GPS wise Kenwood shits on everything (well, being partnered with Garmin makes it so) but for the iPod?!? Shit is the WORSE! Lags 6-10 seconds when trying to switch songs (with album art); disconnects and freezes…

Ah crap, just looked up my interior…its going to be custom work to get my stuff mounted again. At least this time there is room. And there is no emergency brake in the middle meaning that head in the whip wil lbe 900 times easier WOOO HOOOO!

meh found a better picture of what my dash will look like. It won’t be a custom mount - but its a din and a half size opening if I want to keep it as stock looking as possible. I’m sure there is a kit somewhere for it shrug.

What does suck however is that its an infiniti based system, so I’ll have to disconnect the built in amp (and phyiscally remove :wink wink: it ), and replace all the speakers for my audio swap, so it will have to be a ‘one fell swoop’ change.

I don’t know, not bashin, but I’ve never been a fan of the iPod in the mix with my double dins. Heard of too many issues with iPods and dd units, and that’s with all major brand.

I’m trying let go of my current Pioneer and upgrade to a AVIC-Z series. Anyone rockin these units?

Heard they work better than the Kenwoods but the navi sucks ass. I’m really feeling any of the 2011 model units; they need to get the basics (ipod navigation) together before adding random ass shit like pandora and lastfm and what not.

My car was featured in a local car blog, check it out when you have the chance. peace

The S14’s look okay, but did none of them have an engine (KA-T, SR, RB) to match the looks?

I couldn’t rock a S14 that looks like that, but can’t light the meats up.

Clean…like the purple job.

Nice rides. The stickers gotta go though imo.

The reason why her car won’t drive more than 30-35 mph is because the car is set in “Limp home” mode. I’m not sure what would cause that, but I’d take it to the dealership to have the technician use a factory scan tool to see what’s up. The scan tools that autozone use are generic and they wouldn’t give you a clear answer.

Happened to notice the SN sticker. Which one of these do you drive?

I should have my new set of wheels come in Tues/Weds. Ordered the tires and ready for install! Rolling/pulling fenders this weekend.

My whip wasn’t reviewed but was featured on a blog as well, after a Scion show/meet that went down in Houston, TX. My crew left with 4 trophies and received the “Fresh as F*ck” award.

Thanks bro. Those are genuine baby moon hubcaps wrapped in white vinyl.

I’m moving to Chicago and am going to ship my pretty much brand new car there. My questions:

  1. Has anybody shipped a car before? How is $725 for shipping? Are these services reliable?

  2. How expensive are those rest proof services? Are they worth it? Should I do it where I am (California), or when I’m in Chicago?

I have pulled the trigger on a 396 build for my Corvette. I’ve wrestled with the costs vs the benefits long enough and told myself to grow a pair and just do it. Will be a hydraulic roller block with a forged bottom end. Top end will be aluminum AFR heads of 210 or higher. I originally specified a 383 with a bullet proof bottom end to my builder. He insisted if I was going to fork out the dough for a forged bottom end I was on the doorstep of a 396. It’ll be a top end puller, I did the L98 TPI long enough and 4200 rpm and the car nosing over got old.

It’s been 10 years since my Corvette was on the road and I figured why not cough up some extra bucks and put it back on the road with some decent power. Looking at around 530 hp overall and 6500 rpm wind up. Definitely going to be a lot of fun. The build is going to cost 7 grand though…the only downside. =/

The builder however will be balancing the rotating assembly to within 1 gram of tolerances compared to the more lax 5-7 gram one would get out of a crate motor. Will rev very smooth and be packed with parts I can beat on and not have to worry about it. Will post pics as progress begins! Looking to at least have the short block together by December. Worth the wait. R.I.P., bank account.

I got a family friend who does shipping of cars (I believe, checking on it now…I can get you in touch with him (PM Me)

Looks like I found my new car, Chevy Traverse! Fits all my DJ gear and still has seating for 4. Can tow also, so if I go ape shit with my equipment I can get a Wells Cargo and be good to go. Time to hit up USAA and get some financing done

Bought myself an Infiniti M35… chose it over a E550. I’m fairly happy with my decision.

I just spent a healthy penny on my inhereted car, still a bunch of work to do to get it to where I want though. I’m going to end up gutting the interior, I don’t like the shape of the doors and the front seats would look better if rehapolstered. Its got a shit ton of trunk room and inside room though…might actually install both woofers, I’ve had an HX2 in the box for like 7 years now haha. I hope it hasn’t dry rotted or something.
