That was interesting indeed. Every time Mood brought in his Mega Gengar to soak up the toxic spikes it got wrecked so it did a whole bunch of nothing. The Aromatherapy was neat…until it turned into setup bait.

All this showed me was that a competent player can find ways to deal with Moody/Evasion. Life Orb/Sword Dance Blaziken takes souls, but so does Chomp at +2 . If Blaziken is in Ubers Chomp (much as I hate to say it) and Genesect need to follow right after him too.

Also, Sword Dancing on anything that has Foul Play is a no-no.

Question: Mood. Why do you use Outrage?

cause i made the team in 2 seconds and didn’t have a thought process on synergy, dragon claw would’ve been better, i need something to get rid of spikes and something to deal with gyarados, who just raped my team, a few switches and the team would’ve been fine, but toxic spikes seems to be a viable answer to evasion boosting, althought toxic spikes has really bad distribution and i played stubbornly (basically not switching out chomp when i should’ve)

gyarados is my fav pokemon in this gen

but i haven’t played pokebank and i am super afraid of genesect/genies so i’m not playing until they sort some of that out /_/

oh and i pretty much gave up on playing on 3ds cuz i don’t have a 3ds [was borrowing roommates], breeding is not my thing, and wifi battles are quite slow, so yeah… ignore me.

I’m going to try Blaziken now, I’m personally with the camp that doesn’t think he’s overpowered but everything is worth a try.

EDIT: Also I’m only going to use stuff available prebank to keep stuff fair.

There are a lot of pokes that are brain dead. Talon Flame, SwagKi, HarvestTrev, ToxiStallGliscor, Wish/Protect/Status Move Pokes. The list goes on and on…

Finding a suitable replacement for Latios is tough, I just put Blaziken in place of him.

I took any instance of Postbank Mons out of my team, since pokebank shutdown.

Talon Flame may be brain dead but it does have it’s fair share of counters. There… isn’t really much of anything that counters Blaziken.

What’s a good Rapid Spin set for Excadrill? Planning on working with a different team soon or making a second one for fun.

I also forgot all about Perish Song for putting down Evasion(and other boosts). Can’t Evasion troll if you die in three turns.

Blaziken seems very beatable imo lol…

EDIT: Only beef I have with Blaziken is that you are forced to respect his ability to kill you.

Scolipede has baton pass and swords dance, but you know that his moveset is pure garbage and can’t sweep your team.

Flare Blitz and High Jump Kick are almost perfect neutral coverage.

Here is what i think are counters to blaziken.
-Perish song, works on subs and protect. Carrys on through baton pass.
-Toxic spikes/ Toxic then stall him to death.
These work best with fake out and protect and intidimate ability users.
-sash and counter on blaziken.
-sash and psychic type pokemon
-Foul play against +2 blaziken brings him near death. Better if foul play user has reflect on. You can then revenge kill him the next turn with a priority moves.
-Prankster encore

And thats all i got and they are just opinions. Blaziken may be a very good pokemon, he is not impossible to beat at the same time.

I will agree with you there, although at the same time (judging by what I saw in the replays) your team has much of that and is pretty well equipped to deal with Blaziken. However, most teams do not generally have what your team has. It’s not like Blaziken, Mega Gengar, and Mega Kanga are unbeatable, but they are definitely problems.

Ugh, Showdown got rid of Pokebank OU Beta. Gotta work up to over 1900 again T.T . Can we play Tournament matches on Showdown? I don’t intend to buy the games anymore, but I’d be more than happy to whoop on y’all in a sim :slight_smile:
