Minor information added to Balrog. Touched up Zangief and added preferred AA’s, as well some match examples. Added another opinion on Yang and added some Preferred AA’s.
Sorry if this is not new information. But s.MK, EX Hands, s.MK, Hands & s.MK, EX Hands, U2 work on both the twins.
EDIT: Works on Oni. I couldn’t get U2 to work on E.Ryu, but s.MK, Hands works after but I think you have to walk forward for 1 frame.
EDIT EDIT! Doing a video of all my findings.
Hey guys, since we’ve had a bit more time to experiment with AE I was just wondering, based on all of your opinions, which ultra do you feel is the better one? I used to believe Ultra 1 was the better ultra but after so many matches i believe that maybe Ultra 2 might be superior. Especially since Crane u2 really off sets peoples games. This single factor has been enough to win me so many matches over the past month.
Now that U2 is ‘better’, I find it character dependent which ultra is ‘the best’. Ultra 2 I will use against Sagat, Gouken, Viper, Dhalsim, Yun and Yang but U1 I find far more applicable against pretty much everyone else. Others will use U2 against all fireball characters but at the range that most of these will throw fireballs (if they are concentrating) they will usually have recovered by the time you get to them. I also find that if I have U2 I’m happier to just throw it out (which is bad, mmm-kay?!) so not having that itch to scratch is beneficial in a lot of matchups.
I pretty much always use U1 when playing people I’m familiar with, as are they with Gen. Because crane U2 is very situational and if people know about it they won’t just throw out fireballs like that. Also I still think mantis U2 is a lame ultra.
I don’t really understand, what’s the advantage of U2 against Viper? I always liked U1 in that matchup because it’s anti-crossup, and it also stops Viper from doing things like blocked Seismo -> whiff LK flame kick. I also like U2 against Zangief, surprisingly, in large part because of the new EX greenhand.
and I personally love to OS mantis U1 on wakeup EX seismos tendencies
I suppose people use U2 to punish seismos? Dunno really, but that would be my guess.
I knew this could work on Abel, Rufus and other big characters but thats great that it works on the twins and Oni. Great find!!
ya this is Super technology, but it’s funny how it works on the twins since they are some what small.
Damn I totally forgot to include TC2
sweet this works out anyways. Youtube removed the audio because I forgot to strip the audio information. adding new combos.

Any normal except s.HP in close range xx MP hands -> walk up s.MK or c.MP works on crouching Abel (and crouching Honda of course). I don’t see many situations where Abel players would be crouching however. It would have very limited use.
Fuck Chun-li.
That is all.
Ok Tha Messiah, you got the Front Page!
I feel you. Her s.MP can really temper with our footsie game. Even though our s.MK, s.HK, c.HP has slightly longer ranges, her s.MP hitbox is made so that her hand is completely invincible. Combine that with fast walking speed and 5f start-up of that normal :(. And her s.HK reaches really far even though it whiffs on crouchers.
There’s a really great Chun player in our local area. Even though he does outclass me as a player, I get fucked so badly without cross-up dive kick shits.
i think gen beats zangief. discuss
Just check my videos in the video thread. I find gen out pokes him and out AA’s him. Really the only time he can win is if he gets in. But remember if he lands a non-EX Green hand you can punish on hit. I used to have SO SO SO much trouble with him before. I some what though the green hand not knocking down was a huge bonus for him as he can setup more offence from it, but after I checked his frame data, I’ve changed my mind. It’s at least 5-5 almost leaning in Gen’s favour. IMO.
I see that Pretty happy about it.
