Two to three years ago I created the logo and tag line Kings of Poverty for Spooky. For a few months we streamed Melty Blood, Vanguard Princess, Arcana Heart, etc matches at his house as he got used to the basics of streaming. He had a website up, he asked for a logo, I made him one. Then Super SF4 came around and Arturo suggested they run with it. So he did. For a week straight they had a 24 hour stream going. It caught on.
In the following months he would come back to me asking for stream backgrounds. I honestly did my best to accommodate for him but I didn’t really know what stream backgrounds were supposed to look like. At the time I became unemployed as well so I was under plenty of stress. Somewhere down the line he gained more recognition and he had to pick up someone else for the graphical side of things that could help him out better. Hey, I was happy at that point, I just wished I could have helped more / better.
This guy has gone through some shit. Some real fucking shit. Every son of a bitch on this forum should donate a dollar to him for the tireless, thankless work he’s put into streaming. Where would BIONIC ARM be if he hadn’t streamed it? Who would have known about PR Balrog’s crazy comeback against Viscant? The list goes on.
I had always hoped that this was profitable for him somehow, but that doesn’t entirely seem to be the case. Whatever the reason, that reason can go fuck itself in the ass.

Spooky needs more advertising to get lots of viewers. His streaming services need sponsors as well. If he is able to reach out to gaming websites that provide high traffic like Gametrailers, IGN, 1up, and other gaming websites he should be able to break even at least. He can also have a tournament where part of the entry fee goes to streaming, say like $2 go to him for each $10 tournament entry fee. I know some people will disagree because they want as much money as they can get from the tournament when they win, but don’t forget, Sp00ky is advertising you by having his stream up and running and you’re still getting money even though its not as much. Be less greedy it will help the FGC in the end afterall and Sp00ky would never have to quit his streaming job.
Or the 5K+ viewers he gets donates
How about it’s disgusting that he can get 18,000 to watch a tournament but not even 80 of them will donate.
Honestly he should be charging for his services at this point (pay to watch the stream), it’s fucking criminal that the quality he’s delivering is being done for free.
Or he switches to a better service and his viewer count drops for dumb ass reasons.
I remember that original SSF4 pre-release stream, it’s where I found out about Sp00ky. I never imagined this shit would blow up the way it has. Tip of my hat to Sp00ky no matter what happens from here on out, I feel like a complete jackass because I’ve taken him for granted too many times.

I’m going to go to big 2 with a check for spooky. He deserves his payout.
Why would the viewer be expected to donate? If he is helping event organizers broadcast then they should be giving him something for his time, equipment & services. Money shouldn’t be expected off the whimsical charity of the community, that’s not a good way to run a brand. At the very least TO’s, should be paying him enough to break even and donations should be added on top of that.
damn and i just started watching his streams… 
um, i know this has been debunked over 9000 times already, but once again, he cleared it up at the panel at UFGT8 this past weekend. Paraphrased: “I’m not quitting, what we’re doing is something different, we’re gonna branch out from fighting games, bring more general content. We’d like to see Team Spooky be more of a general gaming channel with stuff going on all day.”
I made this topic when he said “We’re done with this shit” at Civil War which definitely sounded like quitting. Sorry if I misinterpreted that.
Glad to hear he’s thinking about expanding. Growth is good and the Team Spooky name has a very positive brand image.

I’ve donated to spooky so many times. My only regret is that I never got one of his original shirts. I really don’t like the illuminati logos.
