Even though i wont forgive capcom for taking away TKCS (which is really fun doing, even if it were a crappy move) there are two things that can still keep cammy fun to play:
1st -> Cannon strikes must give enough hit/stun to combo cr.lk/cr.lp of them even if they have to be done high in the air
2nd -> make cr.lk cr.lp cr.mp HK SA possible!
Also, I wonder if they are giving Rufus a combo that is not a 1-frame link for I also loved playing that character but theres no way I can do 1-frame links consistently!
I dunno James Chen wasn’t astounding with cammy, but seeing James Chen in more footsie oriented games always scares me. Maybe he’s gonna be rewarded a lot more for his cammy playstyle.

CStrike is already active until landing, which means it varies with altitude. Can’t get any better than that, as far as active frames goes, without changing other things. The only ways to increase active frames are to either make Cammy’s jump higher or to make the descent of CStrike slower.
That cr.lk cr.lp cr.mp xx HK SA is most likely possible in the loctest because I doubt they’re going to slow down cr.mp.
Based on the combo that they mentioned was possible in the Loctest and the trend of frame data for lights, I speculate that her cr.lp is +3/+6 on block/hit. I don’t think there’s ever been any cr.lp in the game that has had more than that, and since they mentioned that cr.lp cr.lp st.hp xx SA is possible in the loctest, that would mean st.hp has to be sped up to 6 frames at least (I highly doubt it’d be faster than that).
I really want to know just how low to the ground her cannon strikes are allowed now… if it’s seriously at the arc of her jump only, that move will be officially useless.
CStrike is active for 11F in air, meaning that if you do the lk version at peak height, it is very likely to whiff since its active frames will have ended by the time it reaches the opponent. If it was active all the way till ground, it would be much more effective since you could start it high up and aim at their toes, then drop all the way to the ground with a ton of frame advantage while being covered by an active hitbox the entire time.
Right now the only way to get frame advantage on it is to do it low to the ground (no longer possible in AE), or do it as a meaty from high up. If Capcom changes it to be active all the way to the ground like Rufus/Akuma(both)/Yun/Yang’s are, I could see it being quite useful at neutral even with the massive height restriction.
I willing to bet that her cr.lp ends up at +4/+7, since Capcom specifically pointed out cr.lp cr.lp st.hp xx arrow as being a valid combo in AE. I don’t see st.hp being sped up, though it would be nice to end up wrong about this. With a poor far range game and no mixup outside of gambling an EX, Cammy needs to have some kind of tool to base her game around, and I’m thinking this tool will be Roglike frame advantage on her punches.
Hopefully they’ll give us a hooligan with a CS option like CvS 2.

If the cr.lp gets more frame advantage like its been said to, will that mean that cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lk Hk SA will be even easier to do? Or will we have more frames to cancel lp into lk but the same frames to link them?
I doubt capcom would wanna take out the one tool a rush down character uses for her rush down, that would be similar to making giefs command grabs useless, what I think they are doing(and this is just optimistic speculation) is trying to make her less reliant on her dive kicks, like rufus, he can play the whole dive kick spam rush down game but he can also slow it down and play a more footsie oriented game where as all cammy really had was her dive kick game(which granted was amazing) but I guess they are just trying to make her more multi-dimensional. Whether or not they are gonna succeed is still up for debate though, hopefully they don’t disappoint.
It would mean you could do c.lk, c.lp, c.mp. It’s only a non-combo by 1 frame, so any sort of buff to that move (without a nerf to the mp) would guarantee a combo.
I’m still thinking positive and believe Cammy will be a better character in the end if her normals are beefy enough.
Yeah, the Developers’ comments beneath Cammy’s list of changes made it apparent that they definitely want Cammy to move away from her SSFIV style.
