My work IP is somehow banned from Justin.TV for something. I believe it stated “inappropriate content” for the reason. 1. I don’t even have a came 2. I only watch SF & SC matches and RIft raids, so I’ve no clue what they’re talking about. I guess I may have called someone a nigga at some point.

I’d really want to see what happens to the belief systems of various people if an advanced alien species shows up, formally announces their presence…and proceeds to explain with irrefutable evidence (and in as much detail as possible) that they had a prominent role in the “origin story” of humanity. That would really be something…like a sudden turning point in a story that is done mostly for shock value…it immediately changes so many things. Of course you’d then have those that would refuse to believe the aliens, and dismiss them and/or their spokesperson as a “false prophet”, or a possible trick by Satan or perhaps a test of faith by God…or whatever. It would be interesting to see how it all plays out. It would be similar to that great moment when Neo meets The Architect, and he calmly explains things while sounding like an eloquent encyclopedia+thesaurus that gained the ability to speak…

In the face of damning counter-evidence, people would find illogical and bizarre ways to rationalize the really big irreconcilable chunks of their beliefs, and they’d simply ignore the small details.

So really, not much would change.

Oh Mitt Romney was was in a debate last week where he said Evolution, every single aspect of it, was just opinion. Like no factual aspect to it at all. Million would be incredibly disappointed by said Alien Invasion because nothing would change, aside from the fact that there where aliens on planet earth, a far more interesting prospect in the long run anyway.
