It’s not that Pontiac or Saturn was affiliated with Holden.

Holden, Vauxhall, Opel ect is/was a GM company, like Saturn, Pontiac, Chevy, ect.

They imported some Holden, Opel, Vaux cars and rebadged them as familiar names for Americans. I believe the first Holden we got in America was the Cadillac Catera in late 90’s.

So the cars are not American, which is why for the time, the 2004+ Pontiac GTO had interior leagues better than an actual American cars. Also the current Chevy SS sedan is a Holden, and the recent police-only Caprice was also such.

Side note the Opel and Vauxhall Speedsters were Lotus Elise based twins with Ecotec (Cavalier/Sunfire/Saturn) motor. The Lotus from which they were based also used the GM motor, before the 2nd gen, swapping to the Toyota engine. The US also didnt get the GM powered Elise.

Some random pictures from my hot mess build. My starter chewed up another set of contacts and left me stranded at a gas station…probably thanks to my wizardry rewiring and relocating my battery in the rear storage compartment. So while the Hot Mess Express sits until I feel like fixing that and my exhaust leaks, I decided to do things ass backwards and work on the nitrous system I may never get to use! Made some brackets for some ebay Nitrous Express solenoids I scored at a great price. I picked up a hard line kit and spray plate actually designed for another application but was able to make it work on mine.

Looking to finally buy an engine management system in the next month or so. Lookng at the FAST EZ EFI 2.0. Self learning after you enter in all the required metrics and it actually can progressively ramp in nitrous. Looking forward to it. Until then I gotta do the boring stuff like fix leaks.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Performante beats the 918 around the Nurb by 5seconds :wow:

On Facebook, a lot of people were talking shit on the new Type R. Now I’m not a huge fan of the previous models. But come on, the car caught so much flack and it hasn’t even been released in the US yet so my brain twitched reading a lot of these comments.

In Europe, it got good reviews from the videos I’ve watched. People in the fb post, talked how the Subaru wrx is so much better, but it has less power, it weighs more, and the interior isn’t as good as what’s in the type r. If you look at nurburgring lap times, its 5 seconds slower than the type r. People talked up about the focus rs and iirc from the videos, its not up to par with the type r.

And lastly, people talked shit on the styling, saying its riced out from the factory or it bit off the styling off of the subaru. But the styling is from a gt spec Honda. Basically people just want to shit on this car because the pricing and its fwd.

Would I spend 30+ grand for a type r, hell no. But does that mean it can’t do as well as other platforms because its “wrong wheel drive?” So far, when it can hang with Porsche and other high end sports cars at the most demanding and challenging track in the world, I’d say its at least worth a fucking test drive before people start running their mouths.

I would like to say that the motorcycle communities are better, but ho Lee fuk, they can be even more retarded on their even higher retarded horses.

Spring is officially here in the Midwest. The brine or what ever that corrosive road ice melting shit has been washed away so people are now busting out their rides. My Civic Si needs some work done, got a quote not too long ago for replacing a cracked fog light assembly, fucking over $250 from the stealership. I’m going to see if I can find one somewhere else. Besides that, going to fit my Advan RGD wheels once I save up for lugs and possibly spacers if I run into any clearance issues. If money is good this year, I’ll probably get into my clutch and finally get rid of the annoying sound when the car starts moving from a stop. And finally get a hondata and get a custom map to liberate more HP and toque. But the ecu flash is $700 and because I have to do motorcycle stuff like valve adjustment, brakes and lines, tires, track days, I might hold off on the hondata tell next year. Oh and my truck needs work too. So I’ll be busy and broke this spring and summer. What about you dudes?

Type r ia 45k.

That car deserves all thr shit and flak it gets for that price point. You can get a focus for 35k. Id be defending thr type r if it cost 30k, no reason it should cost more than a hyndai genisis coupe

Price is one thing I won’t get into. I’m just annoyed on the trivial banter. pricing can be on an entire different discussion as look at the cost of jap sports cars and the same ball park of other makes. The only consistent performance to cost application, that I know of, is sportbikes where majority of makes is generally going to be similar numbers.

I need a 720S in my life

Ford GT press embargo is lifted so net is flooded with reviews

Pretty impressive suspension technology

I put in my 2 weeks notice at a temp job and will be turning wrenches again at a local shop before I attend school in the fall. Killing 2 birds with one stone as I’ll be getting full time and making a little more while finally being able to get my Advan RG-D wheels mounted with yokohoma s drive tires and readjust my coilovers and alignment. Might have to get camber arms to adjust the camber on the rear but since I’m raising the height I could go without them in the mean time.

Also my truck needs work done, since its been parked for a while the rust is getting worse and today I poked a hole through the passenger rear wheel well panel. I dont want to let it go or scrap it and so I plan on making it a project truck later on. But now I gotta order some copper contact points for the starter and get the windshield replaced.

And as for my bike, I did a coolant flush and replaced the OEM stuff with Engine Ice. Flushing it wasn’t difficult, taking off the fairings was. Ended up snapping a couple hooks and losing a couple grommets. But now my bike is ready for the track tomorrow.

Welp, it was only a matter or time before the inevitable of using a collectors bike on track…
While I avoided a rolling boulder of a crash bike in my line, some doofus “closed the door” on my entry part of the turn from a long straight. I went off track and as I’m trying to slow down only using my rear brake I slide into a trench and got ejected.

I’m OK, my bike is mechanically fine I think, but the fairings on one side got fucked up along with other parts. I’m most likely shit out of luck as I highly doubt I can get exact replacement plastics as the paint job is a one off custom. Fucking sucks but I was aware this shit could happen. Just glad it was the crash I avoided earlier

This car is so stupid, but there is something about that supercharger whine though.

why is it stupid? Wouldn’t that make all cars worth more than 35k retarded.

Doesn’t have V-Tec. Of course it’s stupid

its laking in japans latest rice cooking technology.

Gotcha!

It’s a statement more in jest, but the SRT Demon is woefully unnecessary. It’s impressive as a machine, but this is Dodge’s “because we can” vehicle.

[quote=“Optimus124, post:1619, topic:75512”]

IDK, Dodge has like 3 becasue I can vehicles. Viper ACR, Trackhawk, and this now. It’s kinda cool seeing America proving again that we da bess.

Dodge has everything. They have the fastes SUV, the fastest for track use, and the fastest straightline car. Dodge is raping every car manufacture in terms of performance, god how I wish GM didn’t sell out and make the C7 shit just to sell to fucking losers
