Speaking of team/mon discussion, been trying the past day to figure out a possible set to somehow get Aurorus to work, and…it’s not going well. It does seem to have nice bulk and a respectable Sp. ATK stat, and Refrigerate is a neat ability, but…that typing really seems to kill it. 2 quad weaknesses and 4 other weaknesses, doesn’t resist any common typings at all…best I’ve been able to come up with is using it as a special tank on a sandstorm team and kill things with a STAB Ice Hyper Beam…I dunno. Perhaps there’s something with it I’m missing?
I’m simply waiting for Hidden Ability Amaura.

This is the set Smogon has up. It seems to me like the only one but I am not that creative.
Refrigerate makes Nature Power Tri-attack its best Stab. Honestly though 4x weakness to fighting and steal makes sure this thing will get murdered. It is also weak to entry hazards and it will have to be switched out a lot so need a good spinner as well.
The problem with that***(and the number one problem I have with Smogon and its ilk in general)*** is that you will never be able to argue against their logic on their site, as the fascist mods will lock/delete any threads and posts that call into question their decision-making processes.
Anything you post that deconstructs their concepts of what the game should be will be mocked and shunned in favor of circle-jerking whatever the mods think is good. I dare any of you that have never read a thread on Smogon to go there-- Poke(lol) around the forums, particularly anything metagame related and see for yourself.
Then come back here and tell me I’m wrong for not wanting anything to do with any ideas coming from that group.

this is a little exaggerated, your personal history with them is showing, idk what happened nor do i know the truth, i only know your side of the story, so i’m just going to leave it at that
they close the threads because they’re not constructive in any way and usually turn into a flame war, fairly certain same thing would happen here in a similar situation, so they stop it before it gets out of hand
i have yet to see them close a thread because it goes against the norm, only those that cause flame wars, or just really are unnecessary

Assault Vest, its 4x weaknesses are usually physical. It’s a special tank that you should run fully invested in HP evs, Aurorus has the highest health stat out of all rock pokemon ever released. It doesn’t need passive recovery, because it goes down pretty quickly.
I agree somewhat.-- It can take special attacks really well, but any physical strikes will cause it to crumble very quickly.
Outside of an offensive Assault Vest build, I feel Aurorus’ strengths lie with being team support; it can Dual Screen, use T-Wave, create a Safeguard, phaze with Dragon Tail/Roar, Haze away opponents’ stat boosts/create a Mist to protect your stats from being lowered, or tank up with Calm Mind and wall-break with Frost Breath/Refrigerate Echoed Voice
If your team a good support mon that can also dish out a little Ice type damage, and keep those pesky Water type switch-ins in check(Freeze Dry, FTW), then Aurorus can work… It just needs the proper support(Rapid Spin or Defog, plz) and team backing it up.

jellicent will actually make a great teammate for aurorus (resisting steel, immune to fighting and water, resists steel), any steel type will compliment this duo nicely, bisharp works nicely as it also resists dark and ghost attacks for jelli

Second, heads up on the rules in the Rotation Battle tournament:
4v4, same clauses and ** SAME BANNED POKEMON** as this one.
Best 2 out of 3 since people seem to like it that way.
There will be a loser bracket, so don’t give up if you lose!
You’ll be allowed to use two teams, your party and your Battle Box teams. You may not have the same pokemon on both teams.
If December 25th comes before the end (and it probably will) I’ll extend the timeline to give people time to get their mons moved.
If December 25th hits before we’re done, expect a new ban list.

Basically how switching teams will work:
The loser will have the option of switching their team if they want to. If they do then the winner must stick to the same team next battle has the option of switching their team as well. Remember, you are only allowed two teams. No swapping Pokemon out.

how does ice fail against grass? just blast them with ice attacks and they die, they aren’t switching in anytime soon
When I say grass, I meant I got swept by mega venusaur because no-one on my team does jack shit to him…
Chansey and Blissey also give me a rough time. I’m thinking of giving Mamoswine superpower. For some reason the assault vest version of him does good with that knock off move.
