So, yeah…I definitely feel it both clothing wise and physically. But I feel like I could have lost more. But I did gain substantial strength so. Still no excuse.
Mexican food is too OP to not have coke with it. Diet taste like shit, and Zero taste terrible. They are just as bad for you btw. The way I see it is continued management of the amount of coke that I drink is better for the long run. If I assume that I’m going to drink coke when I’m older, which I am, I’m better of establishing long term habits with regular coke. Besides, with the amount of sweets and bread that I’m now not eating anymore is better.
You don’t even need to workout to lose weight, you can walk 45 minutes a day and eat less food. It’s not rare to see people who workout 2 hours a day that are still fat and can’t lose weight. That’s because diet is 80% of the result.
Yes after working out and getting little in the way of results (although nicer definition) I wound up restricting my caloric intake and that has been getting me about a half pound or so a day. I am not working out though.
I think working out is more for the muscle definition and the final bit of fat, not when you’re trying to get back into a healthy weight to begin with. Working out is an excellent maintenance plan, because low calories are not really sustainable long term, and you are too fatigued. Those workouts are great though for increasing calorie use so that you can eat more, and of course have nicer definition/shape. But if you are fat, you have to get rid of that first.
Every day I weigh myself and seeing that half pound go off motivates me to continue with my diet. It’s not an official diet even, although I do avoid all processed foods and I don’t eat out at all. But the amount I eat is reduced drastically. I still have carbs, protein, etc. And I’m not counting the calories either. And I’m not even really getting hungry either. If I work out I do get hungry, and if I have multiple meals a day I do get hungry as well. But having only 2 meal times a day is working out pretty good. The second meal I have is usually even smaller than the first, which isn’t too big either. Basically I really only eat at night.
But once I am back to a lower weight I’m going to bulk up again, just because it’s a personal preference. I’m not sure what my diet will be like long term, I am older now so maybe something between what I am eating now and my old eating habits is ideal. Or maybe when I regain enough muscle mass it might go back to not mattering when I actively work out.
Chad lost those extra lbs when he shaved his stomach, dont try and act like we dont know whats going on there nigga.
Even though I wasnt an active part of this thing I did try and sort myself out after being inspired by this thread but it was kinda a massive fail with the WC being on, constantly drunk and general terrible eating habbits. Think ive gained like 30lbs
Obesity is actually sharply on the rise in Japan and Asia in general. The problem isn’t carbs, it’s sugar (sucrose/fructose). Japanese people do eat carbs all day, not much sugar.
So before the contest I was about 168-169 lbs. These recent months had been a bit difficult for me as I was trying to recover from being burned out, recover from persistent soreness in my back, and then I got the flu which really kicked my rear end. I also had a new job so I had to try to figure out to get to the gym. Getting back up after falling down is difficult, but what I did was go every other day which came out to be 3-4 days a week.
This season, since a lot of my lifts are stalling (or plateau-ing as some may say), I’ve been focusing on postural and structural integrity. I’ve made some progress, but I still have ways to go. I had to re-invent my squat. I now squat uprightly like a O. lifter as opposed to a powerlifter, that means high bar back squat ATG with a slight pause at the bottom, whilst coming out explosively from the bottom During the first session, a measly 135 lbs was really difficult. The subsequent I had to focus on the technique and coming out of the hole explosively. The last few sessions, I was able to focus on develloping top-end power. I got up to 235 lbs x4 reps. I was gonna do 245 lbs last week, but sadly last week I had an allergy reaction to food which caused to be bloated which means less abdominal pressure which means less squat. This weekend, I’ve been moving and I’m still moving… uurgh
I took three measurements of my weight last week or the week before: 172, 174, and 175.5 lbs which means 5±1 lbs of muscle mass. I’m not where I want to be at, but I felt like I’ve made some baby steps in the right direction.
I will post my pics today, i have been quite busy those days so i almost forgot.
Like i said on my previous post i have been locked on an equilibrium point, where what i lose of fat i gain in muscles, so i have been keeping on 239. something
Of course i still have a lot to loss, but the good thing is that with the changes on diet and excercise i think that by the end of the year i will be on my goal
The way I look at it, fitness is always something that you have to do yourself, and the thread and contest are just a timing and motivational tool. This thread was more about providing tips to each other and support. And in that regard I think it did a great job.
Fitness isn’t a “contest” you win in 2 months, it’s something that you do your entire life, as a way of life.
I gained just over 3 lbs since the beginning of this thing, the only highlight is quitting smoking, but I messed up at my friend’s bachelor party last weekend and bought a pack. Once my road rash heals up and I get the stitches out and find out I don’t have any other damages, I may try to actually up it for next season and start getting into a routine. I also quit smoking weed too.
I was able to back ATG squat no pause, 245 lbs for only one rep. The second rep was hella good morning’ed though. I think I will practice around 185 lbs to 225 lbs and focus on pausing at the bottom and come up explosively.
Bad news though, this new gym I go to is hella busy after 4:30PM soooo I’ll have to come in at 5AM uuuurgh.

I had to learn how to chill out for the past and even though “I was lazy and missed workouts”, I only grew stronger and became more muscular working out 3-4 times a week in 3rd-4th gear in contrast to 6-7 times a week balls to the walls. I had to take the past seven days because of work/life/whatever but I came in to the gym today lifting with a better feeling, and weighed at 177.75 lbs albeit I was fully clothed. My shoes were a pound each, and my pants were probably 1.75 lbs so hahaha!
Yea that is true and you won’t be alone in this. I find it impossible to push myself to the limit everyday and expect to get the good results. It’s not practical.
If that was the case then most fruitarians and vegans would be fat because they eat a lot of fruits and fruits have a lot of fructose. You’ll find that most vegans are lean and very few of them suffer from obesity. I used to eat 800 calories worth of dates everyday when I was training and I wasn’t gaining weight at all, I was maintaining 10-12% bf year round eating over 200g of sugar a day.
Missed out on this, could do with it since I’m sitting at 215 lbs…when’s Fitness: 2nd Impact?
Also, well done everyone. Seeing a lot of people making excuses and talking about how they quit halfway etc, but it sounds like a lot of you lost weight, changed parts of your lifestyle, or at least identified some of the things you need to change. Besides that, the ones that didn’t lose any weight sound pissed off, so hopefully that’s motivation enough for you to hit it harder next time.
