Hey, I posted this in the Facebook group, but if anyone would be interested in hanging around my place Saturday/Sunday the weekend of Evo to watch the Evo stream, play some games, whatever, lemme know. Was thinking of hosting some kind of Evo party for fun if anyone wanted to come out. Think of it like a Super Bowl party, only more exciting/nerdy!

Hey folks. I am in the middle of my roadtrip to EVO which started in NewYork. I decided to stop in to Springfield because it seems like you guys have a cool scene. If I were going to pick either Meta or Next Level to visit as I pass through, which would you pick and what’s the best local place to get some good eats? Thanks in advance!

Meta is probably better to hit, seeing as it’s a far more consistent turn out, but if you’re in town on Saturday, Next Level isn’t too bad. And for local eating, you’ve got to try the Cashew Chicken at a Chinese restaurant in town. There’s a reason it’s called ‘Springfield Chicken’ elsewhere.
We have a bloody Facebook group? >_> and I might be interested, seeing as how I probably won’t get to watch the EVO stream at my own house for lack of computer business over here. Just kinda depends on the distance and what not.

I do live in Bolivar though, which is about 28-30 miles north of Springfield. Had some good interest so far, so looks like we may have a small crowd. Just gotta decide on a “main” day I guess for anyone who can’t/doesn’t want to overnight Saturday. I’m thinking perhaps Sunday considering finals and all, but I really don’t want to miss anything, lol. I know I probably won’t be at Next Level that Saturday 'cause I’ll be watching the stream unless nothing really gets started until later.
And yeah Magnus, either day you’re in, come on out! And I second the cashew chicken recommendation. My personal favorite out of all the places in town that serve it (which is a LOT btw) would be Hong Kong Inn, which has 2 locations in town. And it’s cheap to boot (full meal for less than $4).
Magnus, I would also suggest Leong for Cashew chicken. I would say its one of the best. Monday night definitly has a lot more players than Saturday at next level games.
I won’t be at next level games this saturday cause I’ll be in KC all day saturday and sunday. KC got a tournament going on saturday and I’ll be there.
Torrey, about the party at your place, I’ll bring some food as well. Unhealthy Junk food.
