SRK Mini Mafia: Proving Grounds - Team Fortress 2 GAME RED - BLU Victory!

*This post troubled me when I was reading the exchange between BullDancer and his early accusers back all over again. I assume that Godot followed the All-Star game, why? Because he left “likes” and “agrees” during the All-Star game on posts in the game. If I follow that assumption of mine, he would know that the All-Stars were going to put the onus on mafia by playing the lame “no lynch” game during day phase. If we followed that type of tactic our extra civ would allow us to play a little looser.

8/2 starting on day 2:

end of day 2: bad lynch + night kill = 6/2

end of day 3: bad lynch + night kill = 4/2

end of day 4: bad lynch + night kill = game over or no lynch + night kill = 3/2

Day 5: Lynch or lose if we get this far.

vs

7/2 starting on day 2:

end of day 2: bad lynch + night kill = 5/2

end of day 3: bad lynch + night kill = 3/2 or no lynch + night kill to put us at 4/2

end of day 4: bad lynch + night kill = 2/2 game over** or** no lynch + night kill = 3/2

Day 5: Lynch or lose if we got this far.

We’d have to seriously consider no lynch an entire day earlier. It looks like we’ll have to be our on shit from here on end. *

It was patched a few games ago actually. Referring to your PM wording in order to prove somebodies innocence/guilt is just a crutch for bad players. I didn’t post the contents of the PM in the threads to save clutter, but I said I will if it involves bringing up the contents of your role assignment or the time in which the PMs were sent

  • For what it’s worth I haven’t dismissed what you’ve said of Manx. How he so simply jumped on the BullDancer Lynch Wagon after posting “BullDancer is always suspicious” came off as odd. It’s counter-intuitive. Maybe he couldn’t make it to the voting process. But to cast a vote like that on BD after claiming UC, after he made that comment like that is suspicious. Not to mention Manx to my knowledge wasn’t in the Phoenix Wright game, I don’t think he can even use the excuse Pietastic used to lynch BD due to “prior game mafia tactics”.*

Ahh, I thought it was quite clever. I was going to suggest that each person be assigned to repeat the word at a numerical position from the PM. ie. The(1) cat(2) sat(3) on(4) the(5) mat(6). We’d then be able verify it easily as civilians. I guess it is a rather obvious strategy though so I’m not surprised it’s been used before.

Like I’ve said from the start, relying on past-game “information” can be more counter-productive to our cause than ignoring it. Who has been acting suspicious in THIS game is important. Why are they suspicious is then the next question that must be satisfied before we form a lynch wagon on them. Merely citing “oh, he’s playing different to usual” without being able to pin it down lends absolutely no credence to the idea in my mind. If, on the other hand you can point out them attempting to turn a lynch away from themselves or misdirect civilians then I’m all for an exploratory lynch. The difference is the evidence, of which BD’s lynch wagon had none.

The flip flop from lynch to no lynch would have been suspicious, had he not then claimed UC. At that point the group should have taken a collective breath and re-thought out their accusation in light of that new information. Not just blindly jumped aboard the lynch train.

Point taken. I admit I was wrong, but I stand by my statement that lynching Day 1 was more practical. It may not have worked out (understatement), but I still think it was a good idea.

Ha, I was about to edit that. You can’t beat me off this game, Pimp Willy!

I stand by that wording. No regrets.

If you checked the end of the Phoenix Wright game, he flipped to No Lynch a few times (as I remember) and he role-claimed (that, I’m sure of) and ended up Mafioso. After the role-claim, it was a pretty good idea for people to jump on the lynch train.

Once again, that’s using past-game logic. It doesn’t work 99% of the time.

I agree, but it’s still helpful to point out in addition to any suspicious stuff they’ve been doing in the current game.

Yes and no. I actually had 2nd guessed my vote, but, I only had like 10 minutes to put my vote in while I was half asleep… But, if he had just wait before putting in a vote instead of going back and forth about who he wanted to vote for, he might not have been lynched. I thought about it in terms of an actual TF2 match as if he were a spy… Why I was 70% okay with putting my vote in for BD.

But saying we should’ve backed off of it after he RC’d seems kinda eh. I mean, I get what you’re saying but, isn’t the whole point of the Spy suppose to be to blend? I saw the RCing as a means to blending, but it was too late. Not even counting past games, just being mindful of how he responded to the pressure put on him was a tipping point for people on the fence, like myself, on who they should put up on the chopping block.

But with this shit coming to light, it’s like adding another layer of confusion. Talk about mindfuckery. Thanks guys.

Ugh. All of that shit was in a quote. Goddamit not being able to edit.

The point I was making about the role claim was that even if he was mafia role claiming to ‘blend in’, we’d still have our eyes on him. He would never have been able to blend back into the crowd. We would have demanded that he give us investigation results and if he couldn’t deliver he would have probably been lynched by about Day 3.

Regardless, what’s done is done and we’re going to have to plan accordingly. I for one will want to see evidence for people’s accusations and if they fail to deliver it, we may need to look at the accuser themselves.

9:00 PST is still the deadline… the writeup may be a little late, as a store is selling GTAV a little early, and I want to pick it up since I won’t have a car to do so tomorrow… and if thats the case, depending on when I’m back, it may be a little late

lynch godots revenge

lynch godots revenge DERP

You’re dead homey. Pm me your last gasp

wrong fucking game sorry shit

  • I agree with this statement. In hindsight I should have pushed for us to think more logically and at least see if the mafia would target BullDancer.

It’s not that I’m relying on past game tactics I’ve observed, but by seeing who IS we can get a read on how they are approaching this game. In my Manx example his statement of “BullDancer always being suspicious” says that he acknowledges that BD can stick out like a sore thumb. He went on to say that he thinks BullDancer will find a way to not get lynch, however he still continues to cast a vote on our potential UC. Maybe I’m seeing toast but it strikes me as suspicious. *

Wait a sec. We have to make a vote? I thought this was the night phase…?
