I still got my 1995 Honda Accord LX which I probably am attached to. It’s a fun to drive car that handles really well and goes fast. I’ve seen guys work on apartment parking lots. I guess if you’re really good, you can make it happen. Right now, I drive a 2007 Honda Civic LX.
I’ve gotta reread through the thread examine a little closer what you’ve done. Stuff like spark plugs, lube oil, tranny oil drain, battery, audio, I know can be on a parking lot without too much hassle.
Well I’d say look at what you want/need to do to your project car. A lot of stuff you mentioned can be done without jacking the car up, so I would suggest starting there. I think plugs/wires are always a good way to go when first doing a project. You can usually feel a difference when you install them. Oh and get NGK, they are considered the best. I am actually going to start with my audio soon, because the one that the previous owner had has been severely abused and therefore the front speakers are busted. Actually if anyone knows anything about car audio please send some info my way. I don’t need anything earth shattering, just something with a little bump and sounds good.
Picked up another beater. Of course, even this family appliance is a stick for me… Looks like some wannabe trailerpark ricer who didnt have money owned it.
That shift knob gotta go, and all that junk on the back gotta go. Horrible backwater tint job. Nightshades on the tail lights (aka rice shades)MIGHT keep that Facebook “You like this” on there, because incidentally I have one on my Prelude.

Gotta throw some sound in it, find some OEM 17" Lexus wheels lower it, call it a day.
I feel you on the ricer ish. I hate when folks do that (you remember my Ek). Well I got rid of the EJ7. I traded it to a guy for an MK4 Jetta 1.8t. Needless to say, I got the better end of the deal. The turbo is nice, I just need to clean the interior some more and pick up some new tires and I am set. I know for sure I will eventually get a Borla exhaust. Anyway, I am pretty pleased with the trade. I have not experienced any electrical issues. Basically I have to get used to the fact that the gas mileage isn’t as good as the Honda though. I will post pics later though.
So how did that trade come about?
Well basically dude wanted 4k for it. So I hit him up because he said he would be willing to trade for tools, cars, etc. Well I told him I had the EK and we set somethin up. He was out in Amelia, and I went out there and basically the cars was filthy. Like really dirty. So it turns out it was just a commuter car until his truck was out of the shop. So I told him I would give him the Ek for it since he just needed a commuter for the next couple of weeks then he would sell it. So I let him keep the box subs in the trunk and suggested he put it in the EK so he could just sell it to some young kid wanting a Honda when his truck is out of the shop. So yeah, that’s about it. The car runs great, way better than the EK. The only grip is VW’s gearbox. That thing is soooo clunky, but other than that it is a nice car considering the nature of the trade.
Im thinking of selling or trading my first car, its a 96ex Civic…I got it new for my high school graduation haha im old. Never had any problems with it, how much do you think i can sell it for or get for trade.
Going to get myself a used pickup truck, need one of these for when i pickup arcades n other bulky stuff. Any recommendation?
Basically, no shifter is touching the Honda Civic/Integra rod shifters from the D and B series. So after that, anything feels like ass.
But yeah, based on the model being an HX for a 1.8t you came out good. Not so much had it been a 2.slow.

Civics are worth what people will pay. One owner helps, no Honda cancer would also help. You could easily look in your local craigslist and find a straight up trade for any pickup. Just dont trade it in to a dealer.

I agree with FaceMeAndBeBroken, don’t deal with the stealership. I would find the kelly blue book value of it.
If I’ve opened a container of motor oil but never used it, can it go bad? Will I mess up my car if I try using it now? I keep the oil in my trunk, so it’s always sealed, and the oil has never spilled out.
I guess it’s a dumb question since oil comes from underground and sits there for years.

The oil itself, probably not, the preservatives and additives? Yes. Also, there is always the risk of atmospheric moisture intrusion.
If it was store in this way, it’s okay:

Body is pretty clean but the interior needs work. They guy selling had over $2500 sound system in there. I told him I didn’t want it, he kept it and lowered the price.
Great vid looking at Aston Martin’s servicing and manufacturing practice
Modded BRZ, twice the BHP triple the torque! Insane

It’s a clean looking car overall, but the previous owner was what I’d call a JDM ricer idiot. It’s like he tried to do JDM styled mods, but messed up with some noob ricer mistakes.
Remove that wakaba badge ASAP. I dont know how much you know about this type of stuff, but it’s a Japanese “new driver” badge, which JDM ricer idiots somehow adopted as a decoration. In it’s true context it says a scrub/noob is driving so be careful because I suck.
Also that lip is a JDM ricer’s first mod. That’s a 99-00 Civic “Type R” style replica lip made for 96-98. It’s usually something that noobs order, because they’re looking for cheap “Type R” stuff, and that’s usually the first thing that pops up on ebay. The shame is they can get a cheap replica of the actual 96-98 style, but most of the noobs dont know that there is a difference, they just see “Type R” and think “Tyte car”
The actual Type R lip for your year: You can tell the difference in how it fits, and and flush with the bumper.

Also, paint those drums back to black. And I would get rid of the headlight since he painted them amber. I’m just saying. I know you didn’t do any of the stuff, but if you are into this stuff even a little, this is info you should know. And as unfair as it is, people would snob you if went to some car thing. That is if you even care about stuff like that.
What happens when you try to escape a parking ticket from a cop…
FaceMeAndBeBroken, thanks for the info. Thats good to know. I pretty much know nothing about cars. I’m looking for a decent pair of 6 1/2 and 6x9’s. I was thinking about getting these for the doors. bestbuy.com/site/Polk+Audio±+6-1/2%22+Coaxial+Loudspeakers+with+Poly-Mica+Cones+(Pair)/9985099.p?id=1218205765007&skuId=9985099
Are they any good? I’m on a pretty low budget right now. What would be a decent pair of 6x9’s?

i copped some pioneer speakers and the were pretty decent for my 99 civic when I had it. But it depends on what you want though. If you want something that handles highs and mids well. I wouldn’t recommend getting something super ridiculous with heavy bass. Mainly because it can rattle and what not. Basically you want something crisp and clear. Installing is sooooo easy, especially since you have a hatch. When I put mine in my EJ7 coupe it took about a couple of hourse mainly because the speakers the previous owner had were slop. He had them installed all wrong and just a whole bunch of other thigs. Like Faceme said, et rid of that crap and go legit. It may cost more, but you wan’t stuff that is made for your civic, knock offs are not the way to go for real. Good luck and I hope this advice helped.
thanks, any and all info will help. any idea on how much front and back ends would cost?
Front and back ends?
might as well name this the show off your Honda Civic thread
