SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

Even though I wouldn’t like to fight both a Doublade and an Aegislash, I guess it’s fair . The only reason it’s questionable is because it’s as close as you can get to using two of the same Pokemon on a team, which is obviously not allowed. What about a Pokemon like Meowstick, whose male and female forms have different abilities and move pools? They share the same Dex number, but they might as well be different Pokemon all together. How do we deal with that?

I’ll join the tourney. I think my friend wants to join too. I’ll post up my friend code and all that. I have like 9 pokemon ready to be trained now.

I’d make an exception.

Meowstic are different forms of the same pokemon and have the same dex number, therefore both the male and female version are not allowed on the same team, no ambiguity there lol

Look at this… They could be completely different Pokemon like Plusle/Minun. However, they share a state similar to Nidoran(m)/Nidoran(f). Idk why they were designed this way, but I would be on board with both being allowed on the same team.

the what about the rotom forms that you are not allowing? different typings and access to a different move means they can’t play the same
we also got the different sizes of gourgeist, different stats let them do different things, so we can allow that to?
same for giratina and giratina-o

if they share the same pokedex number, they cannot be used on the same team

Y’all are making this shit overly complicated now

Does anyone know if Zoroark can learn Moonblast or Dazzling Gleam through breeding?

Let’s end this pointless discussion. No two Pokemon can have the same dex number.

there’s not enough to allow meowstic m and meowstic f as separate pokemon. they are pretty freakin different though (different learn set, different possible ability) but probably not enough to get past the same dex number (rotom formes, wormadam formes, etc)

Fine…

Speaking of Meowstic(female), though… I’m working on a Calm Mind set, but I’m not sure what moves to give it…

Here are my options(Ability is Competitive, btw):

  • Shadow Ball
  • Thunderbolt
  • Energy Ball
  • Psyshock
  • Psychic
  • Signal Beam
  • Future Sight
  • Dark Pulse

I wish it got Moonblast but, noooooo, they give it Disarming Voice…

Of the top 20 the only pokemon I’ve ever had a hard time dealing with is swagger klefki

Expected as much… Looks like Aegislash and Greninja are running things.

90% of the rules are tourney standard rules, why are you guys trying to fight this? And who even uses the same pokemon multiple times in a single team???

Greninja really doesn’t like sticky web.

Remember, those stats only cover 8 days. Not really good for analyzing things.

yeah, i t’s still fun to look at though, I assume certain things will drop and raise. I think gengar will go up, he’s a monster but people are really bad at using him for some reason(they keep going toe to toe with my specially defensive zapdos with discharge for some reason).

Nobody’s trying to “fight” anything. We’re just discussing what should and shouldn’t be allowed.

I thought sylveon and khangashkhan would be higher.

Dugtrio is a little low. Focus Sash Dugtrio is a great Aegislash revenge killer, and was always a pretty solid attacker. I can see it rising, but not that much higher. Aegisslash and Greninja are like the MVC2 Jill and Cammy of XY. Scary in the first days of the game, but not solid enough to have any lasting value. Now, if water shurikens was a sp.att move…

doesn’t surprise me aegislash, greninja, and talonflame are the top 3, completely new toys to play with so everyone has to try them out

surprised azumarill is that low though, he’s awesome
