SRK MAFIA XVII - ATTACK ON TITAN:End of Day 8 - The Grim Reminder (Civilians lose!)

Also, irl circumstances caused me to be much more wallflowery than I liked last game, so I wouldn’t neccasarily rely on that pattern of behavior.

I gots 3-4 mafia hunches so far.

  1. Forgedigger - I’ll give till Day 3 before (maybe sooner than that) if she stays on this list. Depends on her interactions with Alpha and Synonym. Tendency to sheep from what I’ve seen when she’s been mafia. Usually with
  2. Alpha- Alpha is going to end up getting lynched someway somehow on Day 1 so I’m not even worried about it
  3. Oz/Synonym - Looking for how Oz interacts with Alpha. Synonym is fucking dangerous. Please be civ this time

Hunches without base

  1. DarkGeneral - You are a sneaky bastard.
  2. Augustus - I haven’t forgotten you trying to burn me to a crisp multiple times
  3. Gamerguy - Because I fucking can

Very very good point cynt, I totally hadn’t considered that as a possibility. Really everyone should do it, so we don’t run into any potential problems where all the people who are holding the old posts die (unless they can include them in their last gasps).

Also, @Hecatom‌ do both lovers find out when the mafia try to recruit the dormant one?

I ain’t editing shit. Yall are just gonna deal with double posts. To continue my thoughts on ForgeDigger that I forgot to finish, when she’s mafia she tends to take on the “voice” of the person who’s the mafia leader (not necessarily the actual leader, but the person who organizes what everyone is gonna say or do before hand). At least, that’s how I felt during the DragonBallZ game.

Wait Forgedigger is a chick? Thought it was a dude this whole time lol. Or is it some kind of inside joke? I figured that if you’re female on SRK you have to run around GD shouting it to anyone who’ll listen.

I almost asked why, and then I seen the reason

Would there be a need for that? I’d assume you’d just tell your partner you tried to be recruited right? Would there be a reason not to tell?

Yes. To the first.

To answer your second, I have no idea how the RNG does this, but newbies generally get mafia someway somehow their first game. Which is why I also have LordWilliam as a baseless hunch, but lower than yourself. And the reason for that is that you’ve been in 2 Arena games so you somehwat have an idea of what you’re doing while he’s flailing around in the dark (and/or waiting on orders on what to post and in what tone most likely if he’s mafia).

Hear me out. First post does look pretty bad, but it was intended to be a joke. I was trying (and apparently failing) to joke about how Fuzz (whom I thought would actually get lynched day 1 due to all the attention that train was gathering pregame) was not longer a choice and just day 1’s in general.

P.S. - the last sentence was a joke, right? I’m bad at this. >.<

The human lover knows when the mafia tries to recruit the dormant lover. I dont think the dormant knows unless the human tells him, but I dont even know if that’s allowed.

Just letting you know I’m looking at this post extra careful.

That’s an understatement.

Well my line of thought was something like this.

Say you are the dormant civ and the mafia has tried to recruit you (If the mafia tried to recruit someone that was peeked as dormant and it failed its obv the dormant lover). If your human partner knows that the mafia know who you are, It is in his best interest to tell the thread who you are as soon as he is in the slightest whiff of danger in order to make sure the mafia don’t get a vigi. Therefore if the dormant is interested in their own survival, they wouldn’t tell their partner.

I guess it depends on what the win con for the dormants is, if it switches when they are recruited or what.

To be honest after I signed up I was super worried that I would get the role of Erwin. I didn’t really want any kind of responsibility my first game lol. Just want to play and absorb it, but it seems like these games rely on knowing the source material to a fair degree. Hence why I jumped at this one.

Secondly, I’m having a bit of an easier time with this game as opposed to Arena. In Arena I was still wrapping my brain around the meta of gathering resources, forging alliances, exposing enemy alliances, getting kills, accounting for other unnamed abilites, and not dying. Mafia doesnt seem like I need to juggle as much.

My reading came to an abrupt halt when I gamers post about dormants claiming.

If the 3 dormant die before being recruited, they win if civs win right?

This is an entirely different beast than Arena Gamerguy. The salt accumulated here generally lasts basically forever. I still haven’t forgiven Pietastic for instance.

I believe it’s explicitly stated that the human will learn if a recruit is attempted on the dormant. In which case, I don’t think there’s going to be a case where the dormant knows but their human lover doesn’t. In other words, either they both are informed, or just the human is informed.

Yeah. Dormants aren’t considered mafia until they’re recruited.

If you wouldve went a little farther, you wouldve seen that I had a fault in logic in that post. I thought that all the dormants were in a lover pair for some reason. Which isnt true. There is one lover pair where one of them is dormant, and then 3 separate dormants that dont have a lover role.

Well if it counts for anything I am not looking to specifically screw somebody over. I was really gonna keep an eye on Fuzz and we all know how that turned out.

I like that idea of your @Cyntalan. I’ll try and save the pages from time to time too if I remember it.

I know Duke. I skimmed ahead to see if anyone else picked up on what I was thinking before I posted. I wasn’t insinuating that you made a mistake.

There has to be a hole in this. As much as I’m against rc’s, locking the mafia down to 3 players sounds broken. I like broken.

All the mafia really needs is 2 competent people to win (or get them into a position to push for a win). Us civs usually self destruct on our own because of previous prejudices.

The problem that I could see with this is the dormants not wanting to go along with it. Since we do not have the ability (as far as I can tell), to kill all three dormants before the mafia get a chance to recruit them, the mafia would be able to convert either 1 or 2 depending on the lynch order (on day 2 if we lynch the unconverted one they get 1 converted, otherwise they get 2). Those converted people would then be on the losing team (lets be real, if we can’t win starting at 17-3 with a cleared civ, we should just quit mafia forever).

If I were a dormant, I couldn’t see myself agreeing to straight 50/50 on winning or losing the game depending on who the mafia picks to convert first.
