I think I picked it up when we were getting Clint’s stuff together. It’s in my car, I’ll bring it by tomorrow.
Thank you for getting it! Just give it to eVile. I’m afraid I may not make it tomorrow night. Half my classes have a one-time session this Monday.
Hey friends, quick and painless spamming here. If you’re planning on coming to Chicago for Fighter x Shooter on Labor Day weekend and you’re going to be there a day early, we’re holding a Qualifying Tournament at Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, IL on Thursday, September 1st. Top two finishers in Super Street Fighter IV: AE, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, and 3rd Strike Online will earn free entry into Fighter x Shooter (or have their tournament entry and venue fee refunded at the door). Details are here: [Sep 1, 2011] Galloping Ghost Arcade x Focus Fire: A Fighter x Shooter Qualifier (Brookfield, IL)
Hope to see you in Chicago soon.
Good games to everyone on Saturday. Mystery game was also epic. Josh, glad to hear your wife is doing okay.
Hey everybody, sorry I couldn’t make it out to NL on Saturday. I’ve got some type of respiratory virus that I didn’t think anyone would be interested getting. I probably won’t make it to Meta tonight because of it. I’ll be there next week with my setup (and fresh download of 3rd Strike)!
Yeah, I can’t afford to be sick right now. Take a good long rest and I’ll see you next week Timmy.
I only play TvC casually, but I do enjoy it. I’d like to play a few games, but keep in mind I’ve practiced TvC even less than SSFIV. I still need to learn some of the more advanced gameplay mechanics.
Roll is my favorite (I knew she would be the first time I dropped a giant bucket on an opponent) and I’m still trying to decide on a partner. I’m thinking of picking Batsu, if only to show some love for Project Justice (a.k.a. Rival Schools), a really fun Dreamcast fighting game.
EDIT: I’m planning on reading over this beginner guide to TvC to make sure I didn’t miss anything up to this point. Anyone interested in playing TvC this Saturday may want to take a glance at it, too.
EDIT#2: Should I bring my Wii Classic Controller with me if I want to play TvC this Saturday?
Speaking of bringing controllers: Should I bring 2 Dreamcast controllers so we can play Power Stone 2? Should I bring a copy of Power Stone 2 as well?
Just let me know.
$16, eh? But I don’t think I could go back to the crapulent stock stick in the FightStick SEs. The Sanwa stick I installed in my FightStick SE spoiled me.
Dude, other people still play TvC? I might have to dust off my Chun/Ippatsuman…
Hey guys, A.R.K. IV is coming up September 17th-18th in Jacksonville, AR! We are expecting ~200 people with games such as SSF4:AE, SF 3S:OE, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Melee, Brawl, BB:CS II, and more! Competitors are coming in from several states to compete!
Note that our tournament is working on securing sponsorships from well known companies which will each be providing additional prizes and bonus pots for our tournaments. The Traveling Circus has expressed interest as of this time. Also, well-known regional modder DaRabidDuckie will be on hand to provide dual mods (PS3 <-> 360) for fight sticks.
If you have ANY questions, please post on the official tournament thread here: [Sep 17, 2011] ARK IV - ~200 people, Feat. Marn, JWong, + More! AE/MvC3/+More! (Jacksonville, AR)
I’d normally respond to replies on this thread, but I’m so busy with Med School that I don’t have time. Please try to make it and show your support not only for us, but for the Regional SRK community as a whole. Thanks guys!
No complains on the damage nerf. At least using Ultra 1 will be a lot easier. Ultra 2 damage looks pretty good as well. I might be using it on certain matchups though I will still stick with Ultra 1 for most cases.
-MP Thunder Knuckle 120 -> 110 damage
-EX Thunder Knuckle startup reduced to 25f, but +2 recovery
-EX Seismo 120 -> 100 damage
-U1 -> 441 damage
-U1 hitbox improved so it’s easier to hit fully after air burnkick and HP Thunder Knuckle
-U2 damage increased to 410
Viper still looks good. Ryu got a little help as well.
