i want a better defense than “outpredicting” as it’s a terrible argument
i’m just trying to help make it so we don’t automatically lose at the team preview without dedicating half of our team to stopping one of these stupid mons

Just worry seed stuff.
Don’t continue the cycle! What would Po do? BREAK THAT SHIT!!
Also, you haven’t added me…
Online sim battles are boring, I’m glad the actual game didn’t end up as rote and depressing as the online metagame.
People still be on Mgengars ghost dick? Seriously now… Let it go
I don’t see how you don’t understand that having volt switch on a single pokemon on your team does almost nothing to mega gengar… Same thing with gastro acid/worry seed(though I guess I can see that if you didn’t know the ability comes back when it switches and didn’t know it was blocked by sub). You can have a super sweet move with priority "automatically kills gengar, goes through protect, and sub, can’t be destiny bonded, 100% accuracy, cancels " and gengar would still be ridiculous because he could still just choose to not fight that pokemon.
I at least understand the “it has 24 moves at all times” argument, that’s really easy to make if you don’t know how the game works at high level very well.
there’s not much of a difference between the online simulator and wifi outside of a higher concentration of more skilled players
what i mean by this is becaues the online simulators have an online rating, it’s must easier to find an opponent of equal skill
hell, pokemon showdown even has moving sprites and sounds for all pokes that aren’t 6th gen, battles also go faster on showdown than over wifi
the hax is the same, everything outside of a few programming things (that have been fixed for the most part) is the same, it’s just way easier to find stats on an online simulator than it is over wifi battling (for obvious reasons), and you don’t have to breed (this is the biggest for me, i need to be perfect so i would spend way too much time getting the pokemon perfect and get frustrated, i’m also breeded out from last gen)
you can be just as creative on the simulator as you can over wifi, no one is stopping you
Alright. This is my final post on this matter and I’m done. I will NOT be talked down to like I don’t know how to play this simple ass game.
I’ve beaten every one of Smogon’s so-called best players at some point in time; In tournament, out of tournament, up, down, all around. I went 64-0 using my unique sets/playstyle on the old Netbattle Smogon server, and then capped it off by beating Skarm and Chaos back-to-back*(after the former had told the latter my entire team, no less)*, and as my reward, those salty bitches IP-banned me for six months.
Don’t assume that because I advocate some off-the-wall shit that I can’t hang on a fucking server somewhere. I lose because someone is better than me. I don’t lose because of crit-haxes, or misses or whatever other crybaby shit people scapegoat because they can’t accept losing is their own fault.
I don’t cry about shit being “uncounterable” or “overcentralizing” because its not in my nature. I find ways around things becuase that’s how I roll.
Quit banning shit and play it through. There’s 718 goddamned Pokemon and thousands of combinations of moves/stats/strategies… there’s no way you’re going to win every battle you play, so stop expecting to and getting upset when you get caught slipping.
So, for the last goddamned time: Fuck a Garchomp. Fuck Mewtwo. Fuck a Double Team. Fuck a Fissure. Fuck a Blaziken. Fuck a Gengar, and ultimately, fuck a Smogon. I hope you have fun with your boring ass, Stealth Rock ridden switchfest metagame you created.
MegaCario is beatable in the standard metagame(post Pokebank), but MegaKanga is so ridiculous because his +2 is so easy to get. He’s extremely bulky and only one typing in the entire game can him for super effective damage.
Other pokes are required to take a risk when Swords Dancing because swords dance does no damage, but this big motherfucker her gets two attack boosts for hitting you.
And has perfect neutral coverage with Fire Punch, Earthquake, Sucker Punch, and PUP
honestly, that’s the problem i’m having with the past 2 gens is that i can’t be creative anymore, they always get wrecked and i going to assume shoddy battle, i actually reached top 50 using my subsalac angry point tauros (glorious times), i don’t mean to condescend you
i just want a better argument than “out predict”, shit i’m still angry that smogon allows kyurem-b in standard when he shits all over stall (i miss playing stall…)
Hmm I apologize, that was talking down, and was uncalled for, but you have been talking down to everyone the whole time as well, getting super tired of all the “your not thinking outside the box” and “you all just aren’t trying things” etc… And as much as I defend their banning policies I’m not a particularly huge smogon fanboy, I essentially only go there for their stats. I think expecting a game with over 700 characters to balanced is just not feasible and would rather cut out the top end of that and allow more variety than only running specific mons/strategies.
I don’t know about you guys, but I just want to play pokemon.
this is our competitive thread, and i am here to help make it so that when we play each other, we don’t lose at the team preview
Shit , even on the battle servers you get called out for thinking outside the box. Hell, I ran outrage on my kanga and a dude insta rage quit on me.
Smogon makes battling people too easy. Niggas like gliscor hiding behind the poison heal all day like smogon tells them to.
And the switchfests they have thinking that I’m gonna run into an immunity and see their Pokemon get murked in 1 shot… Niggas want shit handed to them on a platter smh…
what is the best team
Six RBY Mewtwo’s.
That’s 5 more than you need.
There’s a reason he had his own bossfight in Stadium 1.
the others were back-up plans in cased you messed up
although, the likelyhood of that even mattering were very slim anways
That brought back memories of when my S-Toss/Torment/Protect/Wish Hypno would cause dudes to ragequit back in the day, esp. versus Breloom. Who would’ve thought such a simple strat would get people so pissed?
that just sounds mean but it also depends on who you’re playing as anything with taunt or status ruins that set, actually, a ghost type ruins that set entirely but i’m sure you would never leave that in on a ghost pokemon
it’s gimmicky as all hell as hypno’s defensive typing sucks dick (let alone, he’s not overly bulky, just bulky), heatran gets away with torment so much better because pokes usually only carry just 1 attack that can deal significant damage to him, it’s also backed-up by his typing (which is awesome), i could honestly see this being good if hypno was faster as all they really have to do is switch to a set-up sweeper and set-up on obvious turns (like protect after wish, set-up after torment
but i will say, no one in their right mind would be prepared for it
