From how I read it, mafia gets 2 actions at night, but they have to be different actions (Kill/Investigate/Recruit). With the Armored titan, they can use one action to “Destroy the gates” letting them get 2 kills the following night.
They basically sacrifice 2 nights of hunting for dormants to get 1 extra kill. All in all, not that strong, but Hannes prevents that from being an option anyway.
Also pretty sure Erwen is “unkillable” since it says he can’t be killed on his card.
Regarding the lovers… is there any reason why the human lover shouldnt just turn their dormant partner in now for a day 1 lynch? Unless we’re holding out hope that the partner turns into a vigi for our side, it seems dangerous
Do dormants know that they are potential titan shifters? I thought it was a thing where they dont know until they get recruited. If so, a human lover can’t role claim because neither of them know if they are dormant.
If the dormants do know that they are a shifter though, I will co-sign that the human lover needs to step up and claim.
IMO they shouldn’t immediately do it. I feel like if we do that, we will essentially lose out on any useful information stemming from interactions and conversations on day one (which is where mafia most often fuck up), and go into day two in the exact same spot as day one, but with the seer and the mafia both having one investigation (which still isn’t horrible I’ll admit).
Especially in this setup, we have a way higher than normal chance of lynching mafia day one. We have 7 favorable lynches out of 24 (can’t lynch fuzz) people, and on top of that, fuzz can lead us away from the two people he knows, and Human lover can claim if he’s getting wagoned without it being bad for us.
Welcome! Best advice I can give you is to just post a lot about whatever thoughts you might have, no matter how dumb you think they may be. Also enjoy yourself, in the end it’s just a game.
But Fuzz isnt supposed to reveal Erin and Levi identity though. Sure he could steer us away from them without being super obvious if he chooses his words correctly, but defending a player out of the blue is going to raise eyebrows no matter what
Yeah, he cannot outright reveal them, but even just like leaving them off when posting his suspicion lists and ideas of who we should pressure should be enough to protect them from lynches. I trust in Fuzzes ability to be subtle enough.
On the lover things, we dont really have to worry about the dormant half yet. If the human lover claimed, he doesnt have to out his other half. At that point we could dangle the threat of a vigilante over the mafia’s heads.
BUT, however, we do have to worry about if the newly found vigilante will make good calls.
btw I looked up vigilante and know what it does, but a vigilante only gets one night kill the whole game in these parts right?
Usually its one kill a night around here unless otherwise specified. Most games it is restricted by ammo or some equivalent system, but that does not seem to be the case this game.
Thanks for clearing that up. Couldn’t really find anything about it in the signup thread.
On to more interesting matters, there are still 8 people who have said nothing in this game. You best believe I’m making a conspiracy chart for this game.
Silent players are currently:
Combo_knight
Dnyce
DukeC
Recessiontime
SAD
Icege
That said, Augustus’ post rubbed me in a weird direction. The phrase “Ready to win” puts me off a bit. It almost suggests to me that he feels at some kind of disadvantage. More importantly, everybody has been calm so far, but he seems eager to do something.
He also has the longest suspicion line in my chart.
I like what you are doing with the playing attention to silent players, I figure I’d just give some context (and last active times) for those people (In bold). The only people that currently could be considered as suspiciously not being here are dnyce and recessiontime.
Speaking of awkward first posts. I really did not like forge’s entrance into the thread. Currently my number one suspect.
In regards to you not liking Forge’s initial post, what stood out to you? I dont really see anything there except for proposing “going random” which I assume is in the context of making a random lynch for the first day.
Welp. I’m not mafia this time. I think I prefer it this way (being a civ). Its not nearly as fun when you know everything than when you’re trying to play blind and find mafia.
Okay, I think you’re losing me here. The way I understand it is that if human lover by mafia, the dormant lover become a vigilante. That would be good for us, but the new vigilante can also still be recruited by the mafia. That’s a sort of high-risk, high-reward kind of thing. On the plus side, we can thin out the numbers of the mafia. However, on the downside, the vigi can be recruited by mafia eventually. Also, using a vigilante has always been a gamble anyway. While civs gain more leverage, the power to kill has been set down on one person (which hasn’t exactly always turned out in the civs favor).
So I see where you’re coming from, but all-in-all, I don’t think the human lover should claim just yet. Not until we’ve got a solid plan of action for how to make up for these downsides.
One thing I’m thinking that at least a few of us should do is start saving the HTML of each page as it is complete.
With edits being allowed, I’m thinking those “last moment doomed” mafia are gonna go mass edit their posts while they’re still alive, taking any evidence we may want to read back on gleam from.
I thought that those first post felt really stilted, with things like the “Okay, well.” being its own sentence, the run on question train, and the tacked on dormant question at the end (which honestly looks like signaling to me)
For the second post, it feels like this part was rewritten a couple times (which is something civs do less than mafia) in order for both of those instances of rule to be there, because I do not believe that someone would naturally phrase that sentence in that way naturally.
