LOL at GT-R being every man’s dream car @Tekno Virus. I really don’t want to get into it, but…I have nothing but bad things to say of that car based on the facts and not the hype.
Took a GT-R around the track a little while back… sturdy and fast, but not as much fun as they should be for how much they cost. Personally I had a way better time in an M3.
That Hellcat engine is the shit, but damn them for not putting it in a Dart.
Man, I can’t wait until I’m able to buy an FR-S. I’m going to put in a 10,000 dollar down payment on it after I save for a couple of years or less. I’m going to turn it into a street legal race car. I don’t really need to reduce it’s weight since it’s already so light at 2,800 pounds. Power wise, my goal is 320whp and the handling prowess of a super car.
Somewhere down the road, I will be planning on installing this wide body kit when I have enough money. I will be trying to replicate a GT-300 car. This will be a an ongoing build project which will be done in steps.
For the old school look, I think the R34 or S15 Silvia are nice. I don’t think there is a best car. It all depends on what you’re trying to do and first and foremost, your skills. For me, I just want to have fun, so the best car for me would be the FR-S for style or the 370z.
Are S2000 owners selling their cars yet? I’d love to grab one of those as a project car, but the few people I know who bought them are basically like “fuck you, I’m being buried in this car.”
I’m a big fan of that style as well. i would love to get my hands on an FR-S. it is a body style that I love. I like tons of cars but that FR-S really made me want to buy it.
Oh and my wife told me she wants and Audi A4 (random I know).
The pic of the FRS above paints my point. Without all of that done to it, it’s a ‘meh’ looking car. And knowing that a V6 Camry would stomp on it in a straight line is just funny.
Yeah, in straight line racing many cars can beat it, but the FR-S was never meant to be a drag racer. It was meant to be an overall balanced and well handling car that is like a blank canvas for upgrades. It was never meant to be a super car in any way. As for the looks, I believe it was meant to be somewhat neutral in appearance for the purpose of making it a blank canvas.
I don’t care much for drag racing. It’s pretty much mainly the person with the fastest car that wins in a drag race. Drag racing does not take the driver into the equation very well, but the driver is still important though just not as important when it comes to who is really winning which is the car mainly. Drag racing doesn’t take much skill, but it does take skill though.
In stock form, I think the FR-S is good looking enough. Besides, I’m a overall performance type of guy. The car needs to accelerate well, stop well, and turn well and the FR-S does all that in one package.
no it’s not. It’s supposed ot be an introductory car for drifting. Which explains it’s 185 low grip pruis tires, and Toyota’s marketing campaign which made sure to include images of the over rated corolla AE86…
Also, way to expose yourself. drag racing is all about driver and knowing your car and tires. (Launch control is for losers)
I have heard the number 1 complaint with the gtr being no fun to drive because it drives it self??? Isnt having a good safe car a goodthing?? I must have missed the point where everyone wants to race death machines winner is the one who survives. But really im not quite sure what people mean when they say its no fun. Like “oh its fast pwerful and handles great but its no fun.” What does that even mean??? Also GT-R is my personal obtainable dream car followed by the slightly more expensive R8. I have a friend in the family who owns one supposedly i need to get out there and try it out such a sexy car.
