SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

I meant Slaking…damn their similar names.

Slowking actually seems solid. Good SpA, great SpD, decently bulky. Of course that Speed will get him killed, but well…he’s called SLOWKing for a reason. He also has the Hidden Ability of Regenerator which is just great.

Compound Eyes + Sleep Powder + Quiver Dance + Hurricane + Base 100 Sp. Atk and Speed? Pretty fly.

A dollar says it gets some “Forme” thingy like Giratina/Kyurem. It’s still pretty strong, just not an Uber.

Slowbro has higher defense.

Slowking has higher special defense.

Both have access to same moves and the rest of their attacks and stats are the same.

However, they both have access to calm mind and because Slowbro has the ability to boost his special defense in battle leaving him strong in both defensive areas, Slowbro wins the battle of whose better.

Pick Slowbro lol, although Modest Sp. Defensive Wall Slowking(with some EVs invested in Special Attack) doesn’t sound terrible, the Bros and Kings are better tanks than sweepers(matter in fact they aren’t sweepers at all).

@Syke1 A good idea for a sweeper is MegaGyarados, is essentially has two abilities: One that lowers attack(Intimidate) and when you MegaEvolve him he gets Mold Breaker.

Give him some EVs to bulk him up, (I’d suggest 68-92 HP EVs, 252 Attack, Rest of EVs in speed). Swap him into a physical attacker/pokemon whose moves he resists or he can eat two of. Dragon Dance, MegaVolve, and Sweep.

If you feel like getting greedy, you can use his moxie ability instead, but you’re at a higher risk of getting KO’d while setting up, but it’ll work the same way. You can use moxie and invests more EVs in defense/Sp. Def and take some out of speed, but you’re at risk of getting out sped by faster threats even after Dragon’s Dance.

I think you would even be fast enough to outspeed mega gengar, if you give him a Jolly nature and mold breaker ignores levitate iirc so you can spam EQ with no worries.

Also, Klefki has priority spikes due to prankster, the first of its kind, sounds mad OP, move out the way Skarmory, welcome Klefki.

I believe he learns taunt, and probably has some other redeemable moves. Kingdom Hearts, the Pokemon sounds quite solid at entry hazard setup. I wonder how fast Klefki is, I need to know if he can outspeed other Pranksters such as Sableye.

Since sandstorm is now non-permanent, Priority Roar Riolu will probably do better this time around since Sandstorm will no longer eat his health away. He honestly belongs in the upper tiers, if he isn’t there already.

Mega Venasaur due to Thick Fat, is now one of the best walls in the game.

Only two weaknesses, and tons of resistance, plus powder moves is sick and boosting moves is>>>

Venasaur can go from a chlorophyll sweeper, to a wall at the snap of a finger, also one of the top Mega Evos.

Mega Lucario, MegaAbsol, Mega Gengar, Mega Garchomp, Mega Blaziken, Mega Mawile, Mega Gyarados) rate among the top mega-evos. The rest are kinda meh ish in comparison.

What about mega Kanga?

Sorry forgot him, he has Double Fake Out, Sucker Punch, Power Punch(its effect would activate twice), and double earthquake.

It’s the ultimate substitute breaker and sash breaker, and rolls over Cloyster like no ones business.

It can also hit Ghost types with its Fake and Power Up Punch so nothing is safe(due to the ability of Scrappy).

Truly excellent mega evo, Idk why I forgot to mention him.

EDIT: In this case, Kangaskhan was given all the tools to win, since he basically has bootleg swords dance now, that can’t be stopped by ghosts, and tons of bulk.

Brings tears to my eyes no homo.

From what I read, Mega Kanga can’t phaze with it’s first move, only the second attack.

I’m still picking up info for competitive battling but it’d be hilarious if that was the case. Still, I got a adamant Kanga so why not lol.

mega kanga cannot hit ghost types, it loses scrappy

i think he’ll be the first viable user of spite, it basically works like a permanent disable on certain moves

Trying to create a solid team utilizing all the new changes is quite difficult. There’s a quintillion different potential strats we can use and we haven’t even got access to all the Pokemon yet.

MegaKanga gets two-hit Pursuit for his buddy MegaGengar in addition to Power-Up Punch hitting twice and giving it +2 Attack everytime it hits.

I been telling people about MegaVenusaur’s walling potential… Water types can’t touch it, and Fire types can’t break it, especially with Rain support.

megavenusaur can’t hold leftovers, it really hurts it’s walling potential, it’ll probably have to run leech seed to have any sort of staying power

there’s a reason why blissey is still used over chansey even though chansey’s defensive stats are way higher thanks to eviolite

megablastoise on the other hand looks worthwhile as it gets dragon pulse, aura sphere, and dark pulse which are all boosted by it’s ability, a spinner that is able to deal with anti-spinners is pretty niche

Clawitzer gets Shell Smash <3. This might just be my new favorite water type.
http://serebii.net/pokedex-xy/693.shtml

Serebii also posted level up and Tm compatibility for all the XY pokemon

clawitzer doesn’t need shell smash, he’s got a mother fucking cannon that can blast holes in everything

seriously though, that’s pretty ballin

Clawitzer is that dude. Love its design. Shell Smash can patch up that Speed problem somewhat.

Oh my, Barbarcle gets Shell Smash as well. The usability of the water types this gen makes up the lack of new ones IMO. I still want a water/fire type and perm drizzle back, though.

Edit: The person that gave Barbarcle Skull Bash over Head Smash should be fired.

POkemon gangsters lord geezus

 shofu’s a pretty cool guy, and a great battler.

Double body slams, double stomps for that flinch, drain punches,

hell being able to move twice allows him to use a turn for Substitute. Doesn’t Kanga has a shit load of HP? The possiblities.