Charge characters making a small comeback, although Bison could use a little more love (I’d say either give back his s.HK damage, or make c.HP a more viable AA). I’m personally kinda happy they changed Chun’s stomp inputs; they had no leniency whatsoever if you weren’t holding dead straight down. No drop out on Hosenka juggles is nice too, I might pick Chun back up.
Waiting for Dudley and Guy changes crosses fingers
Also, Josh, here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?152-Valkenhayn-R.-Hellsing
It’s Valk’s Character section on Dustloop, in case you haven’t been there yet, for convenience. I’m sure you’ll find a lot of information in there for any match up and combos, as well as videos of both. I highly recommend using that site to everyone who really wants in on BlazBlue, as it’s easily the leading site for both BB and GG information.
Edit: Also, on Saturday, I’ll probably be running Arcana Heart instead of BB for a while on that day. I need to practice that a bit anyway. I’ll probably be more than willing to switch though.
Here’s the stick. Same as a SE, you would just have to take a minute to switch the sanwa from one to the other.
EDIT: My bad. $26.
Thanks for the link Markus! I’ll study up when (if) I get caught up on homework…
But in the mean time… Muhahahahaah! More reason for me to stick with Dan!!!
*"Dan got a ton of changes. *
• Pushback from his close standing Standing Hard Kick has been shortened.
• Close Medium Punch now starts up in 5 frames. This was 6 in Arcade Edition.
• Crouching Hard Kick now starts up in 10 frames. This was 11 in Arcade Edition.
• The combo cl.HK, cl.MP, cr.MP xx EX Dankukyaku is now possible.
• Reduced the height limit on Air EX Dankukyaku (Dan Kicks), a.k.a., how high you needed to be before you could do it.
• Hard Kick Dankukyaku now deals 130 damage instead of 120.
• Dan’s Jumping and Crouching Taunt build meter now. 70 on hit, 30 on block."
Sang, it finally happened. Now I have a mechanical reason to troll with Dan…
I have the cable connecting the joystick to the PCB secured with hot glue, so I don’t want to have to re-glue it. Plus $26 for the base stick is more than I’m willing to spend on another Wii controller when the Classic Controller serves well enough. I see TvC as less “serious business” and more “play for fun.”
Dudley
• Standing Roundhouse counterhit is now +7
• Air Jab can now cross up
• Air Fierce is active for 7 frames (1 longer than in AE)
• Focus Attack level 1 is -3 on hit or block
• Medium and Heavy Short Swing Blow are less vulnerable to low attacks
• Thunderbolt will now always complete if it hits and causes untechable knockdown, and the EX version will not flash on the way up
• The Rose is focus and super cancelable
• Ultra 1 Rolling Thunder will connect fully on aerial opponents
Guy
• Neutral Jump HP hitbox increased
• Jump MP and Jump HK hitbox AND hurtbox increased
• Hitbox tweaks are mainly to make it easier to hit downwards
• Normal throw range increased (similar to Ryu)
• Elbow can be performed not just by holding down, but df or db too
• Command Jump/Izuna drop (all versions) –no recovery on landing if no buttons are pressed, so you can get in and aim for throws etc
• EX senpukyaku is fixed so that itll hit easier (where it might whiff before), easier to use against opponent jumping in, easier to not whiff against small framed opponents
• The run overhead kick (kubigari) –tweaked so that it wont go over crouching opponents if performed at close range/point blank
• Finally walkback speed is increased

FADCable rose? 0 recovery Bushin Flips? Time for SHENANIGANS!
Oh, right, and frame advantage/better hitboxes, blahblahblah.
Oh boy. Alright lets do this Josh. Your Dan vs my Sakura.
Man, these AE changes are wild - lots of characters looking much better than they used to. I’m looking at you, Cody & Juri.
I hope some of you guys have been trying out 3SO - it feels a lot like Marvel to me. At least in the fact that you can get totally f’n owned real quick. Super fun though.
See you guys soon!
I’ve hopped on 3SO to an extent; haven’t had time for proper labwork yet, but I’ve narrowed my character choices to Dudley (likely), Alex, or Q, and I’m getting used to 3S combo systems. Definitely more execution heavy than SF4.
Also, I suuuuuuck at parrying.
