make -_-;
This. I have built my entire offense on TKCS and am very close to mastering it. Taking it away just means we have ST Cammy again. Time to get rolled by every character with a charge move.
Very Very disappointed. Somethings gotta give. TKCS was my one-stop-shop to beating throw techs, and with that gone, what the fuck am I gonna do to mixup my opponents (abel)?
I digress.
Make Cannon Strikes hit overhead now, then I won’t consider this a huge nerf. Actually, Its not totally bad since I only use this move situationally, but still, it was my meter builder from full screen as well a nice mixup option. I’m thinking, what the hell do they want Cammy to do? Seriously, all players have to do against Cammy is hold Down+Back (and im not kidding) and know how to crouching tech and theres NOTHING CAMMY CAN DO ABOUT IT. She has no overhead, and if what I’m reading is actually accurate, then it just got even harder for her to break opponents’ defense who sit on block all day.
But I digress again.
I’m a Cammy Fan, and I’m going to be playing her whether she becomes the new Makoto or Rufus, through thick and thin. I’m going to have to go back to the Training Room and learn new shit to compensate for what may be lost, but I’m all for it. I really enjoy playing Cammy.
I suggest you all do the same and don’t be so Bandwagon.
But just to be fair, TKCS is really somewhat of a glitch, being a product of SF4’s lenient combo system. My execution isnt good enough to do a CannonStrike AS SOON as I leave the ground, and I don’t think anybody’s is. I think from where Capcom sees it, its a glitch that was never intended to make it into the game. Still, its virtually harmless in terms of leaving it in the game, since its something that Cammy certain uses alot of the time. Taking it away from the game is like taking away dunks in basketball.
If Capcom actually sees it as a glitch then I don’t want to see any more kara throws or kara anything from Sagat. I think what’s getting to me the most is that it was Cammy’s only relatively safe pressure option. Compared to Bison with his safety scissors or any member of the cast for that matter with normals that can reliably interrupt reversals or move their character into a better position to spam more normals/safe specials. In FAIRNESS, they should just leave her alone. But comboable overhead CS and I’ll keep my mouth shut.
If its such a glitch… why is it in the trials >.>
I hope this is just some crazy loketest only change… Even though I’m sure Cammy will still be solid without TKCS and it sounds like her normals got buffed, it was a fun, offense-oriented tool and the reason I chose Cammy as my main in the first place. She felt like a complete character once Super rolled around, why is Capcom messing with her?
They should be adding to/buffing weaker characters’ tools, not removing options from solid ones.
welp, i’ll see you guys all on the yun discussion boards.
sorry yo, but i don’t have any huge attachment to cammy as a character. what i got attached to in sf4 and now super is her playstyle with the tkcs. it allowed me to play a rufus style game without looking at a fat man. if they change her play style then the character i got into will no longer be there so i wont play cammy.
this times 1000
i play cammy because of her play style. removing the tkcs is drastically changing her playstyle for me. no baiting dps (easily), no beating crouch techs, no building meter, no getting opponents confused with rapid tkcs…it just wont be the same cammy for me.
i am not going to say that I will drop her yet, but they better give her something worth while to replace the removal of tkcs. in addition, they better have a fairly minimum height requirement to activate the tkcs. tk’ing makoto’s ax kick is a bitch because they height requirement and cammy better not suffer that same fate.
Werd brother. This is why I call bullshit everytime they say “there is not tier list, the players will decide” STFU capcom.
Shotos and DP characters are designed to rule this game. Now they probably would anyway but Capcom gives them just enough of an edge where it doesn’t come down purely to player skill (not that planning for that is completely possible but in some ways they don’t even try) The counter Ultras are a perfect example. Why are Cammy and Fei punishable but not Hakan. They didn’t want to risk messing with the tier list (in my opinion) so they handicapped those Ultras. HOwever nothing else in Cammy or Fei’s arsenal said they needed a weaker Counter Ultra than Hakan to stay balanced.
This is just gay and I hope is doesn’t stick because I do not want to change mains…
