i wish megabanette had some actual bulk, like seriously 64/75/83 is pretty shitty bulk (for comparison, mega gengar is slightly bulkier with 60/80/95…seriously, why is megagengar better in just about every way), seriously, if it had like 64/90/90 it would be so much better, it’s not like he gets that many moves to use off that insanely high attack stat (especially when he gets prankster)
the gimmick for m banette is to run a - speed nature, 0 speed IVs, and run D bond/shadow claw. you d bond first, then go second with shadow claw, so you’re always protected.
all this would stop if you guys had team locks during tournies for the winner if the winner won with x amount of pokemon alive. this leaves the opponent to either raw counter and run the riak of being locked himself, or run a team with a good counter and a very high chamce of winning.
so essentially you get a game like street fighter two where the match begins at the character select screen.
modify the outside rules rather than making changes to the actual game and restrict what can and cannot be used is bad design and a terrible way to adress solutions.
some of you fools want to amputate with out actually trying to think about solitions that are less harsh.
I feel that that Wisp and T-Wave are interchangeable. If you feel that you’re gonna be facing a lot of speedy opponents, even after he dies, then go with T-Wave. If you tend to fight more ground types or the fear of Mega Kanga/Lucario or Aegislash (seriously, why don’t people run a special set with this guy???) then you go with Wisp.
This is an excellent lead, stops set up stealth rocks, and OHKOs Gliscor with Ice Beam. Twave cripples shit, and Rotom can’t do anything but stare at him after being taunted because you can finish him with Destiny Bond.
He’s the MegaBanette that can, I’m keeping him and tossing Mega Banette off.
Mega Banette can take some physical hits, but with the existence of Talonflame, he can’t be burned.
Gliscor also gives Mega Banette some undue hardship. Personally, Mega Banette should’ve just been an evolution.
Because it takes one turn to set up a mega evo, I find myself having trouble outspeeding my opponent for that initial taunt. Something that Frostlass can do.
With Frostlass’ ability of Cursed Body, stopping the only attack that a Skarmory or Forettress would carry is no problem, and an uninvested Skarmory is 2HKOd, and he can’t roost the damage off. Ferrothorn is stopped in its tracks and you can switch into a safe counter.
Far too often have I found myself getting stealth rocked while waiting on that Mega Evo.
As it stands now, even with a speed nature, Banette is outran by too much. Mega Banette should’ve just been an evo, so Banette could hold an item.
Ampharos probably wins the award for the only electric pokemon with a dedicated rock move(power gem), I should just throw him on my team in his raw form, he seems good.
EDIT: Even though his mold breaker ability does nothing for him unless he runs thunderwave and your opponent has an Espeon.
@BullDancer Mold Breaker means Pokemon with abilities that absorb Electric attacks (Volt Absorb, Lightningrod, Motor Drive) can never switch into Mega Ampharos for free. It’s not THAT useless.
