He has to be, you can’t just be run of the mill racist.
Alright Im going to have to say this right noW and get it out of the way. MvC3 could potentially be an even scrubbier game than SFIV. Real talk. After watching the So Cal fight nights for a while last night, outside of Justin Wong being like three levels higher than everyone else in terms of skill, shit was just really whack looking. The problem really is the trend to cater to the perpetual comeback style of game design in fighters these days, but it’s a concept taken to the max in MvC3. The problem really is X-Factor. That one mechanic is almost comical at this point. At least in SFIV it was sometimes aesthetically pleasing to see a guy use his Ultra to come back, but even that is missing from X-Factor comebacks. People were losing entire matches where they had a 3 to 1 character lead by three random ugly ass looking moves by Sentinel into Sentinel orb. Although this opinion is admittedly not based on extensive personal experience, there were just several instances of the game leaving a bad taste in my mouth after just watching it played. I have to agree that damage is just way too high and too easy to attain, and just to reiterate, X-Factor is just a running joke. I won’t comment on my opinion during gatherings at all since in spite of it all the game is still fun to play, Im just getting this out of the way now because I think it needs to be said (and it probably will be said very often in the very near future by almost everyone anyway).
Seriously though, I can’t understand how Capcom would drop the ball this far. How on earth could an entire design team agree that allowing X-Factor to do double the damage, provide a speed boost, a chip defense and allow for both offensive and defensive cancelling was even in the neighborhood of being a good idea. I can deal with Sentinel, but X-Factor just makes this game look like a joke right now. Yes it’s hype because it’s marvel and yes it is fun, but the game itself has some extremely poor design choices.
Hate me if you want for saying this, but I can almost guarantee that you are going to be hearing a lot of this anyway unless the push to lower damage for tournaments goes through, which I somehow doubt because this is SRK after all.
It’s not something I can put my finger on really. All I know is that for as scrubby as SFIV was I at least got some enjoyment of watching it played at a high level even despite my disdain the game’s emphasis on OP,easy to perform defense mechanics. MvC3 on the other hand just made me groan and scratch my beard over and over again (except when Justin was playing).
Edit: I just want to emphasize that I won’t be complaining about the game. I really don’t hate it. It’s still Marvel and there’s something about it that just works no matter what. I just have a REALLY bad feeling about the game’s consistency, and it’s one of those bad gut feelings.
Oh well. The long wait for CvS3 begins now.
I had bad feelings about X Factor since I first saw it in action. And yes, I do agree, if one thing is gonna kill this game its X Factor in its current state.
Says the guy who used it to get a free copy of the game lol
Was trying to do mission 8 for Deadpool last night and got so sick of inputting :f::df::d: instead of :f::d::df: on dpad so I quit in anger and decided I would not play anymore until I got a fight stick. One trip to Enfield later and I have one, yay
Edit: The stick is being weird, the first few times I plugged it in it would not respond, but then I plugged it in to a USB extension cable because I like to try all my options, and it magically worked. I heard from someone that SSF4 SE’s had a lot of problems, is this one of them?
The problem with SE’s is that you shouldn’t get one LOL. If I may, I would strongly suggest to save up for one of the TE’s down the road. I guess SE’s are better than nothing in the loosest sense of the expression though.
So I’ve heard, but I’m short on money and once I get my taxes I’ll be in the clear to get better hardware provided I’ve maintained interest (which is looking good). Also, I’d probably end up replacing the square gate as soon as possible because it is obnoxious.
I’m not gonna say it didn’t. Winning like that made me really see just how damn OP XFC is.
You do mean “KFC” right? :clown::clown:
Is that cause I’m black?
nah, son

WATAA!!
Bruce Lees favorite drink.
So tomorrow- NOON to 8PM. Pushing it 2 hours early. I don’t have a copy at my house since they’re being borrowed. If you show up at 7PM don’t expect me to host til 10PM etc. I have a ton of crap to do tomorrow night/Saturday morning so sorry if I can’t accomodate those working/late etc.
Again, Justo is bringing some food - Please throw him a few $$s to help him out on the cost. If you come any earlier I will be sleeping and/or answer the door in my boxers.
edit: I don’t think the SE/TE difference is as severe as people think, I’ve broken both of them and if anything I can still play smash brothers with them fine.
Did you see the others? Pretty hilarious.
Link.
So it’s probably not common for diagonals to register weird right? If I push the stick to a left or right wall and then move it to a bottom corner, it never picks up the corner movement unless I go closer towards the bottom wall. In short, I now see clearly why SE’s are bad. I’m okay with the buttons being hyper sensitive and even slightly sticky at times, but that’s just outright poor. I’ve read about substituting out sticks on TEs, is it not possible on SEs?
