Reuniclus has so much health that Blaziken would off himself with two flare blitzes and hi jump kick isn’t solid coverage against him, and Reuniclus is a solid revenge killer.
My idea went something like this:
Turn 1: Blaziken kills something
Turn 2: Reuniclus switches in
Turn 3: Blaziken +2 flare blitzes(worst case scenario)
Turn 4: Reuniclus uses Trick Room
Turn 5: Reuniclus kills with psychic or Blaziken switches out
If Reuniclus switches in when Blaziken uses protect, he can set up trick room, and even if Blaziken sword dances, Reuniclus is faster than him for 5 whole turns.
252 Atk Life Orb Blaziken Flare Blitz vs. 192 HP / 64 Def Reuniclus: 282-333 (68.94 - 81.41%) – guaranteed 2HKO
So Trick Room Reuniclus can’t switch in. How about Bold Calm Mind Reuniclus?
252 Atk Life Orb Blaziken Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Reuniclus: 208-247 (49.05 - 58.25%) – 64.45% chance to 2HKO
That’s a Jolly Blaziken. Adamant?
252+ Atk Life Orb Blaziken Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Reuniclus: 230-270 (54.24 - 63.67%) – guaranteed 2HKO
If it’s Mega, Reuniclus always gets 2HKO’d. At +2, Reuniclus is straight up obliterated unless it has a Sash, so there is no contest there. You can’t switch it in, so that means you’re sending something in to die so you can take Blaziken out later, which means two things can happen:
A: It can backfire on you if it goes for Swords Dance as you send in your death fodder.
B: You keep sending in Pokemon to die just so Reuniclus gets a safe switch to check it.
Reuniclus can force him out if he’s not at +2, yes, along with a multitude of other Pokemon. But it’s not a solid counter.
If he swords dances instead of Protect, you’ll have to eat a Flare Blitz to set up a Trick Room.
After you kill Blaziken, you can use recovery to heal off any damage or if it has Regenerator you can switch it out, leaving you with a fresh pokemon.
I wasn’t talking about switching a Reuniclus in on an attack, it’s quite obvious that he gets 2OHKO’d. I was talking about setting up trick room in the face of a +2 Blaziken and KOing him.
The only focus of this was using Reuniclus as a revenge killer after Blaziken has a swords dance and is tryna sweep.
Yes Reuniclus can come in on a Protect or SD, but I think any Blaze user would switch and try to take it out from there (and god help Ren if Aegis is switched in.) If it comes in on a Flare Blitz it’s in trouble. Not a straight up counter, but something Blaze will have to be wary of.
Huh. It’ll work then. Jellicent can OHKO with Surf when it protects/SD’s on the switch, and if that doesn’t get it then the recoil from Flare Blitz will.
not entirely reliable, but as i said before, pray to go he doesn’t have baton pass cause him sending something like +2 / +2 or even +2 / +1 to anything else and your team is fucked
if it doesn’t have BP, then your team should be okay as long as you have something else to deal with him on top of jelli
I would think 3OHKO if Quagsire has leftovers lol, plus recover. Blaziken would be dead from life orb damage before killing Quagsire I would think(I wish somebody would run an in battle test)
Baton Pass is the big issue. Even if you try to revenge kill with TR Reuniclus or something, Blaziken could just BP the SD boost to a priority user like Aegislash, Scizor, or Talonflame. Heck, Aegislash and Scizor will set up even further on Reuniclus.
Quagsire unaware with Haze might be able to slow Blaziken down, but it’d just be delaying the inevitable. And as mentioned before, quagsire isn’t taking HJK with hazards up.
When doing these calculations, are you guys taking into account that Wi-Fi battles are Lv.50 Standard, not Lv.100? I was watching shofu’s stream yesterday and that point came up… Apparently, the stats scale differently from Lv.50 to Lv.100.
i’m doing this at level 100, there shouldn’t be that much of a difference, the only big difference should be speed
yea, changed both blaziken and quagsire to level 50 and HJK now becomes a guaranteed 2HKO, no SR too
the difference is like 1%, so doing them at level 50 or level 100 doesn’t seem to make much of a difference
also, you can do level 100 wifi battles, just not “ranked” level 100 battles, i’m pretty sure of it
