SSF4 AE Cammy Changes and Discussion

Yeah, after the initial shock of it, its really not that bad.

Just requires you to be smarter punishing throws attempts with ex tkcs, since its not free to spam tkcs anymore. Also some characters(Abel, etc.) won’t be as free since you can’t spam on their wakeup… but quick cannon spike is still very much effective with offensive pressure.

Guess we should just take our nerfs like good little consumers should.

I’m only sad that I won’t get all the free ex bars anymore.

i don’t think any of us are flying off the handle i just don’t want to see cammy destroyed. she can’t afford to lose her throw mix up game and the ability to build (free)meter. tkcs builds ten points of meter for every fireball they throw u get 3. In certain situations you may be forced to gain a little meter to get a bar of ex.

Not being able to punish throws with tkcs would be pretty horrific. you would lose the free 300 plus dmg you get if they mess up on guessing a throw. If she can’t overhead throw or deal chip damage how would she win? ppl r just gonna turtle up all day. even more than they already do.

i don’t really care. I just don’t why people said it doesn’t matter. free meter and free damage is always a good thing. i think lost tkcs means you can’t start a big combo with tkcs strike right? like after FA hit. Also, alot of big sako combo need to start with a tkcs or normal ex strike or it won’t work against some characters. unless they change that too on the new version

I see where the nerf was headed and it makes sense to me, i mean i like how they played around with leaving EXTKCS in though @.@

TBH guys, no TKCS would make this game a bit harder. I think they’ll ad hitstun to the move and make it decent.

also you can probably do almost instant dive kicks with an octo gate… I will miss the ambiguous cross up moves on everyone :frowning:

I’m not that butthurt to think that this is going to ruin Cammy. But it is a wonderful perk that has helped out a lot in so many situations.

If this actually gets passed though, the only thing I can say would be “wat”

This, this right here is a part of what made her fun and I completely agree with you.

If they take away TKCS I might switch to someone else or just quit SSF4 and play SC2 full time… One of the main reason I like Cammy in SF4/SSF4 is her TKCS… I use TKCS in every single game I play, it’s part of how I play… without TKCS how can Cammy break down the insane defense from good players? All decent players can tech throws like mad… Besides, I spent HOURS and HOURS of training to get TKCS down… How are they gonna compensate me for spending hours practicing something they put in then to all of sudden be taken away …WTF???

Make her NORMALs combo better does not = TKCS… Heck, her combos are already Top Tier… Who cares about making them easier to combo with if you can’t land the first hit to start the combo… WTF… I don’t think ANY serious Cammy player ever complained about her Combos being weak or hard to do.

Why the hell would they remove TKCS? What was so special or “over-powered” about TKCS that made them remove it? Wtf is going on here?

I blame Sako for making Cammy look so good in japan.

If they left in delayed TKCS then this is not a big problem. ( for me at least )

Even if TKCS was one of Cammy’s main tools for blowing up option selects, it’s not all THAT bad. She still has great CH setups off many normals. Granted it’s still a nerf but I’m still curious as to how else they’ve tweaked her.

This mainly hurts her game against grappling characters, such as Abel.

Wow, seriously some bad news for cammy. If this is indeed true, I am quitting street fighter for good.

First the shitty new outfit and now this…It would had been better news to me if they had given her a new ultra and also allowing MP to cross-up instead to having to do a damn dive kick first in order to land it on a specific character wtf.

Still not sure how I feel about this, but whatever. I’ll still play her. TKCS is an important part of her game, but she still has strong normals, a good cross-up game, and wicked damage.

Down-back is really gonna hurt, though. Eesh.

Don’t panic just yet, people. As others have said, it’s a location test. If TKCS is removed, I imagine they’re adding a minimum jump-height to where you can activate CS. If that’s the case, and it gets added, I just hope that the height isn’t too -high-. That would hurt her even more than the removal of TKCS.

And yeah, like Faux123 said, easier combos? They’re pretty damned easy as is, and damaging. Hmm… We’ll see what the future holds.

Maybe she’ll get an overhead after all ^^

I assumed that it was a case of flushing the qcb from the buffer when you leave the ground, rather than a height restriction.

don’t get me wrong it’s nice when ur ex bar is close but I’m not gonna sit there building bars it’s not my style…sako his sako that…niggas please the problem they see with tkcs is the abuse …you ever bring a dhalsim or abel within inches of dying and spam tkcs until they chip die…its hella funny I’m almost 300 percent sure it’s one of the few reasons for this change…

it won’t last though regardless of the bullshit you people are talking - the ones saying you don’t need it - when it’s gone your going to lose way more gief and honda and abel and sim matchups then you can take it’s a major part of her game…and as one of the vet sf4 cammy posters I’m tellin you now…its gonna get hella quiet around here if it goes through.
