Daaamn I wish I had $45k to spend on a car. I’d buy a 2012 Genesis R-Spec easily the best bang for your buck.
“Unfortunately, with 43 more horsepower than the outgoing V6 and improved fuel economy, the base 3.8-liter Genesis is more appealing than ever. With a snappier final drive ratio than its V8 brethren, the V6 even feels pretty quick off the line, making the extra coin for the 5.0 R-Spec even more difficult to justify. If you’re signing on the dotted line for a Genesis, stick with the base model and use some of the cash you saved to pick up a set of the Bridgestone rubber available on the big R for a little more grip. You’ll be happier in the long run.”
I’d pass on that one. Though if I was going to get a “lux” car, it would probably be a Hyundai. Don’t like BMW and MB is too plain for my taste
What year you got and model you got? Mine is an 06 R/T in Bright Silver Metallic. Love the hell out of my car.
Cosmetic Changes:
SRT Hood
Chin Spoiler
Daytona rear fascia add-on
Billet Autobot Front and Rear insignia (BEST MOD EVER!!!)
Performance -
Mopar CAI
Corsa Catback
I got to find an old pic though. Someone clipped the rear quarter panel in a parking lot and waiting to get the work done.
I hate the charger. It sucks for tall people, like hte angle of the windshield means I have to stop WAY back at stop lights. shrug

If I was gonna gonna drive one of the cars based off that chassis, it’d be the 300C SRT8. Even then, I’d be looking into a manual T56 swap or something.
Getting my Prelude painted Sunburst Gold Metallic from the 2000 Mustang. It’s got the engine back out, it’s getting painted inside and out, and engine bay, and I’m getting a good deal, since I had prior work done by this shop with previous cars years ago.
Its annoying, but I still wouldn’t toss her.
Man the SRT is a beast. Had the chance to ride in one. It’s not for everyone, as it is more for the Mopar fanatic. While I like the 2012 Charger SRT, it looks like a giant EVO
I actually looked at the Genesis, it was actually my first choice. The price difference between the loaded V6 and the V8 is only a few grand though - to me it wouldn’t make sense to get the V6 over the V8. The gas mileage difference isn’t that significant since I don’t drive too much. A few thousand in price wouldn’t really hurt me either. Test driving the 2011 Genesis V8, the torque puts the V6 completely to shame. The new V6 drives well, but they didn’t have any V8’s in at all. Sad that they didn’t update the 4.6 V8 at all. Haven’t gotten a single one at the dealer yet, which is why I decided to pass since I found a used M35 and a used E550. The Genesis was the only car I planned on buying brand new, but they simply didn’t have one of the lot, so they lost my business.
Sold my Miata - it got broken into and wrecked the day after I sold it. The new owner already had insurance on it and his insurance company called me to verify it wasn’t existing damages. It’s a damn shame, that car was in great condition.
Now, I need to sell my Prelude… but after all the work I put into that car, I’m a little hesitant to let it go.
Wife gave the nod to the Traverse…time to deal and get 0% APR
Lot of nissans and hondas in here
what suspension setup you rocking on the scion?
Damn all this talk about Hyundais… I was actually looking at an 07 Tiburon SE. I’ve read about the issues… Though i don’t know if Hyundai made the 07-08 ones with a better clutch this time or not. I was almost 100% sold on it until I read about the stock clutch issues, such as it wearing out completely at just like 30k miles or so.
I wanted an affordable sporty FWD coupe that would last me 5 years or so or til I finished school. Anyone know people who own the newer ones? They look so nice it’s sad to not be able to get it. Plus not many people have em. Perhaps there’s a reason why…
Hyundai isn’t really good for aftermarket stuff and their platform models seem to be lacking. My suggestion is maybe a honda civic, nissan sentra, mazda speed series. They all have a great platform to work on, and with a little more money thrown in, you can get that sporty fwd car you want. My 2 cents.
Bought myself some Junction Produce goodies. Also got a set of JDM window visors.

Going VIP style with the M. Unfortunately, there aren’t really any nice looking kits available for my model year. Stuff for 2008+ models is rare. The Junction Produce kit doesn’t look too good. Considering swapping to the OEM sport model bumpers. Next addition will probably be an Air Runner suspension. Wheels will come after that… haven’t found anything standout yet, but very tempted to pick up some Junction Produce Scara wheels.
Repainted bumper and trunk. Polished, buffed, waxed entire car. Got full detail inside and out. 3 1/2 days without a car, but got it back yesterday in showroom condition.
Nice got any more pics?
Ducky: What year is your infiniti M? How do you like it?
I’m selling my cars so if anyone wants a 2004 G35 coupe or 2010 GT-R send me a pm.
selling a 10 nissan GTR? why? where? how much?
Yeah,
Don’t drive it enough/want it anymore.
Miami, FL
$72k
- It’s pretty nice. Compared to all the cars I test drove, I settled on it. It’s bigger than a BMW 3, Infiniti G, MB C class, etc. Within the mid level, it’s more roomy on the inside than most of the cars it competes against. The power is more than enough, I don’t regret getting a M35 over a M45 at all. Pretty much all of the cars in that class have more than enough power for anything reasonable. The interior is nice - a little more button heavy than BMW and Audi, but far less cluttered than Acura.
I wish it had more gears to squeeze out better gas mileage. The steering isn’t as linear as European counterparts and took a little to get used to, but I can say I like it now. Some people might not, I know I didn’t at first. Feels almost overboosted at slow speeds but feels precise at high speeds. Suspension leans a little more on the sporty side, that may or may not be a good thing.
Overall, I like it.
