Adding as well (EvileLoD).
Good God, Torey. 'Gief can land LP SPD at ranges that standing LP misses.
Mwahahahahaha!
Actually didn’t spend any time with Gief yet today. Spent most of it playing Oni. Really like his playstyle, though I have yet to win a single match in Ranked with him, lol.
Loving the new Juri changes, and especially with the new matchups. Sang, let me know when you’ll be around for some Yun match ups!
Be glad to fight you anytime online. Yun can really build meter. I’ll play Yun this month so we all can get used to him, and yes, you will be seeing me playing Yun in the forecoming tournaments.
All four of the new characters feel faster than the rest of the cast, imo.
Spent some time yesterday and this morning with Yang. Jesus, is he great. I really like how he plays and he just feels right for me to play. Still having trouble doing his Rekkas though, as I’ve never used a character with them before, but I’ll try to get them down by Monday so I can have legit combos.
Also, a bit of an update on NLG; what day would you all want to meet up there? I spoke with the owner yesterday about it and he said any day is pretty much fine. He’d prefer Saturday, since that’s when the store is open the latest (Until 8 PM), and he wouldn’t like to do Tuesday and Thursday since he’s in the store the entire day from open to close. I’m pretty much fine with whatever day besides Thursday (Subject to change), so it’s mainly up to you guys to decide.
Saturday would be good for me since I work late shift every weekday except Monday. The only times Saturday wouldn’t really work for me is when there’s a tournament in KC or STL or something, but overall it’s probably the best day.
This whole game feels totally new - I don’t know if it’s because I personally avoided it for the last few months or what, but it actually seems like a huge change from Super.
New characters are awesome. E Ryu and Oni look incredible, and I already know I love Yun. We’ll have to compare notes on Monday, Sang.
I spent buku time in the lab this morning, and oh man… Guy is SO much better. Not one whiffed target combo, EX Slides through fireballs all day, and counterhit c.lk/s.mp all over the place!!! It’s like falling in love all over again
I’m also labbing it up with Evil Ryu, and IMHO, he’s amazing. A watered down Akuma, maybe, but his tools are fantastic. It feels like you can safely c.mk xx Hadoken from 3/4 screen, lol. And his damage output… holy crap. His zoning is actually better than Ryu’s, too. He’s definitely squishy, though, and he lacks tricks to open people up for that big damage. You catch a mistake, though… gg, man.
Doing the Next Level thing on Saturdays would rock, I don’t have to work and my fiance works all day, so I’ve got all the time in the world to come play Saturdays. Also, I enjoy AE so much I’m actually going to brave online, lol, so any of you that don’t already have it, my GT is xSoulBeaver.

^ I can second that. Guy went from “why pick him?” to “why not”. Target combos hitting on crouched characters = godlike.
Cool, I’ll have to get in some games with you Gypsy. I’m liking Oni, but I still need to get a handle on his tools. Won a grand total of 2 matches in ranked with him thus far
Oni is an odd duck. In offline matches, I had some success playing Oni a bit like a midrange Dhalsim, zoning with his long normals and fireballs, using air dashes to escape like Yoga teleports, but with the added bonus of being able to dash in and punish hard before escaping again.
Had trouble putting on pressure though

I think there maybe a small change to viper. Maybe its just me wanting to look for a change but there is a difference in her air burning kick. If I remember correctly, she used to go through the full arch whenever I use her tiger knee burning kick. However, now when I use it, it looks like it archs downward more when she is falling. Probably shorten the distance of the burning kick in the air but not by much.
@torrey I’ve had some luck with longer Oni normal links, and honestly they get pretty sick, especially in a corner. I WANT to try Oni, but I’d like to let the hype die down a bit.
@warden and Gypsy Guy changes seem good, but I have this…thing …with his new crouching hitbox. It seems like he gets hit by some attacks that look like whiffs. It’s like I can hit his shadow now. Anyone else?
I wish it weren’t Saturday at NLG. I’m almost guaranteed to work 12 hours on Saturday, which is why I never get to go and play outside the city. Do we have to go to NL?
Also, change to Ken EX Tatsu. It’s suddenly very floaty, and I can actually get more hits off it. It feels very strange now.
Hey guys, haven’t posted here in forever. Don’t really notice much changes with AE, probably because I’ve been playing Super daily for the past month. lol Ryu feels the same except for the Hurricane Kick nerf and I haven’t been able to land his trade DP > Ultra 1. I need to start looking for that. Guile still feels top tier, but then again, I haven’t really played with any good Yun, Yang, or Oni players. I’m messing around with Yun as well, just seems like a good idea to learn him. Maybe I’ll try Yang too to see if I click with him better. Right now I definitely prefer Ryu over E. Ryu and I can’t even play as Oni at all. haha
What’s the current status of the Evo trip this year? Is it still just Torrey with the KC guys? I’m still on the fence about going, but I will for sure go if we get a descent size group of Springfield players to go. It’s like a month away so we gotta figure this out soon.
Finally, I’d like to play with you guys online. Unfortunately, I’m mostly XBOX nowadays so you’ll rarely see me on PSN. Add me!
GT & PSN = zenkix
Dude, you will be landing that ultra when I come over. It will be viper’s knee to the face all day long.
Kidding. I can setup a scenerio where we can trade but you got to be able to see it during our matches. It’s not going to be free man.
Hey, I’m going up to STL to attend Aerial Rave tomorrow. If anyone else wants to come let me know and we can meet up in Rolla.
Hey Aniel, unfortunately it looks like I won’t be able to attend Evo this year. Cost and time just isn’t going to work for me. That’s part of the reason I went to UFGT7 this year.
And I’d love to go to STL tomorrow, but I gotta help my parents move to their new house tomorrow.
As for the NLG thing Josh, we’ll have to see. The place itself is nice for exposure and the owner is interested in getting tournaments going, which can certainly help grow the community, so I think having us there at some point would be good for keeping that setup going. Perhaps we could check into a possibility they could re-open on Sundays in the future or something. Or if anyone else has ideas, that’d be good as well. I certainly don’t want to leave you out of the hookup loop if at all possible.
Well, I’m sure we could still do it on Sundays. I was just thinking Saturday since that’s the day it’s open the latest. The owner is willing to open up Sundays again.
hey guys sorry kida left yall hangin there after the tornado, but we are all good just been kinda hectic. if yall are still on ill see if we can make it up there for this monday.
