honda headbutt is already punishable by mk arrow and Ultra only lp and ex are safe! (and all headbutts are punishable with super)

Low strikes were NOT possible at all (not even from a regular jump) during the loctest in Osaka and TGS. And NO tkstrikes at all. So yeah we have to change our fighting style completely, but that doesn’t mean she is going to suck. Just give it some time.

Also, I have NO IDEA why people are complaining about Seth. Yes, U1 and his jumping HP got nerfed badly but he is still such a badass!! The best player during the TGS was a Seth player using U2. He kept winning all matches and I think he didn’t lose one match at all lol.

OMG, can you combo after high regular strike?? does it stay active all the way down similar to rufus/yun/yang? (or similar to EX Strike?)

It’s either going to be a free DLC or a new game entirely, but Capcom’s already stated that they have no intention of releasing any further versions of 4. It’s possible that they’ll make you pay for Yun and Yang, but the balance changes will have to be a mandatory update. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to play with others who chose to not update.

Optimistic speculation here - considering they’re altering the frames on Cammy’s normals, isn’t it plausible that they tweaked the frames on cstrike as well? Cstrike wouldn’t be useless as if maybe they increased the blockstun from it, or increased the active frames, etc.

If they don’t add block stun or make the min height something usable on her dive then she’s toast. The new normals are nice and I’m sure there will be some nice combos at some point but with the rest of the cast getting better I don’t see Cammy staying upper mid. She is def falling out of top 10 because her 6-4’s and 7-3’s and her 5-5 are going to shift because those chars are getting better. Even with the confirmed nerfs on two of her ‘bad’ match ups ryu/rog. I still think she’ll struggle against them.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the full final changes bring. It seems like Capcom hates white girls.

I think chun is going to end up being best in this game post patch.

About the change to Cannon Spike:

I don’t know if you could really consider it a nerf yet. Has been said several times in this thread that aside from jump-ins, there’s virtually nothing you can’t punish a blocked Spike with. The exception is if she LK Spikes with the later active frames (meaty on wake-up or blocked at the edge of its range) where the pushback and the reduced disadvantage makes it almost completely unpunishable against many characters. The reduced pushback could perhaps be to do with that (though it was hardly a big deal) or making it so scrubs didn’t have to adapt or take any time learning their options in order to punish.

It could perhaps be as James suggested; the pushback is smaller but the disadvantage is reduced. The new proximity after hit could give her more options for the knockdown. Depending on how it turns out; there’s a chance it may ultimately be considered a buff.

True. I’m hopping I can link cr. Forward/round house off cr. Jab… If so… I don’t care if regular tkcs is gone. I use frame traps more to punish techs and button pushers

u can already punish those included honda. anyway all those have faster recover than cammy vanilla/super cspike so gg

And you can already punish cammy spike pretty easy for the most part as well, capcom are justmaking it easy as fuck to punish thisshit. Fuck hitting blanks with a spiral arrow when you can now dash in and combo his ass. If you can do the same to Honda than great.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cammy was a better char in AE, depending on how buff the normals are…

i wouldn’t surprised people will rank cammy at mid to low tier character in AE too.

They said her combo damage would generally increase, and the combos that start with lights definitely look like they would improve, which should help her low/crossup options (like against balrog where you’re automatically out of close range) but as far as punish combos go it would take some pretty strong changes to make up for the lost damage from the free TKCS you get in certain situations (like after any EX TKCS you get a free normal TKCS, also for focus -> dash -> TKCS, or punishing SRK with a TKCS combo or something.)

It also mentions hitbox improvements so who knows.

It will depend mostly on Sako’s (and maybe Alioune’s) success with the character.

I wouldn’t be surprised if playing AE Cammy started to feel like playing Cody

I could care less about tier lists, its just that freedom to cannon strike anywhere, anytime is one of Cammy’s defining features. It’s part of her character. I’m sure many of you have either said this before or think the same way. I just hope AE Cammy still feels like S/SFIV Cammy.

yeah, that would be boring as hell. why remove TK motion and only high strikes are possible. Adon and Makoto can TK air special IN THIS GAME. granted its harder than strikes. but its still possible even with the air restriction. actually you can jump quick air jaguar kick and Axe Kick and land it as low then combo.

its unfair if they keep makoto and adon still be able tk their air moves. and do them as low into combos while cammy is denied to do so :confused:

i dont understand why change one of the most unique rushdown characters and slow her down to being just another walking Cody.

And Cody walks like he’s half asleep (probably because he is), has one of the worst jump arcs in the game, and has no DP. Increased block stun should hopefully make it more possible to get into range for a tic throw without being jab mashed out, and hopefully fake a tic throw and get a counter hit setup instead. But she really needs a +3 on block light to get that, so we’ll see. I wish they had given close st. lk a buff instead of close st. lp, because lk hits crouchers, where cl st. lp is pretty useless imo. Cr. lp should work fine anyways, linking from a crouching normal to a standing one always feels weird to me though.
