Everybody was locked away asleep in their rooms, as the night ticked away. Waiting for everyone to fall asleep, he snuck out of his bed and started to stalk the halls of the 2Fort base. Tonight, he was supposed to meet up with their spy on the BLU side, to gather what intelligence he could. He glanced at his watch: 10 minutes to go.
Slipping quietly out of his bed, he stepped over the drunken Demoman passed out on the floor, careful not to slip on the puddle of booze – or possibly piss – he was laying in. He grabbed his trusty scattergun, and proceeded to slip out of the base undetected. Having lost thier Pyro earlier that day, he was really hoping to learn something that would turn their situation around.
Casually double jumping across the courtyard roof, he was lost momentarily in the beauty of the scene. “This place isn’t half bad,” he thought, “When there’s not explosions and corpses littering the place.” He landed quietly on the balcony, and looked at his watch. 1 Minute to go.
Azure turned back, tapping his foot impatiently. “Come on, where is he?” wondered Azure. Surely, this wasn’t some sort of setup, was it…?
In that moment, **Azure **was bathed in a large flame being thrown on him by Cyntalan.
“Ow Ow, Fuggidy Ow!” he said, making a beeline for the pond at the base of 2Fort. It was a setup! Fucking hell.
**Azure **quickly extinguished himself, but he was badly burned. He limped himself back into the base, staggering for the medical closet, when he saw the **Medic **going over some research.
“Hey, Doc! Over here!” said Azure, hurrying over to the Medic. The **Medic **saw him, and quickly realized the gravity of the situation. He looked around to see if anybody else was here to help, then picked up his Medigun and hurried over to Azure.
“Hello” said the Medic, “Where does it hurt?”
“Are you kidding me doc, look at me! That friggin Maniac Pyro set me on fire!”
“Ah, yes, I see… here, let me help you. Close your eyes, this may sting a bit.”
**Azure **closed his eyes, anticipating a needle. He didn’t like needles. He winced, waiting for the sting… that never came.
“Uh, Doc?” said Azure, as he opened his eyes. Saxton Hale stood before him, holding a paper medic mask in one hand. **Hale **smirked.
“Aussie Punch!” he yelled, and with one punch, knocked Azures head clean off its shoulders, as it sailed across the courtyard. “Oh yeah, that’s 2 points for old Saxton Hale!”
He watched across the way, and saw a familiar figure catch the head. The two Hales locked eyes momentarily, then laughed to themselves as they waved. They both retreated back to their beds, hoping to get to sleep before anybody noticed they were missing.
Azure does not get a last gasp
It is now Day 2, votes are due Wednesday at 9:00 AM PST (in 36 hours)
Massive props to PW for making the write-ups congruent with the 2Fort theme. Well done.
Also, by the last line it looks like the Mafia have used their LG blocker on Azure. Either they were worried by the insight he was showing, or they’re trying to implicate his detractors.
They wasted it too early. Even if Azure had good information, without being UC and with how early it is, his Last Gasp would’ve been of minimal importance.
Now to think about the implications. Azure said that if BD was telling the truth, me and Godot are the next suspects. Now he’s dead.
I think this theme of Azure’s posts may be one of the mafias reasons for killing him. To implicate Godots ahead of today’s lynch vote. It may have also been a potential role hunt.
Another explanation is that the mafia were trying to implicate the sole voter for Azure last day phase, Mobius.
He was looking to sniff out possible mafia with Godots and Saitsu. Once again this may have been done to implicate GR but it could also be a ploy to protect Saitsu. I’m still not sure whether he’s a misguided civilian with lots of zeal or if he’s mafia.
However, Azure was pretty confident that he was mafia. Although once again his primary suspect was Godots.
All up, I think this was an attempt to implicate GR.
Not good.
First off, we made it too easy for the mafia to hop on the BullDancer wagon. Almost everyone voted him.
Now that Azure is dead and revealed civ, if we look back at his original plan, what he wanted was to lynch Saitsu and Godots if BullDancer turns up clean.
I did not like this plan because it would subjugate us into a lynch and lose scenario(if those 3 are civs) on Day 4.
A procedural plan that requires 3 sacrifices is too pricey especially if its foundation is “if x(ie. BullDancer) = y(Civilian), then z(ie. Saitsu) must be V(Mafia)”.
Additionally, focusing the spotlight on those 3 will just make it easy for the Mafia to nod and say “sounds good, he’s suspicious, let’s lynch him” without any fear of backlash against them as they were following the command of a civ.
Looking at the current situation, it seem like it did happened.
Look back after BullDancer was revealed civ, the others just jump on the next target so quickly.
It was like step 1 was done so on to step 2.
We don’t have number on our side, this is a 11 man game, with 4 straight mislynches we lose. That is unless, you people are hoping that our Medic would be able to block a kill for each of our screw up.
As of now we have the following players remaining:
The Co-Jones
DarkGeneral
GodotsRevenge (Azure’s suspect #1)
Manx
Mobius (Sole voter for Azure)
Neesa
Pietastic
Saitsu (Azure’s suspect #2)
Synonym
I think we should momentarily turn our attention away from the three people already attributed with a connection to Azure. Looking at the list, everyone bar myself and Mobius voted for Bulldancer. I haven’t gone back yet to see the order the votes were cast in but I’ll post that shortly.
Does anyone have a reason to pursue anyone not currently listed as a suspect?
Alright, from what I have, right around when Mobius goes after BD is when the bandwagon starts (I’m not implicating you, just stating the timeframe).
We can assume quite easily that at least one if not both Mafia members were on that bandwagon. Both Godot and me were the first ones to go after BD, then Azure who’s innocent. Then BD role claims and all hell breaks loose. The FIRST PERSON to start the wagon after BD Role Claims was Manx. The same person who helped essentially start the malcontent in the first place. Not to mention was also staying in the shadows a bit.
Before we go full steam, does anyone have a post count?
I posted up earlier on this page my thoughts on why I voted for BD. It was in a quote cause I didn’t read over my shit properly.
It would’ve been either Azure, BD or Manx, cause those are the only people I really know from playing with them or talking to them. I don’t really know anyone else so, I’d go with what’s comfortable for me, inexperienced or not.
*I reread the the BullDancer situation multiple times and I was still not sure which way to lean. I wanted to try and hear him out so that I could try making it a hung jury by voting to lynch Azure and force a tie. But I was running low on time and BullDancer was being unresponsive to my questions. Afterwards I scanned through the conversation one more time and found those two seemingly contradicting statements that I quoted. At that point I finally broke down and decided to jump on the lynch wagon.
I still feel terrible about it but the only thing I can do now is try and make up for my mistakes.
