Question time, if you were Mafia last night and you had to submit a kill, who would you have picked and why?

It depends on what roles the mafia has.
Right now i think that there is a good chance that besides the medic and the swimmer they also have the otaku, after all, having access to the people who our detective investigates can give a good insight on who he could be if the detective hints in some way the people who he suspects about, add that from what we know, he has not tried to contact PW yet.

I am also pondering the posibility that they could have the Gamer Girl, she not sacrificing her yesterday to avoid night kills could mean that she was recruited by mafia or that she simply didn’t believe my role claim which is fair.

As for your question, if we had the otaku there is a chance that at least from my part i will try to push a kill against someone who has been vocal on who he suspects that match with the people that has been investigated so far.

i found a flaw in the broken tech… Assuming Togami could be mafia, the culprits could easily target the medic that RC’d and then switch their kill with Syo thus leading Syo to kill the medic rather than mafia legitimately killing the protected medic…

to add to that, Nurse doesn’t know if the real medic is Mafia or not

He brought up the nurse a few times but he wasn’t the only one. Man the mafia got lucky.

Um ok SAD actually seems like a random target tbh and I bet MP’s change from me to OZ today will raise more question about me “slipping through the cracks”. Personally I dont believe i’ve said anything to implicate myself as a mafia member but I guess I havent said nearly enough to get in everyones good books. Well im sure as long as Togami stays alive and PW too, the truth is gonna come out (hopefully sooner rather than later but my guess is probably by the next night phase)
Speaking of, Hecatom im assuming you’ll be keeping all the roles you learn to yourself for the time being, right? Since that seems like the only good thing right now. Maybe just naming the role but not the player? Or is that stupid… I actually think that might be stupid since we aren’t getting their alignment, are we? Which roles would you guys recruit and why?

Since my name’s first on that list, I guess I’ll go first.

I briefly entertained the notion of recruiting the 4 worst roles, so they could role claim and everyone would go “lol nobody would be stupid enough to recruit those guys”, but apart from that, I didn’t specifically make a plan for if I got Valedictorian. The only role that really stuck out to me was Maizono. Not only is her Civ ability strong, but her Mafia ability is strong too, so I’d want a strong ability while preventing the civs from having another strong ability.

Would you like me to analyse the roles and choose the 4 I feel are the strongest or did you just want my pre-game thoughts?

4 weakest:
1. Naegi. Having him die once doesn’t prove his allegiance either way. Plus, having him on the Civilian team is a benefit to the Mafia, as his first death gives them a guaranteed 1 of 3 for the triple kill.
2. Junko. Sacrificing her to protect another player from a day lynch only prolongs the other Mafia member’s death.
3. Hinata. Roleless provides no benefit to Civs or Mafia.
4. Chiaki. A 1:1 sacrifice provides no statistical benefit to the Mafia.

4 strongest:
1. Maizono. With Kirigiri being the only confirmed Civ role, being able to manipulate her results is a powerful tool. Also prevents the Civs from being able to use the target ability.
2. Fujisaki. An easy way to force a quick game over (when numbers are nearing even). For example, let’s say it’s 7 Civs/5 Mafia/1 Nagito. Day phase is announced, Fujisaki submits his lynch vote immediately and ends the day phase. One vote is recorded and that person is lynched.
3. Ishimaru. Has the advantage over Mikan of being able to use his ability without everyone knowing that role is Mafia. Also takes away the temporary immunity.
4. Koizumi. Her ability used in conjunction with the Mafia kill allows for an easy find of the Medic if the target is protected that night. ‘If you successfully protect someone, you die.’ is an amazingly powerful role.

If you’d like any justification on the reason any of the other roles weren’t mentioned, I can share my thoughts on their individual strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a couple that I think deserve special mention:

Togami. His role in itself isn’t particularly powerful (at all), but his Civ ability could be used to jeopardise certain Mafia roles, so taking that away from the civs would be a priority where the Mafia team makes it obvious which roles are Mafia.
Asahina. Her Mafia role isn’t particularly special (it can even be incriminating), but her Civ ability is a threat to the Valedictorian. If Asahina does turn out to be Mafia, we should be looking at the selfish, egotistical players for potential Valedictorians.
Oowada. Another one of the characters more focused on the statistical victory of Mafia. Slightly more advantageous than Chiaki, as a Mafia member is day lynched/Syo killed instead of sacrificed. Keep an eye out for Oowada if Fujisaki is Mafia and vice versa.
Nekomaru. A very ballsy recruit possibility. It works on the preface that Nekomaru is controlled by a powerful player, so he would only be recruited by someone who likes to gamble. If Nekomaru was an insightful player, that would not only give Mafia continuous support, but it would stop the Civs from receiving their continuous support. Would be more likely to be recruited if someone powerful hinted that role in the sign-up thread before allegiances were chosen. As far as I can tell, I don’t think there was anyone that did this.

Also, I like to use the 1 mafia per list rule. When you, as mafia, give up a list, you include 1 mafia in as well.

Okay I JUST finished reading the rules in the other thread, trying to memorize the roles, AND read every post in this thread twice all the while forming random ideas as I went along took me like 3+ hours so fuck all of you lazy fucks who haven’t/won’t bother to put in the effort needed to win be you mafia or civ but especially civ.

@alphacommando why the fuck did you bother askign CK why he voting for me? I’m the most open minded of people (when you’re a nonstop, blunt chatter box who has a million different thoughts racing across your mind at any given moment being close minded isn’t an option lol) BUT it’s clear he’s just voting me because he’s still salty I exposed him as mafia last game =P. That being said him and @azure being suspicious of me because I’ve been quiet when every other game I’ve been super active and loud and obnoxious isn’t the most unreasonable thought, especially at this stage of the game where he have almost no solid intel.

I have so much to say I’m like mind fucked by all of you I have dozens of contradictory thoughts and suspicions about almost all of you, fuck all of you for making this game already require more work then the entirety of last game :lol:

I think some of you are focusing on the PW/MP shit a little too much, there are other nuggets to be mined from this thread, and more importantly alphacommando has the right idea, we should look at who the mafia leader or valedictorian what the fuck ever would be likely to recruit and go from there, that’s how we won last game.

I have no solid reads from anyone, but at the moment I’m leaning towards AC and @radicalfuzz being civ, although there’s always the “post a bunch of shit that on the surface looks insightful and useful but in reality is fluff” mafia angle they could be going for. As for my top strongest roles? I’ll have to think a bit more but will post before deadline.

Also it wasn’t until AC that I realized kigrirtiiiririririr role is the only hard civ in this game wow how did that slip by me? So for information purposes I’ll ask: What do you guys think the kigiri role should do? PLEASE WHOEVER YOU ARE DON’T FUCKING ROLE CLAIM YET PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

This post was interesting to say the least.

On Day 1, Oz, I assumed that you were Togami/Civilian since you “seemed” to know who Genocider is,

However, Alpha was revealed to be Sonia/Mafia later on, someone who knows the identity of Genocider at the start of the game. This would also imply that the Mafia knows who Genocider is as well.
And to add to that, Hecatom has role claimed Togami/Civilian, so my theory on you being Togami/Civilian would be unlikely if he was who he claim he is.

That said, I’ll be assuming that you aren’t Togami/Civilian from this point on.
If you aren’t, then I find your familiarity with Genocider odd.
