SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

dusclops sucks dick, it’s terrible and gets raped, i’ve had no problems with them with any team and all it is is death fodder for me, use it if you want but it’s seriously garbage

it’s 3HKO’d by mega kanga, so in order to do anything to it, you’re probably going to have a really weak dusclops after you’re done

it seems like someone doesn’t like me very much, and that makes me a sad pumpkaboo :frowning:

I wish they hadn’t taken away likes so I could like all these posts… SRK is starting to turn into that other place with all these bannings and taking away of forum functions…

I was actually thinking of some Trick+Disable shenanigans for the Kangaroo and its Amazing Friends, but haven’t had time to do any research on it.

I feel there are some other ways to deal with Kanga and Roo out there. I’m sure they’ll be shot down, because they only work for me, but whatevs. I’ll keep on keeping on.

infernoman disagrees and says fuck you to moods post

3HKO is more than most pokes get. Other thought is trick orbing. Yesh a meganite traded does nothing but it can be retricked elsewhere.

Trick don’t work on Mega-nite, sadly… I already tried it

Which means me Grimlock need new strategy…

you can’t dispose of opposing mega items, which really sucks and would balance them out in a lot of cases but also could make them useless

mega kanga is ridiculous and needs to go die in a fire, it’s not just stopping it as there are sets that it can run to get around those counters that no one seems to run, it can run a work up set that says fuck you to all the ghost types out there once pokebank comes out, etc. etc., seriously, fuck that thing

Yeah I just noticed that. I have another idea but will keep this one under wraps.

wait so embargo and knock off dont work either?

Is this “Dusclops dies in 3 hits” thing taking into account his healing with pain split?

Since he has such high defenses to make sure he can take a couple of hits and low HP pain split does some nice damage for him and heals him significantly at the same time.

i want to see po/white/tolore/bull playing against mood

this needs a little fgc mindset right now and a little gtfo to all this calcs smh

it would be 4 hits if you include pain split assuming you use it twice since any other option besides pain split twice would be a 3HKO if you don’t come in on a revenge kill, you seriously hurt mega kanga but as i and other battlers have seen on showdown, an alive kanga is still incredibly deadly

also, you’re fucked if you miss wisp, straight up fucked

forget about it if mega kanga is at +2, you’re losing dusclops no matter what

I’m incredibly ADHD when it comes to teambuilding, so I never have a fully optimized team, just a bunch of different mons, but I’m getting better at sticking to a plan these days.

I also don’t do much simulator battles as it is nothing like the actual game cart it took these idiots YEARS to program Recycle to work properly, for example

But, I may actually suck it up and play on buggy ass Showdown to prove a couple of points*(that have already been proven, but more visual evidence never hurts)*
Even though I’ll have to wade through a sea of scrubs and sore losers who complain at the faintest inkling of hax…

I can’t figure out how to make Chandelure useful. Which sucks because he’s such a cool Pokémon.

And I know he’s good, but it seems anything I put him up against he just gets shit on. Does he need Light Screen/ Reflect assist or something? Maybe the movepool I’m running on him isn’t optimal? I dunno.

you dont have to play scrubs (unless testing is a must), but it is really annoying to read all this stuff w/o any solid evidence… and calcs are far too irrelevant imo, i know frame data a lot myself and that doesnt mean shit if you want to won majors.

Chandelure is the ultimate in and out pokemon.

While it does have common offensive weaknesses, from Gen V experience, whatever Chandelure counters, it’s a hard counter to(things like Scizor).

You basically use him to set up on the pokemon that it would switch into it with either a choice item trick(I’d pick specs, a speed boost benefits everything, that’s why I don’t like tricking scarves unless its against a slow team), or a substitute. Then you run train with 145 base sp. attack. Fire Blast is a must. Shadow Ball to hit the Aegislashes(with specs, it OHKOs the shield form, even running max HP).

EDIT: Speaking of, I’ve got to make a team full of annoying pokemon.

DOUBLE EDIT: I’ve been making prebank movesets, but from here on out I’ve got to mess with postbank ones too, it’s coming on December 27th after all.

i’ve played bull a few times, i think it’s like 9-6 me or something like that in total (probably closer, he runs a lot of gimmicky teams while i stick by my awesome team)

phantom has felt my wrath

showdown isn’t that buggy, the only one i’ve seen so far is megavolving with pursuit, if they go to switch out and you pursuit, you don’t megavolve until after the have switched out, it’s pretty annoying, but other than that it’s pretty much the same as ingame (and faster!)

but don’t worry, i’m working on my ingame team, i have one poke complete (just gotta get him to level 100…there’s like no where to do it in game), gotta do the others

and for those who don’t think calcs are useless, stop it, calcs let you know what is safe and what isn’t, they’re incredibly helpful in finding things and of course theorymoning, they are the basis of pokemon since the number 1 reason why you switch out is because the opposing pokemon can KO your pokemon before you KO his/hers, and calcs show this easily

I’ve been sitting on the idea of making a Rain Dance team for awhile now.

I think I have yet to play you Mood, but I want to.

i’m really only able to play on the simulator now due to lack of an ingame team, after pokebank i will have an ingame team (hopefully all my stuff transfers)

so if you wanna play me, you gotta get me on the simulator

What exactly is this simulator? I hear you guys talking about it all the time but I have no idea what it is.

SInce I was on a different server my rating is low, but still, I threw Chandelure on this team.

If you have a team full of good resistances, Chandelure can put a team in a checkmate position…

EDIT: Very stall heavy and annoying.

pokemonshowdown.com is the simulator we talk about, it’s pretty addicting, especially when you have access to everything unlike in game where you have to actually work for it (yes…i’m lazy, fuck off)

it’s not perfect but it’s still a lot of fun
