SSF4 AE Cammy Changes and Discussion

oh gawd… im still holding out hope for my killerbee… like really i mained Sagat and Chun in the arcades and vanilla… but until i picked up Cammy and tried to get my feel for her again my playstyle finally clicked y’know… i started hitting my stride, and learning the ins and outs of all her matchups… then i dropped Sagawd and Chun and amazingly enough i started winning… with my unique style of play with Cammy i became renown (in Indy) for my killerbee … now once AE drops my entire SF reality is gonna be shifted

on a relative yet sort of unrelated note if they put back Cammy’s hooligan>Cstrike option from CvS2 i would be pretty content since %65 of my groundgame sort of revolves around my hooligan tricks… if they made that specific version of her Cstrike an overhead that’d be great too but i’m far too jaded right now to hope for that

… didju guys know that an A-Groove Cammy can perform a CC combo that consists of: Cspike>Cstrike>Cspike>CstrikexxRSB!.. it sounds like she’s saying “Can-of–SOUP!”… really entertaining… just saying

Well, they didn’t explicitly say that, but that’s what I concluded from it. No, I don’t know Japanese, but I ran it through a text translator. Someone else a few pages back had translated it, and it was pretty much the gist of what I got from the software translation.

I’m trying to translate the comment section, it seems that the general Japanese cammy fans are also pissed off, and they dont get or understand this change.

1 dude specifically asked about Spiral Arrow changes, and that they are not mentioned in the blog.

i found a comment comparison between cammy and rufus. and how its unfair and brain dead that rufus needs to press 1 button to instant dive while cammy requires a TK motion. still rufus keeps his dive while cammys removed from the game.

another dude said something like capcom is changing the core concept of a character with cammy.

The spanish-to-english one there is the one with errors.

In the entry, it specifically states that far standing fierce has a new cancel window (could be interpreted as only cancelable at a specific distance/section of the animation, could be interpreted as basically “is cancelable”) and then follows with “with that, a combo like this is possible…” and so on (the combo lists far, not close.)

Well, Cammy will still have safe-jump shenanigans and stuff. Guess I’ll be practicing frame traps instead of C-Strike pressure. I still have EX C-strike, so I guess it’s not all bad.

time for me to start learning how to raise the rufus and scream AY!!! over and over and over again.

i can’t comprehend why the character with less easy ultra setups and a more difficult dive (which has more start-up and more recovery than rufus’ dive) to perform is the one who gets the nerf. it really boggles my mind

Maybe you guys should wait for the Rufus changes blog before whining about Rufus vs Cammy… if people are correct in saying that yun and yang have height restrictions as well than whos to say Rufus won’t get the same treatment?

Yeah wouldn’t two cr lp’s push you out of cl st hp range anyway? so it never made sense…

Btw does the Cammy blog part mention something about hitboxes getting adjusted as well? I swear I read that somewhere but can’t find it. Could be some nice buffs just from that alone… look at st hk…

Not that I was ever any good with Cammy (or SF in general) but if these changes have you guys so riled up then the future looks bleak :frowning:

Oh shit… we need a good translation quick… esp the Q&A section where a fan asked specifically the height restriction for Cannon Strike… Google translation is FAIL!!!

Update:

I used several Japanese->English translators on the Cannon Strike Height Restriction in the Q&A section and this is what I interpret from all these various translations (Google, BabelFish, etc)

“Cannon Strike has a FIXED Minimum Height Restriction, if any command :qcb:+:k: is done before the minimum height is reached, the command is IGNORED regardless of Jump Arc (Rising or Falling). What was NOT answered is Minimum Height… (Still praying…)”

I don’t like the IGNORE the Command part, because if you do it just outside of the minimum height, NOTHING will come out which results in an empty jump or an inadvertent kick which could be really bad in certain situations (Think of DP->FADC Ultra… Ouch).

We need an expert in japanese in here STAT, the patient won’t last much longer!

They did nothing to Rufus except nerf EX Messiah damage even more and make it so U2 isn’t AA anymore (not that it was hard to safe jump already anyways.
